Pride is the essence of humans. If we lost pride in our beliefs, then we wouldn't believe them.
Maybe to you, but then again, you are a new Atheist.

Pride is not the essence of humans, love is.

Now if you want to believe pride is, I can see why you post the way you do - thru pride instead of love.

"Pride in belief"?? Where do you come up with these analogies.

Uninformed people have "pride in the belief", because they would rather choose that approach than to realize the truth.

For instance -'hojo'

Informed individuals use facts for their beliefs, and don't really care about any impact pride may have. Pride is just an emotion accessed by individuals when they think they have succeeded in something.

I understand. Perhaps you would prefer the Arabic greeting instead of English?
There are a lot of words you can post in English other than "Peace."

From my perspective, religion is nothing but trouble ... which is the opposite of peace.

And according to your dogmas, your image of a god is not one of peace either, as (within the theology) "he" created evil ... and allowed a devil to run rampant in his kingdom to in turn lure unsuspecting humans into evil.

Ridiculous blather.

Do you know the answer or are you just asking me in order to receive help while you are researching this topic?

I think this is a question that you will need to do the research on yourself, as I've already stated to you - multiple times, that I will not know the answer until the moment I die.

I'm not sure on why you aren't accepting of this statement.

As it already has answered your question.

Typical "Christian" - trying to twist words that have been stated into something you can use as ammunition to attack a person with.

At this point in our discussions, I've concluded that you are just like those "Christians" you seem to despise.

What is immoral behavior to you?
Thanks for asking that question.

Morals are judged within cultures.

If I was raised to believe in cannibalism, I would believe it was moral.

If I was raised as a Muslim, I would believe the ONLY moral thing to do would be to believe in Allah.

I would like to believe that I would never kill another human, as I believe that is immoral ... but I am not so naïve as to believe that in certain circumstances I would not kill, because down the road it might be perceived by me as "necessary" ... which would in turn change the whole image I previously held OF morality.
>>>>>>> >>>>>>> >>>>>>> >>>>>>> >>>>>>> >>>>>>> >>>>>>> >>>>>>> >>>

The Final Inequality, by L. J. Ludovici………..

Morals at any given moment have always been as good, or as bad, as our imaginations credit them, for the morals (from the Latin, mores: customs) means simply customs, and they keep changing all the time in all the corners of the world.

An example of "morals" comes back to me from reading of a priest who was worried on his death-bed that "god" would be disappointed in him for not having killed enough "heretics."

Human beliefs often put members of society is jeopardy.

That is because you seem to have a problem with being focussed on me instead of what I stated.

Maybe if you can be focussed on the topic and then read my posts again, you'll better understand that what you post has nothing to do with mine.

The World’s Sixteen Crucified Saviors … Christianity before Christ, by Kersey Graves … first published in 1875.

Repentance

In some cases their religion becomes worse, their religious ideas less sensible, and their moral conduct more objectionable, by “the change of heart” in getting religion. Mr. Spencer informs us that the Vewas, a sect or tribe of the Feegees, often cry for hours under conviction for sin. And what is the sin? Why, the neglect to offer sacrifices to their God. And those sacrifices consist in human beings, sometimes their own children. And their conviction, conversion, and repentance only make them more diligent in practicing this crime. It is evident, then, that their religion is at war with their humanity, and the former always triumphs in the contest.

just admit it. you saw someone on the internet who was catholic say it was in the bible and you believed it. you posted that on here and I called you on it and now you're stuck and look like a fool.
if I'm wrong, then give me the book and chapter of the bible...thanks
Actually, I read her books several times over. I read them over and over because the books are so beautifully written and wonderful. One of the books is called Calls. We worth it.

You and your "self"-image of knowledge, I find to be peculiar.

If you believe you are "spiritual" ... what do you believe happens to your "spirit" after your body dies?

Do you believe that it dies with your body, or does it fly away somewhere else?

I didn't state that it was immoral to kill. I stated that from how I believe it is immoral to kill.

But that doesn't mean that I won't kill, and it doesn't meant that I will harshly judge myself if I feel it's necessary to kill.

After all ... I am very pleased that the allied soldiers killed the Germans that fought under Hitler's regime in order to protect me from Hitler.

It's all a matter of what is unfolding in life at any time that speaks or does not speak to ones own conscience.

I suggest that concepts of morals should not be set in cement.

Here is another example of indoctrinated concept of morals in "effect."

Repentance

And we have an equally well authenticated case of an Indian of the Choctaw tribe, who had been taught to believe from early life that the white man was his natural enemy, and that it was his right and duty to kill him, repenting on his death-bed for having a short time previously neglected, when the opportunity presented, to dispatch a “pale face” he met in his travels. Instead of killing him, he yielded for the moment to the impulse of his better feelings, and passed him by. But on reviewing his past life at the approach of death, he came to the conclusion he had sinned in omitting to kill this man, and he grieved and lamented sorely over this dereliction of apprehended duty. Here we have a case of repentance sanctioning murder. Must we, therefore, conclude that murder is morally right, or a righteous act? Certainly, according to orthodox logic.
