Or you know, you could think critically about what you read. I know it´s not as easy as being completely ignorant, but being ignorant has long term consequences. You only have to trust the scientific method and logic. It get´s really easy after a while, people should try it more.
A long time ago I was raised in the scientific method, and studied logic an philosophy. I still consider reason one of the basic tools I use. I was in the hard sciences..., chemistry and enjoyed my calculus courses. But one really peaks in math around 30 and I had to let it go, for cosmology instead....

I worked in the real world in Quality Assurance for the Aerospace industry.

But world knowledge is only a poor substitute to learning about God and His Ways.

Hey,
I apologize, but you'll have to explain what you mean about faith more there. I don't follow, even a little.
Yes, beliefs are culturally learned, but also the kinds of things we are taught to attend. Our worldviews constrict our realities, they guide the kinds of questions we ask, phenomena we can see (or pay attention to) and thus act to reinforce their teachings and therefore their "normalcy" - we all "know" our worldviews to be normal and natural, and we make the mistake of thinking they are human universals.

Faith is like a priori knowledge.....We know that knowledge is either a priori or a posteriori. Beliefs tend to be a posteriori, and so the scientist dealing with data are familiar, and find this data through the senses, including intellectually...

Faith exists outside the a posteriori....Thus for instance it was not Thomas's faith which was increased when he saw Jesus, rather it was his belief in who Jesus was after the resurrection....

In a sense then the atheist has doubts as Thomas due to hard factual data to the senses, but has certain set beliefs which can be changed. However, as I am sure you have heard the atheist must have faith that there is no God, and this is because faith is not "sensed" or conceptualized and must be a priori....

Imagine if the Protestant "founding" fathers who believed that those in the black race (according to GOD) had no souls could be alive now to see that the United States has a black president ... how surprised they would be.

They might just say ... "Gee ... maybe we were wrong about the 'messages" we TOOK from the 'BOOK.'"

Now that´s the absolut truth! We fight against each other. From a religious perspective (example Adam and Eve) we have all the same ancestors and from a scientific one too. But we still fight. Still fight because of some power hungry corrupted individuals.

The question is how much personal security must one be willing to have in order to trade for personal freedom within a community?

The empowerment of humanity against all that it sees as a sort of threat is where in each of us we offer give into fear....

In the US. for example, most goods are made in China, in appalling conditions. Is this not similar to forced labor camps in your Germany of WWII? Such a simple comparison bears scrutiny....

I suggest that it is VERY easy to embarrass a theologian.

Embarrassing theologians ended in countless innocent people being imprisoned, tortured and murdered when the dared to embarrass theologians.

The mottos of the theologians were ... "You WILL agree with me ... or ELSE."

An supposed IMPROVED extension.
The old testament was written to set the STAGE for the new.
The old testament was to indicate that there was a new savior coming and that the Jewish "prophets" were in agreement that one was needed to correct the people back into holy beings as GOD wanted.
Now ... along comes the new testament that claims that the Jews are evil. Do you honestly believe that Jewish "prophets" would be a part of a scheme to defame Jews ... when THEY were Jews???
The idiocy of it all is ASTOUNDING!
Your knowledge of the New Testament is lacking and the idiocy is yours. The New Testament does not promote hatred for the Jews. Jesus only taught among the Jewish people, never among gentile nations. The scriptures refer to those Jews who believed Him and those who did not. Jesus called some Jews vipers and others disciples.

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

Romans 2:9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;

Romans 2:10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile

Priori

A Priori is a philosophical term that is used in several different ways. The term is suppose to mean knowledge that is gained through deduction, and not through empirical evidence.

Note how close the word is to the word Empire.
>>>>>>> >>>>>>> >>>>>>> >>>>>>> >>>>>>> >

Empirical evidence

Empirical evidence (also empirical data, sense experience, empirical knowledge, or the a posteriori) is a source of knowledge acquired by means of observation or experimentation. The term comes from the Greek word for experience, Εμπ ειρ ία (empeiría).

According to ALL Christians Jesus became a Christian and left his Judaism to the deceivers which were the Jews.

Jesus had to be a Christian to be saved and purified for Christian heaven and that meant de-Judaizing him. The early Christians claimed that the Jews faithful to Judaism SUFFERED from Judaizing DISEASE.

You really need to understand WHY the Catholics NEEDED a new testament, and you won't find it by focusing on words IN the bible to lead you to believe that Christians are special to the reformed god who used to love ONLY the Jews.

Religion is based not on one lie ... but rather on a continual string of LIES.

Typical atheist. People respond to your posts and you twist their words. Why is stating your disbelief acceptable but someone who believes is "preaching" when they state theirs? Do you really think everyone who believes in God and Christ are out to convert you? Wrong!

Hebrews 6 : 4 For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,
6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

Even the Catholics admitted that they stole the Greek word Ihcuc from the Greeks to in turn morph the word into the word Jesus.
