Trinity Baptist Church (Jacksonville, FL): A TV station in Jacksonville, Florida, reported that Trinity leaders knew for years their former pastor was a pedophile, but covered it up for fear public knowledge would harm the churchs ministry, shipping the minister to Germany where he served 10 years as a missionary, possibly with access to other children. Trinity continues to retain as its senior pastor the man who, according to news reports and a smoking-gun tape-recording was at the helm of that reported cover-up. Accusers said it was well known by other church officials as well, and that they knew for decades.

Victory Baptist Church (Andalusia, AL): Allowed pastor Ralph Lee Aaron to move on to another church after a complaint about inappropriate conduct with a kid. So, they got the guy off their own turf, but what did they do to warn others? A few years later, Aaron was charged on numerous counts of sexual abuse and sexual torture of 8 to 12 year-old boys.

Wayside Baptist Church (Miami, Florida): Church members chartered a bus to go to the jail to show support for their youth minister before his sentencing on sex crimes against numerous teen church boys. Apparently they had no problem forgiving the molesting minister -- after all, he had repented. The boy who brought the ministers serial sex abuse to light said what was nearly as damaging as the abuse was the fact that even after the abuse was exposed and admitted, the church made more of an effort to forgive and support the abuser than to heal the abused.

· Instead of punishing child molesters, theyre simply moved from place to place without anyone getting a heads up.
· It takes almost a year-and-a-half to investigate claims of abuse.
· If the accused is guilty of touching a minor or accessing porn on a computer, he can continue working provided he sees a shrink.
· Even molesters who admit to their crimes are given a second chance.
· Those empowered to do the investigation are mandated to seek rehabilitation for the offender.
· The investigators are not commissioned from the outside, rather they are all staffed from the inside.
· Deals are routinely cut for accused molesters in secret, protecting the identity of the molester from the community.
· The accused molesters not only walk, they walk away with cash settlements, health insurance and letters of recommendationjust so long as they agree to get lost.
Catholic League president Bill Donohue commented as follows:
The above is taken from a splendid two-part series on the problem of child sexual abuse in the Oregon public schools; it was published on February 17 and 18 in The Oregonian. The same problemmolestation, secret deals, inside investigations, rehabexists nationwide. Oh, yes, so does the phenomenon of passing the trash to other school districts.
So wheres the outcry? If this were the Catholic Church, there would be calls for resignations and punitive measures. It only goes to show that kids dont matterwhat matters is the identity of the alleged abuser.
True to form, when a Republican lawmaker in Oregon wanted to suspend rules to deal with this immediately, he was denounced by the Democrats. By the way, of the $53,000 given by the Oregon Education Association to legislators since November 2006, over 90 percent went to the Democrats. Not until the public schools model themselves on Catholic reforms will this problem be checked.

AGAIN you state along with the prots who disclose evils done by Catholic priests, ministers who do terrible things to young women or men.It is the imperfection of our humanity due to sin which keeps us all wallowing in the pit as we see both others and ourselves as sinners on this earth.
No one is born holy, although babies are precious in His sight, and deserving of every consideration while they are in that state. That is why ABORTION is so evil,it destroys creation, which alone is in God's hands. We human beings fail to see that God alone has property rights to us all.He created the first human beings, and gave to all human kind the ability to PRO-CREATE!
But human beings are cursed when they give into sin,any type, no matter what it is.We all have to deal with some kind of behavior due to sin,and that does not stop just because we decide to go to a college, and get a degree. The man or woman who gets a degree in Divinity does not fair any greater,as they are prone to whatever sin is formed in their heart to do.A matter of will.
That minister who ravaged a young girl (lecherous as he is) had in his heart a passion for such long before he even decided to take on a mantle of ministry.HOW SAD!How despicable, and "BE sure your sin will find you out."
That is why Dust Storm I do not waste too much time ranting about priests who fall from grace,as all flesh is prone to sin, including mine as well.We are all a step away from forsaking God and living by our own lustful passions.EVEN older men fall prey to doing such things, and it is a fine line between sin and holiness.Sin is a temptation away.

Now you know, religion is about control and power over its victims. All followers are victims of brainwashing or abuse. It better they get raped than strap a bomb
(Martyr) to their chests....or is it?
#419802 Feb 3, 2013
Trust me when I tell you, when a young minister or older for that matter violates children, the whole church is wiped out for months over it.There is such shame and torment over that sin.The minister is usually let go,some have been arrested. The family of the victims often leave that church.
I t is quite obvious that sex scandals tear who church communities apart.Several years ago the senior pastor's son-in-law of a particular church in my city made sexual advances toward a girl in his church. He was the youth pastor, and supposedly he was never found to have actually had sex with any girl in that church outside of his wife. But that scandal tore that church to shreds. The Senior Pastor took a sabbatical for a year,a visiting pastor took over his pulpit. The son-in-law actually was arrested and of course he is no longer with his wife.
Just recently it is known that the senior pastor has returned to his pulpit. The church lost half of its congregation, and he struggles with trying to stay afloat. The media showed little mercy, and while the scandal was in its peak time, every day for several weeks one could read about or hear about that church and its sin. Sex scandals more than anything else destroys churches with a severity unmatched by even political scandals of the same.

"Sin is a reproach to any people."You have known since your own start on this planet that people do terrible things in all facets of life.Political or religious fervor all stems from the same trigger points in the brain.People are prone to fanaticism in all venues of life, why is being religious and a zealot any different than a rabid politician who is consumed by political ambition or the need to serve to prove loyalties?
All sin is rebellion against God,no matter who commits it,or partakes of it.It is our way of doing our own thing, standing erect as it were in our own pride, that is the roots of sin all sin, a pride to be independent of anything or person who would restrict our movements, who would inhibit our inner most desires.
#419805 Feb 3, 2013
Sin is a human condition, it goes with being human. Religion uses it as a tool to control its followers....example: The priest that raped children......wait, not a good example.Maybe, one more commandment should be added: "Thou shelt not covet alter boys". Maybe no sin would have taken place. Religion is learned, its for the weak minded who cant find their own way in life or deal with reality.........life is tough.People of religious backgrounds fell that gay humans are repusive because their faith tells them so........a sin. Really? Gays have been around for ever, they used to be called "gay" or happy humans. People need to think on their own and no let a faith rule their screwed up life.

Depends on the church and the prevailing attitudes. Evangelical Eddie Long recently settled with 4 men out of court who said he abused them. Martin Luther King Juniors daughter resigned from the board. Abuse is a serious problem, but pointing at the Catholic church as the King is plain ignorance and arrogance and shows a complete lack of concern for the children. The super Holy people Preston and Confrint and atheists who have none. Gag.. The fact is the public schools are doing little to nothing. These people need to be identified and weeded out. Sending them to prison for 3 years and out on probation in a few months and failed counseling is the answer? So what do you do with them? It is a fact that substiute teachers rarely have their criminal records searched. What we know today is not what we knew back in the 50s and 60s. So what action is being taken?
If the news lumped every protestant sect together and reported it Nationally like they do the church or Penn State then maybe something would change and people would not be under the false assumption its a Catholic thing as many in here have proven they believe adnauseum. Many many stories go unpublished or are published locally. Churches or orgnanizations with little clout or money are not big news. Show me which church publishes publicly abuse reports like the church does. Show me the concerned politicians who paid for paid for independent studies. Show me the prosecutions of those who knew. Show me the accountablity of administrators and psychiatrists and psychologists. Show me the people who openly adovocate pedophilia are are repressed or investigated. Show me all the Catholics who believe child molestation is acceptable like the many in here would like us to believe.

According to the link your provided...
17% of world population is Catholic.
24% of these are reported as practicing Catholics.
.17 x .24 = about 4.1% of humanity is a practicing Catholic.
Therefore, either this RCC "one-true" claim is 100% baloney, or ...
Jesus died a horrific death in order to "save" 4.1% of humanity.
Ummmm? Let history and reality guide us to the truth.
#419808 Feb 3, 2013
History tells us your Church may be part of that "evil around us."
Have you ever considered that?
Consider how the RCC fought against the ideals we know as the Bill of Rights.
Was that an example of good... or evil?
#419809 Feb 3, 2013
Not THAT Catholic. They voted for Obama.
OK, typical Catholic freeloaders who only knew RCC totalitarian ideals.
But they'll come around once they become better educated.

Catholic's Women-Hating Pervert Tradition.......
The great Catholic theologian Thomas Aquinas taught that women were defective men, imperfect in both body and soul. They were conceived either because of defective sperm or because a damp wind was blowing at the time of conception
Following Aquinas, Canon law decreed that women could not witness a will. Neither could they testify in disputes over wills, nor in criminal proceedings. Generally they suffered the same sort of legal disabilities as children and imbeciles.
They could not practice medicine, law or any other profession, nor could they hold any public office.
Here is a piece of reasoning from two famous Catholic scholars: After saying that women are intellectually like children they explain why women are given to the practice of witchcraft:
"But the natural reason is that she is more carnal than a man, as is clear from her many carnal abominations. And it should be noted that there was a defect in the formation of the first woman, since she was formed from a bent rib, that is, rib of the breast, which is bent as it were in a contrary direction to a man. And since through this defect she is an imperfect animal, she always deceives."
No wonder all studies show that the RCC priesthood is a magnet for perverts in denial.

A plague of Atheists has Descended, and Catholics are the Target

Attacking Christians is Not Really Clever, Witty or Funny.
FROM time immemorial, this world has been troubled by plagues. From bogong moths in Canberra to frogs in biblical Egypt, unwelcome and unlovely creatures have the awkward habit of turning up in bulk.
Just now, we are facing one of our largest and least appealing infestations. Somewhat in advance of summer's blowflies, we are beset by atheists. Worse, they are not traditional atheists. These tended to be quiet blokes called Algie with ancillary interests in nudist ceramics, who were perfectly happy as long as you pretended to accept a pamphlet in Flinders Lane.
No, the new hobby atheist is as brash, noisy and confident as a cheap electric kettle. They want everyone to know that they have not found God, and that no one else should. Their particular target seems to be Catholics. On the surface, this is odd, as there are plenty of other religious targets just waiting to be saved from a vengeful, non-existent deity. Smaller herds, such as the Christadelphians or the Salvation Army, might seem more manageable. But the Catholic Church has two incomparable advantages as an object of the wrath of proselytising atheists. First, it is the biggie. Taking out the Catholics is the equivalent of nuking the Pentagon. Guerilla bands of Baptists and Pentecostals can be liquidated at leisure.
Second, the Catholics have the undeniable advantage that they do still demonstrably believe in something. Attacking some of the more swinging Christian denominations might mean upsetting people who believe a good deal less than the average atheist.

Mexico is a nation with a very strong Catholic identity, yet for over 70 years during the 20th century the Catholic Church was actually outlawed: not allowed to own property, run schools, convents or monasteries, have more than a certain number of priests (and no foreign priests), nor defend itself publicly or in the courts. It was hardly allowed to exist. According to historian Jim Tuck,This was not separation of church and state: it was complete subordination of church to state.
Following 1940, enforcement of these restrictions gradually lessened, but it was not until 1992 that the Church was restored as a legal entity in Mexico. During the period of the strictest enforcement of these draconian laws beginning with the rule of President Calles in the late 1920s, Mexicans were often imprisoned for wearing religious items, saying Adios in public (which literally means with God), or even questioning the laws. Public worship was a crime punishable by hanging or firing squad.(In fact, this week May 21 was the feast day of 25 Mexican saints and martyrs who remained true to their faith during these turbulent years and were canonized by Pope John Paul II in 2000. Another 13 martyrs were canonized by Pope Benedict XVI in 2005, including young José Luis Sánchez del Río. Perhaps the most well-known modern Mexican martyr, however, is Blessed Fr. Miguel Pro, beatified by Pope John Paul II in 1988.)

Another interesting statistic:
99% of the people on this forum think you're an idiot.
And Catholicism will never be wholly accepted just as the majority of the world denied the Son of God and killed Him 2,000 yrs ago. The " free mind, RCC Superiority So busted, light of catholicism Michaels" of the world denied the Christ back then, they deny him now.
