Thanks for confirming my words....You just gave another perfect example of what the Bible says. I am not spiritually discerned....the things of the Spirit of God are!!!!!!
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
Am full up on senseless prattle...
So Jesus has appeared to you? Does Jesus appear to you often?

LMAO. On the surface, you just don't sound very "spiritual." But if the Creator of the Universe is talking to you, please ask JC who will win the Super Bowl.

Oops, sorry, spiritual discernment never yields anything THAT practical.

Pity.

I have to read and study the Bible to understand it.
That sounds easy enough. After all, the smartest being in the Universe should be able to write something clear and amazing, something that men of good will can read and study and agree.
Based on that logic, the Bible is NOT from any god.
What percentage of Christians agree with you? Why do so many disagree?
In 1861, why did Christians in the South believe the Bible says that slavery is OK, while Christians in the North read the same Bible and believed the exact opposite.
You have no evidence beyond your own ego that what you believe about god is any more true than anyone else.
That's a fact.

First understand that SPAIN brought the Africans to ALL the Americas following Columbus 1492. Then AFTER 1776 in the USA south there was very few law enforcement for anything. Drugs were legal. Pass all the laws you want - there was no enforcement. The Christians did not own slaves, Planters did. We know George Washington, Jefferson and Franklin all owned slaves, and they were not Christians. The Carroll family also were major Planters, they were Catholic like Spain.

The Bible was never used to justify any of that, rather Rome's fascist empire.

There are no contradictions in the KJV, or earlier Geneva Bible 1560, because it is from God. If you want to check the Hebrew use a Strong's Concordance. This is done all the time. We have a perfect English translation.

I suspect, however, if you measure your life against hers, you'll come up short.
After all, you're here posting angry rants rather than building convents or feeding the hungry, eh?
As much as you would like me to believe that I come up short to you and Mother Teresa ... I don't agree.

I suggest that I would have used the money for feeding the starving people rather than using the money to build Catholic convents to please the pope.

Robert F,... being an Atheist for a very brief time ... "I can't take it any longer. I have to preach how wonderful I am, and my Catholic religion gives me that BOOST.

"I am Robert. I am Catholic. I am saved" I understand the workings of the universe. I will never be anything but a servant to God, as I shun the devil at every turn. I vow, I will not return again to Atheism, as it never gave me the HIGHS that I am sure to receive from my religion. Amen and Amen and Amen! Praise God who is wise enough to see how wonderful I am in all my glory. My angel-wings are growing as I preach."

Song Robert F sings to self.

Oh Lord it's hard to be humble
when you're perfect in every way.
I can't wait to look in the mirror
cause I get better looking each day.
To know me is to love me
I must be a hell of a man.
Oh Lord it's hard to be humble
but I'm doing the best that I can.

The Christians did not own slaves,
Forest G. Wood is the author of “The Arrogance of Faith.”

In the end, Madeleine Hooke Rice wrote in her study on Catholicism and slavery, Catholic slaveholders “did not differ from owners of other creeds nor were they actuated by any loftier motives.” The preponderant factor was their status as masters, not their status as Christians.

There was also an incriminating dimension to this situation that did not obtain in the Protestant churches. The institutional ownership of a slave meant that a priest held his bondsmen, at least theoretically, at the pleasure of the hierarchy. Moreover, Catholic laymen could hold slaves only with the church’s toleration. But forthrightness was never a Christian virtue.

The only way to address this would be through the original Hebrew translations. No doubt the original meanings have been skewed.
It's interesting that no one here would think to do research from a Jewish perspective.
That is, if one really cared about the truth, rather than simply defending a pre-determined conclusion.

I think the KJV has had a pretty good run. Of course it was a take-off of the Douay-Rheims, the RC version of the time. And I think it is well liked because of its classical English.

Interpreting words, and phrases from ancient languages has obvious difficulties. And I know there are some who would believe that not one dot or letter is out of place in their Bibles.

I use various Bibles, and if I need to get down to a single word, or phrase, I generally go to
Biblehub.com . I think it is an excellent resource.

This is why so many Catholics left the Catholic church to become Lutherans.

I suggest it had nothing in common with a god whispering in Luther's ear.

From the book, Eunuchs for the Kingdom of Heaven … Uta Ranke-Heinemann

The Evolution of Celibacy.

In 1542 when the papal nuncio Morone called Archbishop Albrecht of Brandenburg’s attention to the urgency of celibacy, the archbishop said:“I know that all my priests are living in concubinage. But what should I do to stop it? If I forbid them concubinage, they either want to have wives or become Lutherans”(cf. Morone’s letter to Cardinal Farnese, Monumenta Vaticana, edited by H. Laemmer, 1861, p. 412).

Luther knew he had a good thing going when he preached that "God" wanted him to marry his ex-nun.
>>>>>>> >>>>>>> >>>>>>> >>>>

From the book, Eunuchs for the Kingdom of Heaven … Uta Ranke-Heinemann

The Evolution of Celibacy.

As for the priests in Germany, in 1525 the Mainz canon Karl von Bodmann noted an "almost unbelievable increase of licentiousness among the German clergy since proclamation of the new, so-called Gospel [of Luther]." The Augustinian monk had taken the problem of clerical marriage in hand; and the effect of his assaults on celibacy and monastic vows was so enormous that a wave of marrying swept over the whole clergy, as well as the monks and nuns. The first Reformers, with the exception of Melanchthon (d. 1560), were all priests. Even the famous humanist and priest Erasmus of Rotterdam (d. 1536), the second son of a priest and a physician's daughter, came down on the side of "tranforming concubines into wives" (De conscribendis episcopis 47).

Robert ... you don't need a bible in order to preach. The problem for you would be ... without a bible, people might suspect you of being a braggart with no more foundation than a balloon filled with helium.

The first Catholic "cough-cough" reformers that joined the Protestant religion because they also wanted to get married, were ex-Catholic PRIESTS.

And that means that those priest took up arms to fight the powerful Catholic military.

First, whether you measure up to me is something you invented.

Why do you think that is?

As to measuring up to the nun, I think your choice of words sums it up: "I would have".

Point is, you didn't.

If the Catholic church could remove the graven images (Jesus, the saints, angels), the pagan rituals (communion, exorcism), the false prophets (popes and priests), the worship of idols (rosaries, crucifixes, statues), the worship of other gods (Mary, Jesus, St. Michael, St. Nicholas), and the concept that God "died", then and only then will they realize that the entire practice was not consistent with the revealed nature of God; that it was a distortion of truths along with a power structure that kept it as such; that it claimed to be as exalted of an authority AS God; and also has led many down a path away from the proper practices of worshipping the Most High!!!

Most High ... as in pile of your own manure that you preach as being based on the only truth in the universe.

Preachers all use the same RUSE in order to fill their mental cups with self-aggrandizing sermons.
