more to it than that, people can see me,hear me,talk to me,i can also do the same with them.they can learn the truth about me by asking questions, you can't when it comes to religion, you can only go by hearsay, which is unreliable, that is why it is inadmisable in a court of law.if you tried to prove god existed by going to the highest court in the nation, your case wouldn't even be considered to be heard, because you have nothing factual to prove your point,it's all hearsay.

robert f says that you don't have faith, you have belief.

Many christians tell me that I cannot understand the bible, because I do not have the holy spirit in me, to guide me. So, I have to ask why; if the holy spirit is 'guiding' all of you believers, why do you all believing differently? Didn't the holy spirit make the bible and god's wants plain to all of you, equally?

Just another gaping whole in the fabric of believe.

I strongly encourage you to vote! Vote for the Green Party! The Socialist Party! Write in a vote! Let the Republicans and Democrats know that they are not the only two in the race.

Vote against all incumbents! Get them out before they start taking special interest groups' money.

Not voting = giving up and many in politics wish that you would do just that.

Hey! There is no work on Sundays! A man can be killed for working on the sabbath! It is one of the ten commandments they try to shove down our throats!

What? The sabbath comes at the end of the week, not the beginning? It was the pagans who had the christians changed it to Sunday? Did they get god's approval? Is the an amendment to to the ten commandments?

Why do christians push the ten commandments, if they don't follow them, either?

The uber-religious personalize their religion.

Memo to hojo -- if someone disagrees with the religious dogma that you happen to embrace -- it is not an attack on you.

THE GOOD NEWS.... We ALL agree a majority of the time about religion.

We all agree that roughly 95% or more of the world's religious dogma is absurd.

Therefore, you should not take it personally just because most of humanity believes your particular 5% of religious dogma is absurd.

Christian Communism....

"Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand persons were added that day. They devoted themselves to the teaching of the apostles and to the communal life, to the breaking of the bread and to the prayers. Awe came upon everyone, and many wonders and signs were done through the apostles. All who believed were together and had all things in common; they would sell their property and possessions and divide them among all according to each one's need." (Acts 2:41-45 NAB)

Conquest, Murder, and Plunder....

"So Joshua and his warriors traveled to the water near Merom and attacked suddenly. And the LORD gave them victory over their enemies. The Israelites chased them as far as Great Sidon and Misrephoth-maim, and eastward into the valley of Mizpah, until not one enemy warrior was left alive. Then Joshua crippled the horses and burned all the chariots, as the LORD had instructed. Joshua then turned back and captured Hazor and killed its king.(Hazor had at one time been the capital of the federation of all these kingdoms.) The Israelites completely destroyed every living thing in the city. Not a single person was spared. And then Joshua burned the city. Joshua slaughtered all the other kings and their people, completely destroying them, just as Moses, the servant of the LORD, had commanded. However, Joshua did not burn any of the cities built on mounds except Hazor. And the Israelites took all the captured goods and cattle of the ravaged cities for themselves, but they killed all the people. As the LORD had commanded his servant Moses, so Moses commanded Joshua. And Joshua did as he was told, carefully obeying all of the LORD's instructions to Moses."

God Assists in Rape and Plunder....

"Lo, a day shall come for the Lord when the spoils shall be divided in your midst. And I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem for battle: the city shall be taken, houses plundered, women ravished; half of the city shall go into exile, but the rest of the people shall not be removed from the city." (Zechariah 14:1-2 NAB)

Plundering and ravishing women -- daddy was certainly no wuss, that's for sure.

7th, I don't understand why a guy like you, who seems genuinely interested in truth, buys into Protestantism or some other form of it?
Anyone who searches for the honest to God truth in Christianity, can only arrive at the Catholic Church. Period. You simply have to submit to complete ignorance to accept Bible only Protestantism. Its false from the get go... Believe me you 7th, I would have no problem telling the Pope to get lost if I could find some reason to believe the Church is not who they say they are. I love Jesus Christ with all my heart and soul, and ONLY want truth... You guys simply can't provide it.. To be honest, the blatant lies by your side kinda scares me..
**********
I am glad to read that you love Jesus...and only want Truth. Jesus said, "I AM the Truth..." But your opinion about Protestants scares me. Jesus prayed that God would forgive THOSE WHO CRUCIFIED HIM, because, He said, "They don't know what they do." He did not rail on them from the cross, calling them names. Neither did He call for angels to release Him, and destroy those people. He prayed for them.
I've been visiting this site for some months now, and feel great distress over the many...who profess themselves to be Christian...but have many accusations against those who do not see things exactly as they see them. There are bitter things said that are not 'Christian' in any way. Jesus came to SAVE, not curse the lost. He said, "I DID NOT come to condemn the world, but that the world through Me might be saved."
I don't see you...or anyone...as a liar just because you don't agree with me. It's really very simple: none of us know everything, and we need THE WHOLE TRUTH, and NOTHING BUT THE TRUTH.
The truth in this issue is that the RCC professes to have given us the Bible...but they condemn us for trusting it. Did they give us a faulty book?
Well, I can answer that. I have seen lives changed instantly when people have come to trust that Jesus bought our pardon on Calvary. I have seen bitter, mean people changed in their hearts as they continued to BELIEVE IN HIM. I have seen sick bodies healed. I've seen fire quenched; been in a car that hit a concrete wall at 65 miles per hour...and lived through it. The car had a bit of paint scraped off the bumper.
That Bible tells me how to live by faith...and I could just keep telling you about the comfort, healing, financial help and so much more that I have WITNESSED as a result of reading and believing that blessed Book.
I've had some wonderful pastors, but no man has ever made me want to be a better person...or accomplished that work in me. The best they could do was to exhort and pray for me. Jesus has been with me through painful, dark times, and lifted me up out of them. Pastors can encourage...but none of them can forgive me when I fail. None of them can heal me when I am sick. None of them can help me when I am broke. But HE CAN AND DOES.
Should I trade that Book for mortal man who can not help me?

Again, this is the honesty I speak of - none that which you are honest with:
a. men wrote the Bible
b. No one knows "God"
c. You don't believe in all of what Jesus taught
d. You will believe "Paul" is more enlightened than Jesus, because there are more books from him than there Jesus.
e. You will accept less than half of the original 13 Apostles.
f. You will disagree that the Bible is in error.
Shall I go on?
NASL

Well, I must repeat myself again...

a. Inspired men wrote the books and epistles of the Bible.
b. Thomas knew God by actually touching him after he had arisen.
c. I don't believe in the Gnostic sayings of Jesus, because they are filtered through Gnosticism.
d. I never said that. It is more likely Paul's writings were better preserved as a result of him being in the Roman Empire.
e. A Gnostically interpretted "writing" of an Apostle is still Gnostic. One can add as many books as they want to the "standard" Bible, but that does not make them inspired.
f. The Bible can have man-made errors, such as typos, words spelled wrong, outdated meanings of concepts, difficult passages to express from one language to another....This does not mean the Bible is in error.

Do go on....I am thoroughly enjoying the review. The more we go over it, the clearer it becomes to me....

So a question..., Isn't evangelizing Gnosticism at best an oxymoron or double-speak....

Psalm 139

King James Version (KJV)

139 O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me.

2 Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.

3 Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.

4 For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether.

5 Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.

6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.

7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?

8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;

10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.

12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.

14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!

18 If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.

19 Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men.

20 For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain.

21 Do not I hate them, O Lord, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?

22 I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.

23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:

24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
