So you love your children by telling them these things are not sin???

Don't you realize that those who do wrong will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don't fool yourselves. Those who indulge in sexual sin, or who worship idols, or commit adultery, or are male prostitutes, or practice homosexuality, or are thieves, or greedy people, or drunkards, or are abusive, or cheat people--none of these will inherit the Kingdom of God.

6:9-11 The Corinthians are warned against many great evils, of which they had formerly been guilty. There is much force in these inquiries, when we consider that they were addressed to a people puffed up with a fancy of their being above others in wisdom and knowledge. All unrighteousness is sin; all reigning sin, nay, every actual sin, committed with design, and not repented of, shuts out of the kingdom of heaven. Be not deceived. Men are very much inclined to flatter themselves that they may live in sin, yet die in Christ, and go to heaven. But we cannot hope to sow to the flesh, and reap everlasting life. They are reminded what a change the gospel and grace of God had made in them. The blood of Christ, and the washing of regeneration, can take away all guilt. Our justification is owing to the suffering and merit of Christ; our sanctification to the working of the Holy Spirit; but both go together. All who are made righteous in the sight of God, are made holy by the grace of God. MH

Once I learned that issue, it was a short step to seeing that all religion was and is based on "perception" ... and perception is nothing other than opinion.
Mythology is philosophy ... PERIOD!
You can make a savior-myth of HUGE importance in your own mind ... but what good comes of it when you fight with others and put down their savior-myths as false?
I suggest you think about it ... and you will see that your right-fighting ways are sadly lacking in any credibility whatsoever.

As usual, you missed the point, that is OffDerMark..., suicide has mitigating circumstances, as does killing.
The Catholic hierarchy taught that (ACCORDING TO THE CREATOR) killing others in defense of Catholicism and the Catholic church was HOLY ... and that suicide was EVIL.

If you don't see it Robert ... you CHOOSE to stay blind-sighted.

I will if you can you explain why you think the Catholic and Orthodox Churches support homosexual behavior.

What I (and others hopefully) realize is that you're trying to endear yourself to the other Duck Dynasty loving fundamentalists on the board by fabricating the falsehood that the Catholic and Orthodox Churches encourage homosexual behavior. BTW, I and other faithful Catholics fully support Phil Robertson's statement.

<quoted text> LOL, it's not a sin to be homosexual, but the act of homosexuality sure is. There are many gays and lesbians out there who live chaste lives and surely are closer to Christ than you are. Hello, Christ loves everyone, including you.
I see your point. It is on the top of your head.

Husker Du said, quote, "LOL, it's not a sin to be homosexual, but the act of homosexuality sure is. There are many gays and lesbians out there who live chaste lives and surely are closer to Christ than you are. Hello, Christ loves everyone, including you." End quote.

Let me see. Apparently ignorance is bliss for you.

This is your statement, quote, "it's not a sin to be homosexual, but the act of homosexuality sure is." End quote.

According to Roman Catholic theology the same can be said for the following, correct?

1. "It is not a sin to be a thief, but the act of thievery sure is."

2. "It is not a sin to be a murderer, but the act of murder sure is."

3. "It is not a sin to be a liar, but the act of lying sure is."

Leviticus 18:22, "“Do not practice homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman. It is a detestable sin." (NLT)

Leviticus 20:13, "“If a man practices homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman, both men have committed a detestable act. They must both be put to death, for they are guilty of a capital offense." (NLT)

I Corinthians 6:9-10, 9 "Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God."

Apparently it is a sin to be homosexual. Notice this verse tells us, "homosexuals" not the act of homosexuality.

I Timothy 1:8-11, 8 "But we know that the Law is good, if one uses it lawfully, 9 realizing the fact that law is not made for a righteous person, but for those who are lawless and rebellious, for the ungodly and sinners, for the unholy and profane, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers 10 and immoral men and homosexuals and kidnappers and liars and perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound teaching, 11 according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God, with which I have been entrusted."

For out of the heart come evil thoughts--murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.

Why doesn't your pope make a statement in support of Phil Robertson? Could it be his "buddies" are sodomites? Just wondering.

If a Protestant believes that a Catholic is evil ... does that mean that the Catholic IS evil ... or simply that the Protestant BELIEVES that the Catholic is evil???
I suggest you think about the silliness of such an attitude.
Only if you think about it, can you choose to go beyond those type of thoughts.
I don't believe that humans ARE evil ... period! From my perception ... we are all messed up in our mentalities, by others putting their messed-up thoughts into our thoughts and adding their messes to our messes.
If you aren't confused ... I suggest you aren't one of us!

Men are inherently evil that is do not live by God's law. They first have to accept that there is a God and then do what he says - in God's 10C law. It is about obedience.

Protestants do not believe Catholics are evil. There are many good Catholics who do their best as they understand in the 1.2 billion members. The Roman Church however we read about in the Bible. Telling the truth about what is written has to be done and is not hate for the Catholics.

It means to the reader of the words whatever the reader of the words DESIRES it to mean.

Men created images in their own minds of gods that they BELIEVED wanted them to kill other humans.

Thought carries those in religion AWAY from any semblance of common sense!

2 Using the Chrysostom quote demonstrated you use quotes without knowing what the quote is referring to

4. You never read a theologian
5 accusing someone of antisemitism will not cover up your lack of knowledge and blinders
John Chrysostom used his bible to supposedly show others the meaning of Jesus' message of love ... while at the same time he was preaching that Jesus wanted the Jews SLAYED.

If you don't perceive that as split-thinking, I suggest that is YOUR problem ... not mine.
