But I guess you need to hold an alien in your hands to truly beleive this, right?
How much evidence do you require in order to believe? You must have some sort of number in mind.
I need to see one, and I also need to see the UFO in which the alien came to earth.

I've already studied many stories of humans having UFO encounters, and found them lacking in credibility.

The question Clay asked you about being born again is typical of Catholics...they don't even know what that means!!!!!
They, like Nico, asking "what does it mean to be born again" says it is a safe bet that they ain't!!! And being "ain't" they will not enter Heaven...per Scripture...
Hold the horses! YOU'RE a Born Again too??

You don't even believe Christ and God are one!

Why are the other Born Agains remaining silent as your breathern Ox is preaching contrary to the other 'holy spirit-led' born agains?
His soul may be at stake and your not going te call him out because he shares your anti catholic agenda??
As a Catholic I would EXPECT Anthony, Dust Storm and the others to call me out should I error on Catholic understandings.(in fact they have)
I wouldn't take it as an insult either, because they would do it out of duty to their fellow brother.

As you say religion if it is true, then I say it is the True Religion.
It is difficult to pass on wisdom through history, since history is so distorted. Wisdom is acquired by those who seek it.
Why do put faith in Christian theology being based on truth ... and not in the theology of other religions as being based on truth?

Could it be that promise of salvation???

You keep indicating that Jesus is real, and indicating that you know what Jesus said and did ... so you MUST believe you know.

You also seem to believe you know that aliens are real.

I obviously know what? At the "zenith of the Jewish nation," maybe?
I don't think many Jews would describe it that way, being occupied by Rome, but oh well.
You do make a GREAT point. If Jesus was so well known and did his thing so the whole world would know, then why are there no contemporary accounts (e.g. during his lifetime) in Greek, or Latin, or Hebrew? We have hard evidence for most of the major players, but not for this God.
Heck, you claim God was on earth for 32 years in the middle of trade routes -- so the whole world would get the message -- and we have only sketchy, hearsay accounts of his last two years only, along with a few stories of him as a child.
Now THAT is amazing. And given the lack of hard evidence (his very existence is still in debate and cannot be proven in a court of law), yes it was "in a corner" as you say.
God is imaginary.
funny, we're talking about Jesus right now; you and me over the www! i'm from the USA which wasn't even known 2,000 years ago and i'm not sure where you're from but probably not Galilee.

before we speculate about some remote tribe hidden deep in obscurity somewhere, let's ask "what will YOUR excuse be"?

I am not disputing Jesus' teaching authority since Jesus didn't write the thing.
Don't you find it odd that there is not one bit of writing by a man named Jesus, or his signature to be found anywhere on earth?

Yet he was supposed to be a man of great knowledge ... a teacher of Judaism ... a rabbi of the most honest and forth-right nature.

If you can't see something is a-mock with that picture ... my guess is, the word "salvation" is blocking your view.

Don't you love it, I went to a flea market once bought two Chinese prints for 25 cent each.
Thing is they were not prints, and the frames where the originals printed with real gold .
I still have them, they are from 1942 year before I was born.
My husbands family are into all that stuff had their own antique store for awhile.
I bought a box for $10.00, just with rings, earrings etc. custom jewelry, one of the rings was beautiful it turned out to be a pear shape real diamond ring.
I didn't realize it for about a year later, because I just put the stuff in a box. Took it out for a yard sale, it is worth about a $1000.00 I wish I could have found the person I know she must miss her ring.
I asked all over the place for her.
some people do get lucky, because most people do not know much about antiques, people have come across vases, paintings etc. that they paid a few bucks for and it turned out to be worth thousands.i could use a little bit of that luck. going to start learning, read what i can find on line as to what to look for in antiques.i need to do something, doctor is fighting me on going back to work,i'd like to but he insists it's not good for me health wise, all because of the chemotherapy treatments i have to do constantly for the rest of my life,so maybe if i learn a little about antiques,i may get lucky. i may have,i bought a penn saltwater reel that is old and in excellent condition,i know it's old because it's in it's original box and the store name where it was purchased is on it and i know this store closed down back in the 60's,I only paid $5.00 for it and i know i can get 30 to 50 bucks for it on e-bay.another way i have made money is i would buy broken sears craftsman ratchets, and bring them to the sears store and get a new one since they are unconditionally gaurenteed for life.I waited till i had 25 of them went on e-bay and sold them for less than sears price,i did quite well money wise, but i don't get to enjoy it,the money all goes to my medical bills....would of loved to be the person who hit the powerball last saturday i'd be debt free, and so would be my family and close friends, and a large donation to the jimmy-fund,that is a fundraiser for cancer research for children, and it helps people who struggle to pay the bills,it's a very good cause.

I don't believe or trust the theology of any religion as being based on truth.

At one time I trusted my own theology as being based on truth ... but then I realized that was only my ego telling me I was wise and knew more than others.

Far greater minds than yours or mine have determined that such an event is most UNwelcome. It's that 'self' which you're so fond of promoting. What you're describing has been tried before, sans the technology......and lost, thankfully.
It's not all good, Nasl. That attitude, that "spiritual knowledge" or "gnosis" is responsible for the deaths of millions of infants every year, for countless suicides when it's discovered that gratifying every whim, sexual or otherwise, doesn't bring the expected fulfillment, the destruction of society because I'm okay, you're okay, and no one's going to tell me I can't and get away with it, it's my "right". What foot-stomping childishness.
I don't agree that Christian beliefs will be in the minority. The people speak but too quietly, at least for now. The politicians have their own 'spiritual enlightenment' going on, so they follow the secularist money trail. But there are too many bright young things coming up through the Christian ranks. And an abundance of highly educated 'elders' to mentor them. Things are going your way for the moment, so enjoy it. It won't last.
I agree. Tower of Babel was the first attempt at one world government and religion. Now it's being tried again.

The question was: The modern born again movement began in the 20th century. Prior to that, You had essentially Lutherans, Methodist, Anglicans and Presbyterians - all spawning from Luther, Calvin, the King of England, and John Wesley. Now, your Christianity looks entirely different then those, so I assume they are NOT true Born Agains?
So I can conclude that you believe Jesus Christ waited to y'all did your alter call, to reveal His true Ministry??
please explain if I am wrong. I'm trying to understand your theology and why no two 'born agains' on this forum can agree on very important Christian teachings.
God's word does not change Clay, being born-again of the Spirit is the same today as it was in Nicodemas's day.

And yes all us born-agains do all agree with important Christian teachings, Baptism, Communion, being born-anew.

The Viking "god" Odin, supposedly had two ravens he sent out in the morning and they would bring him information every evening concerning what was occurring in other areas.

That was the mythology.

NOW ... if you want to know how far humans can stretch their imaginations ... some of those who believe in aliens, have changed the symbols of the ravens into two space-crafts that the supposed god Odin sent out in the morning and came back in the evening with information.

And PRESTO a new myth was born out of the old ... by shape-shifting mental-magicians with over-active imaginations.

Ok, but your interpretations of Gods word is different than the Protestants a hundred yrs ago. After you acknowledge this fact, tell me why? Do you believe Jesus Christ waited til the Born Again movement of the 20th century to reveal His true Ministry?

That sounds cult-like in every way, shape and form.

Because they had the authority to select which books would be in the canon of scripture. Because they were leaders of the Church. Because the Church they were members of was the Church Jesus established. Because Jesus said His Church would not be overcome by the gates of Hell. Because I believe Jesus is the Son of God and is our Savior. Because I believe there is a God who is omnibenevalent.
Since God is all good and loving and He created people, it makes sense that He seeks to have a loving relationship with His people. To have a loving relationship of any kind, it requires that the lover and the beloved know each other. Therefore, it makes sense that God has revealed Himself so that we could know Him and be known by Him. Thus He has established His Church which possesses these revealed truths about God. And in matters of teaching on faith and morals, the Church does not err. Therefore I can trust that those men chose the correct books to put in the Bible.

WOW!! Really.

You just can't believe Jesus upon his word - you require others to confirmt that they are accurate.

....and you never even did that.

this is not about atheism,it's about communism, well known fact karl marx, joeseph stalin killed millions just like the catholic church did because they would not follow their leadership, and stalin was mentally ill,Alexander Myasnikov was one of the doctors called to Stalin's deathbed when the dictator fell ill in 1953, and, in diaries that have been kept secret up to now, he claimed that Stalin suffered from a brain illness that could have impaired his decision-making.

"The major atherosclerosis in the brain, which we found at the autopsy, should raise the question of how much this illness - which had clearly been developing over a number of years - affected Stalin's health, his character and his actions," The Independent quoted Myasnikov as writing in his diaries.

"Stalin may have lost his sense of good and bad, healthy and dangerous, permissible and impermissible, friend and enemy. Character traits can become exaggerated, so that a suspicious person becomes paranoid," the doctor wrote.

"I would suggest that the cruelty and suspicion of Stalin, his fear of enemies... was created to a large extent by atherosclerosis of the cerebral arteries," Myasnikov wrote in his diaries.

"The country was being run, in effect, by a sick man," Myasnikov added.

The excerpts have been published for the first time in the Russian newspaper Moskovsky Komsomolets.

were the popes who sanctioned the killing of millions mentally ill also? they claim it was gods will they carry out the crusades and inquisition.

You are starting to sound like another poster on another forum - RiversideRecdneck....he also wants everyone to prove "love".

One cannot prove an emotion, but only show things or actions that can cause the emotion to manifest.

Again - free will is part of the equation.
