So what?
You don't believe Christ when He LITERALLY pointed at the bread and said this IS MY BODY.
You don't believe Him when He says, "unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man, you have no life in you"
You don't believe Him when He says, "Peter you are the rock upon which I will build my CHURCH.."
I don't understand you people. Some verses you accept as literally. Some you don't, even thou Our Lord was obviously speaking plainly about the Eucharist.
As for Jonah and the whale? It seems Christ was carrying on with the STORY of Jonah in the whale.
And none of you believe Jesus when he says other things.

Here you go round and round - where you stop only you will know.

Your argument, like marge's - is hypocritical.

You declared yourself a Deacon and live in the world of private interpretation of the Roman Catholic Bible. Yay. Good for you. You win. Your hands are washed. The bible is your god and if everything is not spelled out for you in present day understanding, you dismiss it.
BTW, good luck with that path old G. I think you may need it someday.
YOUR QUOTE, "You declared yourself a Deacon and live in the world of private interpretation of the Roman Catholic Bible." END QUOTE.

1. I am a Deacon. I did not declare I am a Deacon.
2. Roman Catholic Bible? No. The small "c" catholic (universal) Bible....Yes.

I just think this type of Apocolyptic crap is so sad. I don't mean to poke fun at ya"ll. But please understand that that nothing in this day and age would be more alarming than 100 yrs ago at the start of WWI. Or

Sorry to poke fun at y'all, but your ilk has been saying this for 2000 years, very similar to the Camping Crew.

You are right though - there will be now immediate change on 12-21-12, it has already started, as we can see the decline has already begun.

The Bible tells us what we must do to be saved:
Acts 16:30-31, "And he brought them out and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" 31 So they said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household."
The Bible is crystal clear when it describes what we must do to be saved. Knowing exactly what is required to be saved, wouldn't the Bible provide the same clarity by describing how the saved can be unsaved?
Where does the Bible tell us what we must do to be UNsaved?
Suggestion - skip the Bible and stick with what Jesus says:

"to know yourself is to know the kingdom of God."

Up for the challenge?

Double checking your sincerity towards the "commandments"?

Why?

Maybe you can get Robert F to characterise your beliefs and help you determine how many "commandments" you have broken.

He's good at doing this. Try him.

Lord, give us a sign.... and God does, again and again.
"Although Voice of the Faithful® is disappointed at the relative inaction on this issue by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops at previous national meetings, we call for them to act immediately at their present Fall General Assembly by doing the following, which would put teeth into fraternal correction and make the USCCB position on child protection absolutely clear:

•When USCCB learns a bishop has engaged in activity that would be prohibited by the Charter, or
•When USCCB learns a bishop has disregarded the principles of the Charter and has failed to take the actions required by the Charter, or
•When USCCB learns a bishop has made public statements indicating his disagreement with the Charter’s principles or his unwillingness to take the action the Charter requires,
•Then, after notifying the bishop and after the bishop fails to take corrective action within 60 days,
•The bishop shall be excluded from USCCB activities and the USCCB’s action shall be reported to the Papal Nuncio and be the subject of a USCCB press release."

Yeah - just exclude him. Skip calling the police.

No one will ever know.

<quoted text>But you didn't answer the question. Why do you believe so many supported him in spite of his abismal record. Has the country changed that much. Have that many more people forsaken traditional values. Is the thinking just that it is some how 'cool' or hep to vote for a black president. Or do people generally feel somehow better about themselves if they support and prejudiced if they do not support him. Do a majority of americans 'really' support 'gay marriage'? What do you think?
The Republicans missed the boat again, they did not spend the last 4 years probing into the MINDSET of the Hispanic people, who are not just Mexicans coming across the border, but a people that have a strong Catholic tradition, and are industrious and so on.

The Republicans have to not say everything they feel, because in the long run they are going to alienate the very people who will tear them down.I realize that the gays are wanting same-sex unions, but Republicans should rather enhance the fact that gays already have CIVIL unions, and they support their right to them. But than again 4-gvn,dealing with the whole gay issue is so detrimental to the health of this country in the long run.

Women specifically single ones, are on a (give-me) contraceptives, and Republicans just need to tell them they already can afford them, why are you asking the government for help to secure them.We just need to tell the public that we do not promote the attack on religious freedom not to sell contraceptives.Again those women are as bad as the gays in their obsession to defy society norms and get their way.

Evangelicals failed the Republicans as stated so many did not even vote, but were registered to.Well the churches made it a point this election to keep quiet about politics, and they have that right. But Evangelicals need to stop expecting some glorious man of God to get on the political platform and lead us all to a utopian Christian country. It is not going to happen, more than half the people in this country do not even go to church, what does that tell you?

If a man is a n American,he has respect for all facets of society,is pro-life,and wants to get this country back on its feet, and he is even an atheist, and running against the likes of Obama,he should have been considered. The fact that Romney was a Mormon, should have not been a factor,he made his platform clear and concise, evangelicals who did not vote for him on that premise alone were biased and showing an ignorance which now has us in a worse situation than ever.We have yet to see even in the coming months, not years what Obama and his Czars are going to do to this country.

Already we see regulations on the rise, and lands being prohibited by this administration for obtaining fuels for consumption, and alleviating our dependence on Arab and Venezuelan oil. Oh Yeah,Obama is goint ot watch China, and he will be on the front seat watching them demand payments on their loans,we cannot return with interest.

Scandals are coming fast and furious, even the networks(CNN) are getting on the band wagon of exposing the Generals on the Internet. As long as Obama is not in the limelight now,he is happy to see Patreaus face the public humiliation. But than again Patreaus must be subpeoned, not one excuse to keep him from the inquiry.

God only knows how deceitful the polling centers were,7th day wants to see that youtube again to the flawed voting machines subtracting and adding the opposite of what was voted for.We all want to know! But probably never will.

Hal Lindsey who wrote "Late great planet earth" years ago, recently on Daystar spoke about his concerns for America with the re-election of Obama. He minces no words as to the fact that he predicted decades ago that America will cease to be the nation of hope,so that the European Union will rise to confront all institutions of MEN,and launch the power to support the anti-Christ!

Once again, I'm assured that if the Catholic Church isn't the true Church, then definitely whatever you believe is NOT. Lies are from Satan. So I'm not sure why you'd make it your M.O to spread lies.
A true Christian would ask another group what they actually believe before they preach about em.
You are the laughing stock of this forum brother. A very odd Ideologue who somehow thinks he is a Deacon. Goodness gracious.
I just ordained myself a Deacon too. Now Im an authority on Christianity so I rebut you!! Lol.

Jesus does tell us that the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven and john tells us that there is a sin onto death, but he doesn't elaborate.

They ABORTED the Word of God from their worship so they could set the Pope up as authority.... starting with, "Call no man your Father."
-
They took those words from Jesus' mouth and stomped all over them and so defied his words. They DEFIED JESUS' words so they could do as they pleased and feel 'sane' about it, as they accuse Christians of "worshiping the Bible."
-
They have forced themselves to think like this because if they actually read the Word of God and did as it says, they would be in spiritual meltdown - and they can't handle that, because they would find the truth and they can't handle the truth.

I guess they don't WANT the truth.

Jesus said that for a reason! And I think the reason was .. for anyone who can see it, to STAY AWAY FROM any church that insists on their leaders being called "FATHER".

Yes, Jesus said it for a reason and that is to have an 'easy' marker of what is NOT the true church. IOW ....*IF* YOUR CHURCH IS DOING THIS, they cannot be the true church. Period.

No need to go back anywhere. I agree Jesus loved us first. I agree it's a gift. Jesus said if we love Him we will obey Him. But you haven't answered my question; why do you think you're better at determining Jesus's commands than someone else?
