If you have nothing to refute the facts just be silent!

You are typical of most -- that is when they can't refute somebody's facts , they resort to gibberish!

I guess it depends on how you define the word heat. If I take a greenhouse without any glass in the windows & add the glasss, does the air inside the greenhouse heat up?

Cold without the glass, warm with the glass. The glass is an obvious factor in causing the air to become warmer. Does the glass warm the greenhouse?

you lie again!!
In the movie,( the gore movie) a whole Antarctic ice sheet shatters on Gore’s computer screen. In the real world, that isn’t happening
So. Al Gore says Antarctic melting will suddenly raise the sea levels by 20 feet, and the experts say 4 inches per century. Seth Borenstein, an AP science writer, did a column on June 27 headlined,“Scientists OK Gore’s Movie for Accuracy.” The dean of environmental studies at Duke is quoted as saying “He got all the important material and got it right.”
Were they talking about the same movie I saw? Gore overstated the impact of global warming on the Antarctic glaciers by about 50-fold. Or did he mean that 7000 years was “sudden”? How can so-called scientists applaud his accuracy either way?
Did his movie portray that or not? How many 4 inches are there in 20 feet..
I didn't hear the big slash yet! More fear mongering in his self serving vehicle to riches!
1) Gore did not say that that would happen in 2009 you frickin dumbazz.

2) You own frickin article that you fricken posted fricken said the ice on frickin antartica was about the same. i.e. It DIDN'T FRICKIN GROW.

How GD stupid are you.

Suddenlly does not mean now. Look it up in your Freakin Wagnals.

It has no relationship to how you define heat because CO2 does not heat or cool anything. Does a mirror add heat when it reflects sunlight or does it redirect the heat from the sun? H2O and CO2 merely act as a blanket to prevent the earth's heat from escaping into space. Ditto for the glass in your analogy.

Why did his movie depict the shelf shattering -- was that to be 7000 yrs in the future?

Pathetic fear monger is right , from the Gore investment firm!

If the mirror is shaped to concentrate the light, then the mirror can cause a fire.

Look I realize that it does not generate the heat but it does cause it to heat up.

Without the mirror - no heat. With the mirror - heat.

With less CO2, lower heat. With more CO2 more heat.

Gore said that if the ice shelf slipped into the ocean. He stated no time frame. This does not give you the right to say he meant today. There are other studies that say that if the temperatures rise enough, it could cause this scenario - whether a sudeden slippage or rapid melting. It gives an idea of how much ice there is in the world & happens if a good chunk of it were to melt.

Like the above post of yours!
The point is that you do not need to concern yourself with the facts,,,,,goofy!
You probably won't understand them anyway if ever presented to them.

The only thing you need to do is to decide whether you want to take the risk or not!

What's so hard to understand about that???

<quoted text>The greenhouse effect is caused by gases that TRAP heat and not by gases that heat the air. If your reading comprehension was above that of a third grader, you might have noted my original reply was to refute the claim that CO2 was heating the air. Can a blanket heat anything? Nope, but it can trap your heat.
Maybe you can get Owl Gore to explain a few things to you like how to make money off of bogus science while living in a mansion and driving a gas guzzling SUV.
Duh.

So you know how CO2 contributes to heating the atmosphere yet you want to pick a fight with me about it. What the hell is wrong with you? Why would you INVENT something to argue about?

To refresh your poor memory, real_science stated "The man-released fossil CO2 that's up there now will still heat the earth's air." and I replied to him/her (NOT YOU!) that is nonsense because the CO2 does not heat anything.

Could it have been you that wanted to argue since my initial reply was never addressed to you? And FYI, the CO2 does NOT heat the atmosphere or anything else. Stick to things you know something about like greenhouses!

Yes, yes, we get it. All the heat comes from the sun. CO2 doesn't emit any heat. You are VERY clever, arguing about a fine distinction in semantics just like a middle school boy. Thanks for the education.

And by education I, of course, mean that you've educated us as to the quality of your intellect and maturity level.

yep global warming is so real that is why some parts of florida are cooler than they ever been and why over the last few years winter in many parts of the county has almost made it to summer. in fact it has snowed so much in utah over the last few years that you have been able to go skiing during your 4th of july vacation... and some of the record temps have yet to be beat that were set almost 100 years ago. and the weather forcast is misleading every day they give you what is called the average temp for that day. who remembers from school how to get an average. it doesnt mean that over the last 150 years that on say july 10th the temp of the day was lets say 85 almost every year that isnt how it works. it means when you take the temp for that day every years add them up then divid by the number of years that is what average comes to but let say in 150 years you have 20 years of really warm day or 60 years that the temp was really cold for that time of year that can mess up the average. to get a real feel of what the "normal temp should be on anyday they should show what they think the temp with be along with what the temp has been over the last few decades so you can really see how much up and down there really is

You'd be wise to not go sticking your nose into discussions that you do not understand and then claiming that someone else started the argument.

It wasn't about your so called "facts".

It was about if reasonably intelligent people (this excludes you) dare to take the gamble.

What's wrong with you?? I am totally aware that you can't read, but can't you at least watch a movie???(or does that challenge your attention defeceit)

Why do you keep rambling about "facts" ????

Heck,,I'll try again :

Why do we do all of this?

Former US Vice President Al Gore could become the world’s first carbon billionaire
