I think the problem in Sudan, especially the north requires more commitment and focus to solve outstanding conflicts all around Sudan than just the mediation effort of Ethiopia or anyother third party.Ethiopia can only mediate the South-North issues but there are lots of North Sudan citizens(non-Arabs) who feel marginalized in all corners of Sudan (Blue Nile,Kordofan,Darfur and in East Sudan).Hence a major paradigm shift in politics has to be made by the leading party of Sudan with respect to resolving the dispute raised by those rebels. If unattended Sudan may further split up in to ministates.Noone wants that, especially Ethiopia. So the government of Sudan should rather start to genuinly dialogue with the rebels and look for settlement.

Is it why our brother is killing school kids in the USA,skin Head? Africa has a long history of peace until your blood thirsty graddy came and start killing locals.

Zewdu, ignore ignorance.. You thoughts are well organized. In the South, they must take care of the people..A few get their hands on the money and live a lavish lifestyle. While others are scraping for food to feed their families. Take car with the people and they will take care of the country..Beat them down, only more resistance.

I agree with you Paul,I can sense the situation in the South from far.The south needs to focus on internal issues; resource allocation for development and democracy. That is the major treat to South Sudan than the outstanding border demarcation issues.May God help all the Sudan and Africa at large!

No way, she already has way too many internal problems (famine, disease, ethnic discrimination, etc) as well as unresolved issues with Somalia and Eritrea. Now he wants to play peacemaker in Sudan? What a joke and waste of time. Nothing productive will come of this vacation trip, guaranteed.

Mr.Comandonkey,We are talking about Ethiopia's mediation efforts but not of Eritrea's war mongering habits.Ethiopia has been mediating the north- south Sudanees even before their split while Issayas' Eritrea was supplying arms and training opposition forces all over Sudan. It't quite unfortunate of you to hear that Ethiopia is the trusted mediater among both Sudanees unlike your Eritrea which is involved in Smuggling and theft of Sudan's oil and flour! hehehe!

Not marginalization. If you have merits and qualifications, equal opportunities exist in north Sudan and existed in old Sudan, too. Much like Ethiopia, it's rather a CIA induced movement to radicalize ethnic differences in order to weaken the Arab identity of Sudan. Both being punished by US imperialism. Ethiopian for trying communism but Sudan for being black and pro-Palestine.

Ethiopia is feeding 750, 000 Eritrean refugees who fled starvation and brutal persecution for various reasons including forced conscripts who were told to serve in the army indefinitely. Ethiopia established clinics for their health, sends them to high school and colleges. Allowed to work and send back money to their poor relatives they left behind in Ertra. Ante ahiya, you should thank Ethiopia. We help your relatives with 3 meals a day, medicine, education and jobs.
