All SNL does is parody news, they're not even real news. It's just for jokes and ratings.
That's similar to The Daily Show, it's not a real news program.
Fox News is the number one rated news program out there and has been for over a decade now. They do much more than news skits like SNL or TDS.
If you watched Fox at all, you wouldn't be comparing them to SNL.
I didn't compare then to SNL

I didn't even bring up SNL until you did and lumped it in with the Daily Show and that was only to explain to you the difference between the two as they are not even close to the same

What does their ratings have to do with anything?

Have you watched The Daily Show? I don't see how you have and would still be continuing with this. They use real news clips. They interview real politicians. They have guest speakers. It is simply in a comedic format.

I am not sure why you would think I wouldn't know that
Although you would have to give me an example of what you constitute as "lies". Are you talking about factual lies or a perspective you disagree with?
It was state run media just a puppet broadcasting lies out of Moscow over radio. I'm speaking of outright lies where nbc has had to go back, usually a day or two latter and correct it on air. The thing that sticks with me right now is a case that nbc dateline hyped over a possible fire hazard on g.m. trucks. They were caught and admitted to rigging a test to ensure that a fire would occur. This is many years back btw and since that time to me nbc has been good for nothing. The partisan stuff I agree they do like for example how nbc and the weather channel push climate change. If I had more time I'd look up more but have to get ready for the wife to come home. <quoted text>Right back at you. I'm honest. I would think that in the span of 10 years time I would have seen some of these thing in one of the biggest metro areas in this nation. I haven't. What I have been witness to, especially in the last few years are people that make it quite clear they have zero tolerance for Christians and the values we hold to show the world what bigots they are. Now again I want more people not less to have a say. The biggest thing that bothered me of recent was when two elected people, on in Chicago, one in Boston did try to use power of government to silence a private citizen and the co. he represents (Chick-fil-a) This bothers me because if enough people seem to think this is ok its a huge shift of what this nation has fought and given much blood and treasure for. Think I read you are in another nation and if so much of this may mean little to you.
Your nation affects the whole world so it means a lot to me actually.

I find it hard to believe any faith based thinker is honest, no offence intended but you're not even honest with yourself.

As far as zero tolerance for christians goes, you've brought it on yourselves. You've also led by example.

<quoted text>I hope most people aren't like those on Topix
I know you are talking how others present Christians and I agree but it got me thinking about a quote I saw not too long ago basically questioning if anonymity causes people to act in ways contrary to their own beliefs and morals and get caught up in a persona or is it simply we haven't evolved as people at all but because of repercussions people don't act in public like they would with anonymity.
I got a scary hunch it is both
Annie and talked a little about this the other day but t is natural for humans to group. When done so on a smaller scale like a family, you rarely see competition with others families or hate or the need to feel superior. If anything we go easier on their flaws because we know first-hand the problems that can occur in the family unit. I think insecurity and hate play a role in why people need to attack other groups. Which is what I wrote. But in thinking about it again, it is one of the few settings where we can not only bond over the commonalities but will even see some when they aren't. And that is because we can relate. It would probably do a lot of people a lot of good to spend some one on one time with some groups of people they think they hate. There are good and bad people everywhere. It defies logic to suddenly try to paint one group as all anything. But it never stops people from trying. I personally think it is also just a lazier approach. And that in itself will attract a lot of people
Agreed.

People in packs is much like alcohol in that it lowers a person's inhibitions and gives them a courage they normally wouldn't have. Now a lower inhibition isn't necessarily a good thing, a lot of times people do what they normally wouldn't do.

I hate to quote movies for real life, but sometimes they stand out and are true as day.

A survey by Makerere University’s School of Public Health on HIV infection in men who have sex with men (MSM) in Kampala in 2008-2009 found infection rates among this group were almost twice as high as the national average. Whereas the national infection rate on average is 7.5, according to the Uganda AIDS Commission, the Makere University survey puts the rate at around 13 percent for MSM.

Beyonce Karungi Tushabe, the executive director of Transgender Equality Uganda, an NGO working for the rights of transgender people, says it is difficult for transgender people to live with HIV in an environment where they have to keep their identities hidden...
According to Flavia Kyomukama, a member of the Global Coalition of Women against AIDS, Uganda’s new strategic plan on HIV/AIDS control mentions MSM among high risk groups whose HIV prevalence is above the national average.

"Transgender," at its most basic level, is a word that applies to someone who doesn't fit within society's standards of how a woman or a man is supposed to look or act.
For example, "transgender" may be used to describe someone who was assigned female at birth but later realizes that label doesn't accurately reflect who they feel they are inside. This person may now live life as a man, or may feel that their gender identity can't be truly summed up by either of the two options we're usually given (male or female). They might feel like they're in between those two options; both male and female; or outside the two-gender system, entirely, neither male nor female.
“Transgender” can also be used as an umbrella term, meaning it groups together a variety of people with different identities. The common link is that people under the “transgender umbrella” don’t really fit within their society's standards of how women and men are supposed to look and act (in other words, they're "gend

Did you know Fox News won a lawsuit against am employee they fired because they refused to give a report that they knew was untrue? The court actually ruled a news station is allowed to lie if it is done in an editorial format. It's crazy. And while it happened to be Fox News, all the major news networks hailed it as a victory for free speech. It is sad to see what is viewed as "news" today.

Sorry to hear about your father-in-law. Will keep you guys in prayer

Agree

Although I think its important to note the reason they wouldn't normally do it isn't necessarily because they are better than that. People simply enjoy the protection that comes in numbers and it gives them what could also be described as "liquid courage" in keeping with the analogy. People often are the most honest when drunk. They just would have kept those opinions hidden while sober

That suggestion is beyond ludicrous

Paglia characterizes herself as a Clinton Democrat and libertarian.[7][56] She opposes laws against prostitution, pornography, drugs, and abortion.[63] Paglia criticized Bill Clinton for not resigning after the Monica Lewinsky scandal, which she says "paralyzed the government for two years, leading directly to our blindsiding by 9/11."[64]
She was probably just as disgusted at the whole three ring circus as was a lot of others. Probably hyperbolic in her response.
