No one's asking you to throw yourself out and say "AH, I concede that there is nothing in my religion that says anything negatively about the way you are..."
It's merely that it'd be nice for Christians to be able to say "Alright. My religion prohibits your actions and says that they are sins, and I will therefore not partake in them. However, you being not necessarily of my faith, I accept that you have the right to live your life the way you want to live it, and I respect you and your choices."
