You used an Episcopal church website as your proof that the Catholic Church charges for confessions. The Episcopal community is no more a part of the Catholic Church than the Lutherans are. And now your confused about the lease agreement between a former Episcopal community and their old diocese.
I think it's time we called a TKO jethro.
i'm not confused,if i looked further i'm sure i could find other sites that will tell me the same thing, and you'll just discredit it like everything that sheds a bad (truth)light on the church.

The church has so strayed from what Christ laid down, that it absolutely cannot be the true church that Christ started.

Jesus didn't start the pedophile cover up HE WOULD HAVE EXPOSED IT!
Jesus didn't start the Inquisition, HE WOULD HAVE STOPPED IT!
Jesus didn't sanction torture! He would rather bear the torture of others upon himself.
THAT would be the absolute indication of the keys Jesus transferred to those who truly are doing his will.
thanks for clearing that up for me,and your right if jesus/god existed and the P/C church is his church, being the spirit that he suppose to be,he would not have allowed the atrocities that the church has committed, the church is no different than sodom&gamora, some of the popes brought the church to bankruptcy because of their debotchery, orgies, parties, havi ng statues made of themselves, molesting nuns and slave men, women and children. Pope Leo X was pretty bad when it came to spending money ,Leo aptly illustrates his greatest priority:“Since God has given us the papacy, let us enjoy it.” According to Alexandre Dumas,“Christianity assumed a pagan character” as Leo doggedly pursued worldly pleasures. So financially unstable did his position become that he was eventually forced to pawn off furniture, jewels, and statues from the palace, as well as borrow huge sums of money from creditors (who were ultimately ruined when he died).
In addition to living a life of splendor, Leo practiced nepotism, famously used the sale of indulgences to finance the reconstruction of St. Peter’s Basilica, and was even accused of homosexuality. In fact, some sources hold that he died in bed while getting it on with a youth. That accusation may or may not be true, of course, but one thing is for sure: Leo certainly let his love of luxury get the best of him. Pope Julius III (1487 – 1555)Julius withdrew to his palace and spent the majority of his time seeing to his own personal pleasures and keeping out of political affairs.it was his relationship with a boy named Innocenzo that tarnished his name more than anything. Julius discovered Innocenzo as a young beggar in Parma before ascending to the pontificate, and he adopted him as his own nephew. When Julius became pope, he elevated Innocenzo to the status of cardinal-nephew and bestowed many gifts and benefices upon him. In fact, the relationship between Julius and Innocenzo showed signs of being much more intimate than normal family ties, and many reports indicate that Julius actually had an extended sexual affair with the young man.

JESUS DEFINED THE WORKS OF GOD...

Joh 6:28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?
Joh 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

THIS IS WHAT PAUL AND SILAS TAUGHT THE JAILOR AT Philippi...

Act 16:30 And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?

Act 16:31 And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Act 16:32 And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.

Act 16:33 And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.

Act 16:34 And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.

The Roman Catholic Religious system put a mountain of Calisthenics to be adhered to...such as the "The scribes and the Pharisees" did...

Mat 23:1 Then spake Jesus to the multitude, and to his disciples,

Mat 23:2 Saying, The scribes and the Pharisees sit in Moses' seat:

Mat 23:3 All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.

Mat 23:4 ===> they bind heavy burdens and grievous to be borne, and lay them on men's shoulders; but they themselves will not move them with one of their fingers.

___

Eph_2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ,(by grace ye are saved;)

Eph_2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Long before Christianity, can't you just picture each group in varying cultures that believed a savior was coming again, arguing about which ones would be saved and which ones would be disowned by the gods???

Other tellers of fortunes probably argued over which ones saw the correct pictures of the future in the crystal balls.

To brag about knowing the future is to overestimate the ability of the self.

We have an instilled fear built into us. Some more fearful than others.

I personally believe what happens to me, happens to everyone.

Everyone of every belief taught mostly by their parents that their way is right and everyone else is wrong.

We will all find out in the end. I have lived a good life, never abused alcohol, never did drugs, never stole from anyone, helped those that needed help, never been arrested........How many so called christians can claim that today and claim to be better than everyone else?

From the magazine “Good Old Days” 1982 edition, comes the following poem. I don’t know who wrote it, but it was sent in by Sara J. Overholt.

St. Peter At The Gate.

St. Peter stood at the golden gate
With a solemn mien and an air sedate
When up to the top of the golden stairs
A woman and a man, ascending there
Applied for admission, they came and stood
Before St. Peter, so great and good
In hopes the city of peace to win
And asked St. Peter to let them in.

The woman was tall and lank and thin
With a scraggly beardlet upon her chin
The man was short and thick and stout
His stomach was built so it rounded out
His face was pleasant and all the while
He wore a kindly and genial smile
The choirs in the distance the echo woke
And the man kept still while the woman spoke

Oh thou who gaurdest the gate said she
We two came hither beseeching thee
To let us enter the heavenly land
And play our harps with the angel band
Of me St. Peter, there is no doubt
There’s nothing from heaven to bar me out
I’ve been to meeting three times a week
And almost always I’d rise to speak

I’ve told the sinners about the day
When they’d repent of their evil way
I’ve told my neighbors, I’ve told them all
‘Bout Adam and Eve and the primal fall
I’ve shown them what they’d have to do
If they’d pass in with the chosen few
I’ve marked their path of duty clear
Laid out the plan for their whole career

I’ve talked and talked to them loud and long
For my lungs are good and my voice is strong
So good St. Peter, you will clearly see
The Gate of Heaven is open to me
But my old man, I regret to say
Hasn’t walked in exactly the narrow way
He smokes and he swears and grave faults he’s got
And I don’t know whether he’ll pass or not
He never would pray with an earnest vim
Or go to revival, or join in a hymn
So I had to leave him in sorrow there
While I, with the chosen, united in prayer
He ate what the pantry chanced to afford
While I, in my purity, sang to the lord
And if cucumbers were all he got
It’s a chance if he merited them or not

But oh St. Peter, I love him so
To the pleasure of heaven, please let him go
I’ve done enough, a saint I’ve been
Won’t that atone? Can’t you let him in?
By my grim gospel, I know ‘tis so
That the unrepentant must fry below
But isn’t there some way you can see
That he may enter who’s dear to me?

It’s a narrow gospel, by which I pray
But the chosen expect to find a way
Of coaxing, or fooling, or bribing you
So that their relations can amble through
And say St. Peter, it seems to me
This gate isn’t kept as it ought to be
You ought to stand by the opening there
And never sit down in that easy chair

St. Peter ... continued

And say, St. Peter, my sight is dimmed
But I don’t like the way your whiskers are trimmed
They’re cut too wide and outward toss
They’d look better narrow and cut straight across
Well we must be going, our crown to win
So open St. Peter and we’ll pass in

St. Peter sat quiet and stroked his staff
But in spite of his office, he had to laugh
Then said, with a fierce gleam in his eye
Who’s tending this gateway, you or I?
And then he rose, in his stature tall
And pressed a button upon the wall
And said to the imp who answered the bell
Escort the lady around to hell

The man stood still as a piece of stone
Stood sadly, gloomily, there alone
A life-long settled idea he had
That his wife was good and he was bad
He thought if the woman went down below
That certainly, he would have to go
That if she went to the regions dim
There wasn’t a ghost of a chance for him

Slowly he turned, by habit bent
To follow wherever the woman went
St. Peter, standing on duty there
Observed that the top of his head was bare
He called the gentleman back and said
Friend, how long have you been wed
Thirty years (with a weary sigh)
And then thoughtfully added, Why?
St. Peter was silent, with head bent down
He raised his hand and scratched his crown
Then seeming a different thought to take
Slowly, half to himself he spake
Thirty years, with that woman there
No wonder the man hasn’t any hair
Swearing is wicked, smokin’s no good
He smoked and swore, I should think he would
Thirty years with that tongue so sharp
Ho, Angel Gabriel, give him a harp
A jeweled harp, with a golden string
Good sir, pass in, where the angels sing

Gabriel, give him a seat alone
One with a cushion, up near the thrown
Call up some angels, to play their best
Let him enjoy the music and rest
See that on finest ambrosia he feeds
He’s had about all the hell he needs
It isn’t just hardly the thing to do
To roast him on earth and in future to

They gave him a harp, with gold strings
A glittering robe and a pair of wings
And he said, as he entered the realm of Day
Well, this beats cucumbers anyway
And so the scripture had come to pass
That “The last shall be first and the first shall be last!”

check out religion history from the past.....

....... Ancient cultures all around the Mediterranean shared standard ideas about Gods and their powers and place in the universe and that Christianity simply adopted those ideas and applied them to their Jesus.

..... Ancient people knew godmen did miracles. The first Christians thought Jesus was a godman, so they told stories about Jesus doing miracles. They even had Him doing the same miracles as the other godmen that came before. Thats not good!

......The core of Christianity—the worship of a miracle working, walking, talking godman who brings salvation—was ALSO! the core of other ancient religions that began at least a thousand years before Jesus.

......Heaven, hell, prophecy, ETERNAL SALVATION!, demon possession, sacrifice, initiation by baptism, communion with God through a holy meal, the Holy Spirit, monotheism, immortality of the soul, and many other "Christian" ideas all belonged to earlier, older Pagan faiths. They were simply part of ancient Mediterranean culture. Along with miracle working sons of God, born of a mortal woman, they were common elements of pre-Christian Pagan religion. Mithras had 'em. So did Dionysus, Attis, Osiris, and Orpheus. And more.

And they had them generations—centuries— before Jesus was first ever mentioned by St. Paul.

Wouldn't one believe all the elements of christianity would be unique to christianity? NOT SO!

.......something is wrong!

check it out.........its all part of our history...

Jesus came into this world as a little baby, born in an obscure cave outside an obscure little village, grew up in an humble household and submitted to the authorities; his parents, the Law, and to God the Father.
He did not arrive in a big fancy blaze of glory like the Jews thought He would, like satan thought He would, like you think He should have.
History tells us god/men and goddesses from the past who practiced the same customs/traditions/elements that christianity adopted for itself were mostly powerful men/women in their communities.

Jesus was advanced forward by a small group of men, ONLY long after he supposedly died, yet scriptures claim he was very well known by almost everyone in Judea.

The catholic fathers never saw any writings about this man Jesus, until 160-175 AD.

Jesus only became famous long after he supposedly died. Why? Because the writers could write anything they wanted about this man because being dead he couldn't refute any tall story they wrote about him.

The first 3 centuries christianity was all over the map. Christian cults popped up everywhere because there was no early plan of operation, or rules and regulations. Early christians never believed that Christ actually lived as a human. They thought of him as a spirit only. Stories created and handed down from generation to generation.

The early christian fathers were told by Constantine just pick one of the christian beliefs and run with it. So they did, and family-hand-me-down traditional indoctrination has carried it on to today.

Candice Delong ... a former criminal F.B.I profiler claims that the main reason for people killing each other is "jealousy."

I believe from studying history that the killing that resulted from religion was because of jealousy.

For instance Protestants and Catholics killed each other over being jealous of the same supposed god's affections.

"He loves me!"

"NO HE DOES NOT, HE LOVES ME!!!"

"I'm going to heaven!"

"NO, YOU'RE NOT. I'M GOING TO HEAVEN!!!"

And so it goes.

When people believed Messiahs were expected, devout believers often took it upon their selves to assess if some person or other was indeed the Messiah. Such was the case in the following when followers almost created (in their minds) a Jewish Messiah.

Barcochebah, or Barcochebas (barkoche e ba). In Hebrew means “Son of a star”. One Simeon, a heroic Jewish leader against the Romans, who is reputed to have claimed to be the “Star out of Jacob” mentioned in Num. xxiv, 17, was so called. He took Jerusalem in 132 and was acclaimed by some as the MESSIAH. He was overwhelmed and slain by the forces of Julius Severus in 135.

As religious editor I lost the final shreds of a tattered faith. I covered the major sermons of the day or least procured transcripts or briefs, interviewed evangelists and priests, and came to the conclusion that religion was bunk. As Clem Davies, the local Bible thumper, told the press in a rare piece of off-the-record candour:“Boys, I found there was money in this God stuff.”

My professional counselor friends have often told me this is the area their clients are least equipped to deal with, irrespective of their religious affiliation.
