Atheism requires as much faith as religion? bearvspuma : The only problem with this rationalization is that ita s assuming all athiests are so because theya re intelligent in the ways of science and reasoning and all people that believe in a form of god are unintelligent.

Again, you don't even understand what you posted. They use the distributed computing to figure out how the magnetic guiding the particles should be adjusted to hit the targets in the way we want. This is a massive computational problem. Finding the optimal settings can mean reduced cost because fewer magnets are required for the same target.
Smash and see if it splatters they way you think it will. If not, smash again. They do that with a lot of physics things. HAARP for one. Push the envelope.
Mathematics has been part of physics since before Newton. All that we are now doing is using computers to help us with the calculations, so we can do much more complicated calculations. We *still* need to test the predictions against the real world. That is how we figure out which model is more correct.

The point is that we have several different competing models for particle physics and each one needs to make predictions of *exactly* what would be seen if that model is correct. This isn't a simple 2+2=4 type of calculation so a lot of computing power is required.

T
he paragraph after that quoted deals with the concerns about doomsday. They assured it wouldn't happen. If they had that much knowledge about reactions, why did the need such am expensive machine?
Just say no to mad scientists.
Once again, the theoretical models have to be tested. The Higg's boson, for example, was a purely theoretical construction inside one particular model. The model was unable to predict its mass, but was able to predict how it interacted with other particles once the mass is known. So we do the computations of all the interactions with different masses. Then we actually run the machine to see what happens: do we see anything at all? If so, what is its mass? Are the predictions we did based on that mass accurate in the real world? Which models were eliminated and which still survive?

Until you get the idea that theoretical mathematical models are a good thing because they allow precise predictions that can then be tested, you will never understand how science is and should be done.

Show you?
You're asking a person on the internet to show you?
Are you praying to said person on the internet?
Only God can show you that prayer works, you'll have to ask Him.
Evidence comes before belief. Using prayer as a proof of God requires that prayer work before a belief in God.

All of your examples are due to totalitarian states nothing to do with atheism. Unlike hitler who said he was going to punish the Christ killer Jews.
The reign of terror in the French Revolution had to do with dethroning a king and killing his cronies. The overwhelming majority of those people were devout Christians. Note there were certain priests marked for death but not all of them. Actually only a small handful.
Again nothing to do with atheism whatsoever.
And you know it.

Main articles: Red Terror, Decossackization, and Lenin's Hanging Order

During the Russian Civil War, both sides unleashed terror campaigns (the Red and White Terrors). The Red Terror culminated in the summary execution of tens of thousands of "enemies of the people" by the political police, the Cheka.[copyright violation?][volume & issue needed]

Many victims were 'bourgeois hostages' rounded up and held in readiness for summary execution in reprisal for any alleged counter-revolutionary provocation. Many were put to death during and after the suppression of revolts, such as the Kronstadt rebellion and the Tambov Rebellion. Professor Donald Rayfield claims that "the repression that followed the rebellions in Kronstadt and Tambov alone resulted in tens of thousands of executions." A large number of Orthodox clergymen were also killed.

The policy of decossackization amounted to an attempt by Soviet leaders to "eliminate, exterminate, and deport the population of a whole territory," according to Nicolas Werth. In the early months of 1919, some 10,000 to 12,000 Cossacks were executed][verification needed] and many more deported after their villages were razed to the ground.

LOL! I did not tell my teacher that it was 9, she told me. Back then, an elementary student did not talk back or contradict the teacher.
She taught us that we should question authority.
The next Sunday, when I was in Sunday school, I started asking all those questions that I had and was afraid to ask.
After a few questions, the teacher got a bit upset and told me not to question god. I was sent to the preacher who very quickly told me the same thing.
Is your god afraid of questions form a fifth grader?

Bob Jones: Big-mouthed Bigot from the Boondocks
The son of a Confederate soldier and Alabama sharecropper, the young and poorly educated Bob Jones (1883-1968) discovered a youthful talent for memorizing scripture.
With a natural flair for oratory, the "boy preacher" warmed the hearts and softened the brains of the yokels. At 15 Bob was already an itinerant Methodist and on his way to Jesus loot, an enterprise he continued for half a century, until upstaged by the new boy on the block and dangerous liberal, Billy Graham.
Proudly intolerant, Jones was a racist, anti-Catholic, anti-Darwinian, who supported the Klan. In 1927, with the tide of history moving against religious reactionaries, BJ put money into the Bob Jones College (later University), the purpose of which was to train missionaries and teach the "Christian alternative" to reality.

That's a completely false statement. A blanket statement like that with no examples to back it up suggests that you're more afraid of alternative points of views and examination of your primitive superstitions and faith.

Can you show me in the Atheist Bible where I should love my fellow man and not kill him just because I don't like him?

You don't understand either concept - evidence or possibility.

Events occur every day for which there previously existed no evidence. According to you, as you do not believe these events possible, you are proven wrong every day.

I only prove you wrong once every week or so. So I'm probably wasting my time then.

Here ya go!

Anyone arrogant enough to reject the verdict of the judge or of the priest who represents the LORD your God must be put to death. Such evil must be purged from Israel.(Deuteronomy 17:12 NLT)

You should not let a sorceress live.(Exodus 22:17 NAB)

A man or a woman who acts as a medium or fortuneteller shall be put to death by stoning; they have no one but themselves to blame for their death.(Leviticus 20:27 NAB)

Whoever strikes his father or mother shall be put to death.(Exodus 21:15 NAB)

Oh shit! I'm sorry! I took this morality from the christian bible!

Jesus walks into a hotel, throws 3 nails on the counter and asks the clerk... "Can you put me up for the night?"

Wilson's Nails

Wilson runs a nail factory and decides his business needs a bit of advertising. He has a chat with a friend who works in marketing and he offers to make a TV ad for Wilson's Nails.

"Give me a week," says the friend, "and I'll be back with a tape."

A week goes by and the marketing executive comes to see Wilson. He puts a cassette in the video and presses play. A Roman soldier is busy nailing Jesus to the cross. He turns to face the camera and says with a grin "Use Wilson's Nails, they'll hold anything."

Wilson goes mad shouting: "What is the matter with you? They'll never show that on TV. Give it another try, but no more Romans crucifying Jesus!"

Another week goes by and the marketing man comes back to see Wilson with another tape. He puts it in the machine and hits play. This time the camera pans out from a Roman standing with his arms folded to show Jesus on the cross. The Roman looks up at him and says 'Wilson's Nails, they'll hold anything'.

Wilson is beside himself. "You don't understand: I don't want anything with Jesus on the cross! Now listen, I'll give you one last chance. Come back in a week with an advertisement that I can broadcast."

A week passes and Wilson waits impatiently. The marketing executive arrives and puts on the new video. A naked man with long hair, gasping for breath, is running across a field. About a dozen Roman soldiers come over the hill, hot on his trail. One of them turns to camera and says 'If only we had used Wilson's Nails!'.
