Why. won't. you. get. that.?
-
I DID, Clay. That's. why. I. left. the. Church.
Catholics "never" deny the sins of "past Catholics" -- but they certainly do a fine job of denying the sins of PRESENT Catholics, don't they? going so far as to protecting pedophile priests by housing them in Vatican City.
-
Then again, Catholics 'never' really deny their own sins, either. Do they? No. They don't really have to - because they get this nifty little "get out of hell free" card every time they go to confession.
-
How convenient.
-
They never deny the sins of "past Catholics" ...and worse yet, they never acknowledge the sins of "present Catholics."
So what you're really saying is you left catholicism because members of the Church sinned?? Thus..breaking the basic rules of Catholicism????
Wow.
I guess, whatever 'church' you discovered who is without sin, I'd love to join.(maybe)

The Catholic Church is made up of sinners. Always has.. And always will.

Tongues ARE for the unbeliever, but they are also an evidence of the presence of the Holy Spirit to the believer. Peter and other Christians were convinced that God had truly come to the Gentiles when they heard them speak by the Holy Spirit. It greatly increases the faith of the believer when they experience a manifestation of the Holy Spirit.

'but they are also an evidence of the presence of the Holy Spirit to the believer.'

That's the way i see it too Kay Marie, it makes sense and agrees with Scripture.

You're welcome! I figured as much. You're not going to let him bother you, are you? Don't waste your time. Put it in God's hands and move on.

Shhh, just between us, I had a feeling you prayed for me. If you didn't, don't tell me. Just let me live with my illusions. Yes, I'm okay, kind of. Thank you, dear Preston.

I live "down the shore", very close to the barrier islands. Thank God, I'm just inland enough not to have been affected by flooding from storm surges. But there was a lot of wind damage. The night of the hurricane, I looked out the front door and the sky was lit up with what looked like fireworks...it was transformers exploding. I actually fared pretty well, only minor damage to the house and property. It looks like a mini war zone around here, huge trees are down everywhere, some smashed right through people's homes. The beach communities are devastated. Houses floated right off their foundations. After the flood waters receded, a house was found sitting right in the middle of a major road.
They just started letting residents back on the islands, but only for a few hours at a time and in some places are busing them back and forth. There are lots who were evacuated and now have no place to go, they lost everything. A friend and her husband who live a few miles away have to gut their house. They lost their car, too. The northern counties got hit hard, too, and those in NY are also suffering, especially the Rockaways and Staten Island. Please keep them in your prayers.
Oh that sounds awful Regina.
I am really glad you wasn't in the worse part.
I bet you were terrified and did a lot of praying.

I know I would have been.

My thoughts and prayers are with all that had to endure such a horrible storm.

I believe in the GIFT of speaking in tongues and yes it is still for today. Been a witness to woman singing who mid ways in her song the Holy Spirit caame upon her and you could just see the and felll the glory and glowing shine from her face.
I also know Satan has a conterfiet and there are those who would fake it as well. That is why God allows us to discern the spirits.

1> As far as Preston goes I don't think the SDA believe in tongues for today.

2> I do not believe in OSAS as I believe one can Grieve away the Holy Spirit in which we are sealed unto the day of redemtion.

3> I do believe one should be baptised by water as an act of their faith if at all able. However water baptism thatlead one to be saved is his word and by his blood that he shed for us those who believe are baptise in the Fire and Holy Spirit this is what counts.

4> For these denominations with requiremnets to be a member of their Church is man made. Christ said come as you are !!!

Just adding my stand on speaking in tingues and som eof my beliefs for now.

BILLY GRAHAM EVANGELISTIC ASSOCIATION STATEMENT OF FAITH

We at the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association believe:

1. the Bible to be the infallible Word of God, that it is His holy and inspired Word, and that it is of supreme and final authority

2. In one God, eternally existing in three
persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

3. Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary. He led a sinless life, took on Himself all our sins, died and rose again, and is seated at the right hand of the
Father as our mediator and advocate

4. That all men everywhere are lost and face the judgment of God, and need to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ through His shed blood on the cross

5. That Christ rose from the dead and is coming soon

6. In holy Christian living, and that we must have concern for the hurts and social needs
of our fellow men

7. We must dedicate ourselves anew to the service of our Lord and to His authority over our
lives

8. In using every effective means of communication available to us to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world.

What to you think about someone who claims to be a pastor wishing God to find a place for another pastor to be there ?

Now I will miss hours of sleep worrying about those other two questions about billy graham.

graham ought tokeep his nose out of politics and I will never forgive him for the ranting that he did against Israel.

May God find him a nice quite out of the way place in a hot community. where the sun never shines.

This man is the biggest liar I have ever encountered. He will not admit he has lied when presented with the evidence. He also has an accomplice who goes by the name "truth". "truth" would not know the truth if it lived in his living room. These men are cut from the same cloth.

That's your opinion. Many people disagree with you, including many sola scriptura protestant communities.

I'm glad you were impressed. I can't speak for Fr. Dye. I doubt that he agrees with you on baptism, but if he does, it's concerning for me and, I assume, his bishop.
Perhaps you should re-read his post. It sounds to me like we are in near total agreement. Or if you can't tell for sure, simply ask him.

Your quote, "2> I do not believe in OSAS as I believe one can Grieve away the Holy Spirit in which we are sealed unto the day of redemtion." End quote.

How can a born again believer and follower of Jesus Christ "grieve away" the Holy Spirit and be sealed by the Holy Spirit unto the day of redemption at the same time. It does not seem likely.

I know that happened to me after I lost my son.
I use to worry about little things,
as my Mamaw Partin alway's told me;
"Yer borrowin trouble"
After losing my son,the things that I once thougt was important
were not that important to me anymore.
Isn't that the truth! Losing a child is a lot worse though. Your heart probably aches for him every day. You'll see him again, Karen. You and Mamaw Partin are right, it puts things into perspective. God bless her, may she and your son rest in God's peace.
