A perfect example of internecine Christian bickering.
I have an idea: how about we just go right to God and ask!
"Hey God! Can you please clarify yourself on these matters for us, since this is purportedly so important to you?"
*silence*
Hmmmmm. Must be on a lunch break.
God speaks of you and your ilk:

the Wod of God speaks of you...

This second epistle, beloved, I now write unto you; in both which I stir up your pure minds by way of remembrance:

That ye may be mindful of the words which were spoken before by the holy prophets, and of the commandment of us the apostles of the Lord and Saviour:

Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,

And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished

But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

Where is the truth?
- as of this moment, all is just speculation.
- the truth will arrie when we die.
To say otherwise is arrogant, egotistical, and uninformed.
New Age Spiritual Leader:

When you ask the question, I see the Truth standing before Pontius Pilate. That is where the Truth is.

Pilate more or less resigned himself from, and, to the Truth. And we view him as a coward for this resignation. For he had the power to save, but did not. But he alone is not the coward in the whole affair, as all abandoned Jesus. It is for the Christian to understand, and fight the fear of humiliation, suffering and death.

I already explained my reason, several times.

I am on this forum to give people the chance to escape religion, as I escaped religion.

Those who don't want to won't ... and those who want to will.

And if you check why you are here, you want to pick apart the beliefs of those in OTHER religions and make your own seem the only one of high value.

Otherwise you would just be content to go to church and back home ... and church and back home ... and church and back home until you die of church-ite-is ... church-it is.

I didn't say that, but if you are going to refute assertions, you'll need to utilize all the available information, and not just stop with whatever you think you should.

With you questioning me, only goes to show you agree that you have been short changed with the belief you have.

Bummer for you.

Any meanings can and have been dragged out of that bible and put to use by finger-pointing, sword-wielding, match-lighting hellions in the guises of love ... and all in the name of the one god "Jehovah."

How do you preserve the truth if you just hand everyone a Bible.
Please, your ignorance is so frustrating. Can't you look around and see the different Christianities? That's the result of people like yourself deciding what the teachings of Jesus Christ should be, based on how you interpret the scriptures. Man, you guy are so different than Protestantism 80 yrs ago... and you look nothing like the original Protestantism.
How can the truth be preserved if you have alot of men deciding upon what everyone should believe?

Where does it say that Adam ever ate from the Tree of Life?
There were two forbidden trees. A & E only ate from one: knowledge of good and evil. They were kicked out BEFORE they could eat from the second.
Genesis 3:22-23: And the Lord God said,“The man has now become like one of us, knowing good and evil. He must not be allowed to reach out his hand and take also from the tree of life and eat, and live forever.” So the Lord God banished him from the Garden of Eden to work the ground from which he had been taken.
Adam never ate from the Tree of Life.
So-called "Christians" love to spin the text any way they can, but without honesty or even trying to understand what the words mean.....fuhgettaboutit!!

They prefer to abide what other men tell them to believe.

They are scared of the truth.

Shoot - an example is "Dan's" question whether or not the link to The Apocryphon of John that I supplied, should he affirm it.
- The vision is attributed to one of the Apostles, but he seems to reject it for some other reason(s)- allowing for men to dictate his belief.

Exactly my point.

As you can see - "Dan" - a Catholic - just couldn't resist answering you with double-talk and twist your post to sound like you are the bad guy, when your post had nothing to do with his response.

But he sure thought it did. That is fear of the truth speaking. It seems he can;t control it.

That's not what I said. Stay focused. Jesus DIDN'T forgo His authority when He gave Peter the Keys to the Kingdom of Heaven. You implied Jesus couldn't have given Peter the Keys because He still had them when He visited John in the Book of Revelation. I said its reckless using Revelation to undo the clear conversation Christ had in Matthew 16:18 with Simon- now called Peter.
- the Catholic Church has much more than Bible passages to show its legitimacy. She has historic fact; writings from the first Christians; continuity and order; as well as reason and logic. They compiled the Bible even though Christ never commanding them to do it. Its their sacred scriptures Kay. They held council and determined the set of canon that they considered Biblical. They hand wrote the Books and finally printed and published them in 1254 AD.
Later, irresponsible men read those Books, specifically focusing on each individual verse, to establish their own take on the Ministry of Jesus Christ. These men added a false concept called 'scripture alone' despite Our Lord never teaching it. Its amazing you cling to it when you can't even show Christ teaching it.

wilderide:

Well, I thought I showed you two proofs already which shows God knowledge is independent of our free-will. So I can't press the case further at this time, and just repeat myself.

First, our behavior is different from God, and secondly God is an uncreated being. This "disconnect" displays that our linguistics is not sophisticated enough. But let us move forward....

Perhaps though we may agree on God's Providence regarding the "outcome" of the temporal world in eternity?

In short, because God knows the outcome, some quality of God interacts with Creation. Yes, perhaps that is why you press so hard on an either/or, free-will/no-omniscience posit? So I can agree with such a statement. What about you?

I am not trying to circumvent your posit, rather, finding a new way to frame it here, so that I can answer to your satisfaction, and mine.

BTW - how is it that you ans Kay Marie know what "God" can or cannot do.

Do you two have some special goggles or communication device that allows "Him" to speak to you two directly, and noone else?

This is a revelation....a Protestant and a Catholic both know what "God" can and cannot do.

Conscience is the self-correcting mechanism God created for us, because He cares for us. Of course some deny its existence.(They are still in the dark.)

And maybe Christians on the forum are here because they know their local churches can't contain the Truth, and are here to share, and try to express the Truth, that Jesus is their Savior. And they each reflect a way of thinking about the Truth.
