Yesterday I went with my daughter to a Chinese fast food restaurant that we frecuent, and as always, we were attended by these nice Chinese women, that hardly speak two or three words of Spanish, they cannot even say how much the check/account is, so they write it on a paper.

However, all go nice, and pointing fingers at dishes, and a lot of smiles and goodwill for both parties suffice so that everything goes very smoothly and friendly.

I see the daughter of one of them playing joyfully with Mexican kids and speaking and screaming with a mishmash of Spanish and Chinese.

For me is a very good chance to see why Chinese and Mexicans have very good empathy nowadays.

During the Mexican Revolution there were criminal incidents where innocent/naive Chinese workers were given rifles by they employers and given instruction to fire at Mexican revolutionaries when they enter town, and there started some animosity against them. But that is the past and fortunately, nobody want to remember and hold a grudge about it.

Currently we have a good influx of Chinese and Koreans and they are very well received and rarely cause any problem worth mention.

We receive them gladly.

Aztecs hate dogs, in fact they created a race of dog specifically for cousine:

But currently it is breed only as pet.

Still, Chinese and Mexican food are ones of the most recognized cousines of the World.

Interesting topic and expanding on the post by Sirius.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chinese_American

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immigration_to_t...

Immigrants by nationality in Mexico:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immigration_to_M...

There are 3,347,229 Chinese that live in the USA as of 2010 and 6,665 in Mexico. There were 738,103 Americans living in Mexico.

The Chinese are thought of by Americans as very hard working and educated. They make more per household then non Mexican Whites in the USA. They earned 65,273 annually as opposed to 52,480 by non Mexican American Whites. The are very educated and are doctors, investment bankers and more. They have assimilated into the USA and speak fluent English.

The Chinese here in Chihuahua are very successful. Unlike the Chinese that live near Sirius I have never met a person of Chinese blood living in Tijuana, Mexicali or Chihuahua that did not speak perfect Spanish. My Mexican wife says their Spanish is perfect. With an accent that you can tell they are Chinese. Just like the Chinese in the USA they speak perfect English but with an accent.

We eat at the "China City" restaurant/buffet on Ave Vallarta once a week. The food is exceptional. The cooks and the owners are all of Chinese origin. The Mesero's or waiter's are all Mexican and are also very nice people. I make sure to tip them well. I notice when all the Chinese are sitting at a table together they speak in Chinese. But when there is A Mexican National sitting with them they speak in Spanish.

There is a Chinese Restaurant named "Hong Kong" that is all Mexican owned and the cooks and everyone that works there are Mexican. They cannot do Chinese food like the Chinese. It is located on Avenue Ortiz Mena. I ate there just once.

One of the reasons there are fewer immigrants to Mexico from any other nationality or Country is that it is much harder to obtain citizenship. Also many do not want to do it because of the danger and low wages. It is almost impossible to live in Mexico illegally as they have road blocks and if I had not have had my papers in order I would have gone to jail and sent back.

I love it here in Mexico in spite of witnessing executions and having my life on the line a few times. I guess I am a little crazy. But you only live once, and I enjoy the company of good Mexican people. I have always been attracted to Mexican women. I was at a party last night and I told some of the guys that affection towards Latin Women. Like always they all said they liked the American women. Go figure. To each his own.

Thanks for the information,@Concerned.

Just correcting a number.

6000+ Chinese in Mexico, so to say, with Chinese passports, tourist and else. But there are over 70,000 Mexicans with Chinese ancestry.

Just as you can see in the Wikipedia entry, that there are 400,000+ people in Mexico that know Arabic, but there are not much Arab citizens in Mexico.

Regards.

Good stuff!

I guess it would be Chinese and not Chinese Mexicans they were referring about. Just like the 3,000,000 or so Chinese in the USA. So you can only imagine how many Chinese Americans live in the USA. Because, I believe the statistics were in the same column in Wikipedia. The statistics I mentioned. I read somewhere there were over 100,000 Black slaves brought into Mexico, and I believe I also read Mexicans have 10% on average Black influence averaged in their genes across the board. So some less and some more. So Mexicans are quite a mix just like Americans.

Thanks Amigo
