I agree the bishops did SYSTEMATICALLY shuffling.
I do enjoy reading your posts.
Hi Judy.........I just give out information. The information catholics don't want to know.

I was raised a catholic. I remember in grade school religion class NEVER ask questions, just BELIEVE IT! the nun would scream! Next period spelling, ask all the questions you want, thats how you learn they would say.(LOL)

.....I am still asking questions, and still being told, just believe it.

<quoted text>MINNEAPOLIS -- Minnesota's Catholic community continued to absorb controversy within the church one day after learning former Archbishop Harry Flynn resigned from the Board of Trustees at the University of St. Thomas.
"It's too bad. It's too bad that it happened," said Roger Guzek, who attends the Basilica of St. Mary in Minneapolis.
"I'm disappointed that in 2013 the church still hasn't realized that abuse towards minors and covering it up is unacceptable," said Adam Tillotson, of St. Louis Park.
Flynn's resignation follows a difficult month for the Archdiocese amid a growing clergy sexual abuse scandal. Earlier this month, former Vicar General Kevin McDonough also resigned from the University of St. Thomas Trustees Board. And Rev. Peter Laird stepped down as Vicar General under Archbishop John Nienstedt.
Meantime, the Archdiocese continues to respond to accusations of a possible cover-up or mishandling of priest misconduct allegations, including the case involving Rev. Curtis Wehmeyer. Earlier this year, Wehmeyer was sentenced to five years in prison for sexually abusing two children and possessing child pornography.
And what's this got to do with the truth of Catholicism? unfortunately, we can't check out your church community because you're a coward who likes to anonymously preach the Gospel. And anonymously say he's a Minister.
Just like the Apostles did it. Anonymously. Lol

Michael says....If God has always existed (infinite), and God has a purpose, what was his purpose for all time, before mankind who only recently arrived in the past 1 million or so years?
What God would create billions of imperfect beings, only to have them relegated to a place of fire/suffering for all eternity because they were imperfect beings?
If there is a God he could have just created 100,000 beings or what number God wanted to who automatically went to heaven whenever he wanted them, instead of this long drawn out affair of Adam/Eve, Jesus, etc, living/dieing/needless suffering, people born with deformaties, murders, rapes, suicides, disease and famine......and the greatest of all FEAR!
Read the OT, God was an all punishing God. Not the God I would worship. In the NT somehow God EVOLVED or morphed into an all LOVING GOD.
UNBELIEVABLE!
And yet you once believed .

I did not remain Catholic

And decades later it was not a CHURCH that saved my soul ..

It was the calling to Christ of the Father ..through the Holy Spirit ..
It's not man or flawed institutions that call to us who are,of the world

ITS,GOD ..HIS,SON WHO SHED HIS,BLOOD FOR US,.

why does,He allow sin ..He,gave us,free will.

He COULD have created puppet angels, and human s ..He did not .
But HE gave His,Sons, life as a way to be healed.

Why the history of the ,Jews .
In those times ..wild people ..many gods spawned by Satan .

God chose an imperfect people to believe in ONLY HIM
HE BLESSED THEM when they did .

When they turned away they were conquered..

And into this conquered people His,Son Was born.
The messiah they knew was coming ..some accepted ..some defamed and killed Him.

But the message and sacrifice were given ...at a time
When there was an empire ..ships ..roads o travel o spread the word ...

YOU THINK.THIS TIMING WAS BY ACCIDENT ..A,PEOPLE WHO KNEW,GOD ...ROADS ??

And the Reformation ...bibles just before the NEW WORLD WAS SETTLED ..

MORE COINCIDENCE???

Even if we do not understand the how or why of GOD .

THERE IS NO DOUBT ..or should not be ..That HIS TIMING is perfect .

Out of the HORROR of the holocaust ...came the guilt .....from the
Power that this,Country had came the Alliance ...That brought back
The children of technology Diaspora. Israel was a country...bought by blood ..do tat never again could we free people turn away hose in terror to be put in those awful camps ..

GODS, plan. We had a part ..we had to have a conscience ...And power .

And a people INSISTING ON FREDOM OF WIRSHIP ...to take their FAITH and spread it ...they had faith and Yes they BUILT CHURCHES...BUT the
Faith they learned from their bibles and parents CAME BEFORE THE CHURCHES. we're built

And it was not dependent on someone in Rome to ok it

Yes THERE were Catholic missions, also ..spreading out from the SPANISH ,colonies,..

But one CHURCH alone did not build this nation....the CHURCH body of believers did ...

GODS TIMING ..

now it seems secularism is the popular ideal ...NO GOD ..And look where we are

So ..I ask you ..think of that JESUS,who was whipped ...torn and killed
In our place .. so we might live with HIM eternally

Not how,we do not agree with how,God does things but HIS ETERNITY EITH HIM

GOD BLESS,YOU

I wouldn't trust much of what you read from the marxist Star Tribune, they hate Archbishop Neinstedt because he fought so hard against gay marriage which was passed here in Minnesota last year. If I search the internet, you think I might find some bad stuff on protesant preachers in Ohio?

Catholics themselves are just as much part of this troubling problem as are the clergy. For some reason instead of demanding accountability, there is always an excuse, that it wasn't that bad, or others are doing it to.

Catholics who pay all the bills for the church including the salaries and generous benefits of all the clergy should demand accountability for their hard earned money.

Thank you for that beautiful proof that to be a Christian demands either utter dishonesty or complete ignorance.
The greatest proof of the fraud of Christianity is Christians themselves.

----------
Your sweet disposition and kindness to others prove (NOT) your wisdom and knowledge. Your lies on Christianity are revealing, too.

The Bible requires something better...even though some Christians have some 'growing up' to do. Even in their immaturity, they present a better attitude.

Just goes to show there is a PERVERTED sub-culture among men of the cloth. Your own church admitted their was a gay culture back in the 70s/80s and today there are more gay catholic clergy than the general population of men. Father Donald Cozzens has the stats.
There are 67 million catholics in america. 155 million protestants. Most of the stories associated with sexual abuse by men of the cloth came up catholic....every city, every country.
When you and I were young, priests taught us it was a grave sin to cover up sin and we were not to receive the Eucharist with such sins on our souls, yet countless numbers of serial clergy abusers gave themselves holy communion at every mass they said. The rest of the clergy who knew of these sins also gave themselves holy communion knowing they too were covering up sin.

Bag of hot air! Bible says man was created from dirt, and woman from a mans rib. Imagine that!. lol!

Based on belief you say! Yes! every religion is based on belief. Every religion believes they are right. To date not one religion has the smoking gun of truth, for if they did we we would all be one BELIEF.

Belief can never be a FACT or absolute truth, because to be a fact or truth it can't just be a belief.

1.) Get the stats from Cozzens, then, and cite them please.

2.) You're asserting here that gay men are pedophiles?

3.) Most protestant churches don't report "up". They are self-contained vs. Catholic churches.

4.) You still haven't informed us as to how "most" clergy knew what bad acts any of their fellows were doing.

5.) Any priest who's ever lived has been a sinner. They still have to administer the Sacraments.

Atually, what's happened is that we've strengthened our vigilance to ensure the safty and well-being of the children in care of any Church activities.

Pre-screeing, etc. is very rigorous.

Doing something, admittedly, isn't as glamorous or dramatic as screeching on a message board.

Your assumptions that every priest would know if one of their fellows had committed a sexual offense.
Thus, a lot of your post.
When men graduated from a seminary they were placed into a diocese. Usually they spend the next 50 years moving from parish to parish within the diocese. All priests in that diocese over time get to know each other, they share living accomodations with each other, they sleep in the same house, eat together, socialize together, they know each others strengths and weaknesses, get moved to another parish. I would say within a very few years every priest in the diocese knows each other priest to some degree.

During the past 50 years there have been thousands of priests who have been caught buggering children, and I am sure any priest in a diocese would know details that we wouldn't know. Over this time NOT ONE PRIEST ever dialed 9-1-1 to rat out another priest. It was ALWAYS the victims or their families who showed up at the parish or diocese demanding accountability. News travels fast.

NOW! the church has done a reversal. Every priest who gets caught, everyone dials 9-1-1 to apprehend the culprit so he could be done with in our justice system.

The bishops that covered up these crimes for these priests before, are now instructed to blow the whistle on the very same men they were covering up for in the first place.

I was a firefighter for 30 years. Over 500 men/women on the department. There wasn't much we didn't know about each other in all aspects..........and remember we went home after our shift, these priests are in contact and together 24/7 for 50 plus years.
