OK then, all you habe is what you think. Correct.
I have reason. I reject extraordinary claims that are unsupported by evidence.

You, on the other hand, accept some extraordinary claims that are unsupported by evidence, while rejecting others.

I am consistent. You are not.

No, you don't, and you've already shown that. You take the Bible at face value, but don't do the same for other religious texts.

There is multitudes of evidence that Islam is a copycat of Christianity.
How is it a copycat? The primary thing that Christianity added to Judaism was Jesus as God and Savior. Islam does not accept that.

OH!.... "scholars"
You make a strong argument, how can I argue with that?
You can't, because you know you historians don't accept religious claims as historical fact.
RiversideRedneck wrote:
Same story? I think you meant if I was told a different story...?
No, the same story.

If we found a book written by anonymous members of David Koresh's cult, and it stated that David Koresh could magically heal the sick, walk on water, turn water into wine, and that he once died and resurrected, you would not believe it, would you?

Of course not. These claims are ridiculous. They're way out there. You would have to see some extremely good evidence before you accepted them as true.

Yes, I have my beliefs & you have yours.
No, you don't, and you've already shown that. You take the Bible at face value, but don't do the same for other religious texts.
Now you're assuming I take the Bible at face value?

Knock it off.
How is it a copycat? The primary thing that Christianity added to Judaism was Jesus as God and Savior. Islam does not accept that.
There are so many similarities its ridiculous. Feel free to google it if you're not afraid to learn.

The bible has Adam
The Quran has Adam

In the bible, Jesus was born to the Virginia Mary
In the Quran, Jesus was born to the Virginia Mary

The list goes on and on and on.

Islam was "created" 600 years after Christianity, you can't say it wasn't copied.

Yes, it would take a lot to consider Vern Howell's stories.

Not because they're so fantastic, but because done Jesus, many have claimed to be just like him....

You said so, Buddy.

"It's part of our recorded history, it's no claim."

The sole source for the claims about Jesus' miracles and divinity and resurrection is the Bible. You are accepting its claims at face value.

I already went over this. Islam is an expansion of Christianity like Christianity is an expansion of Judaism.

Why don't you call Christianity a copycat of Judaism? They both have Adam, and Noah, and Moses, and Abraham.

When I was a kid, I knew a guy who was 30 feet tall and shot lasers out of his eyes. Do you accept these claims?

[QUOTE] I'm not. There's no reason to actually believe he did any of those things. That's choosing superstition over reason. "

You don't get to choose whether or not you want to "believe" history.

[QUOTE] Your argument could be applied to every religious claim. How does Zeus cause lightning? Well, you just can't comprehend how he does it!
You're skipping over the fact that there's no good reason to believe Zeus throws lightning or Jesus resurrected to begin with. It's delusion. "

Where was it written that Zeus threw lightning?

Where's the Zeus bible?

(good luck finding it)

Zeus and his ilk have gone down in history as myth.

Jesus is a prominant role in the lives of many people worldwide.
Jesus and his ilk, after a few more failed Armageddon's and raptures, will be joining Zeus et. al.

A couple of more generations at most, though there will undoubtedly be some hangers on in underdeveloped countries.

[QUOTE] Homer and Hesiod both wrote about Zeus. "

Funny atheist. You believe that a man named Homer actually existed & you take that as history but you fight back against people like Matthew, Mark & John.....
You can put your foot in your mouth whenever you're ready.
Funny.

Islamists think their religious "history" is just as valid as you do yours.

Wrong. There are many historians that have researched Jesus. Read for yourself. Try not to be a typical atheist & cherry pick (I'll notice).

It is by your definition of copycat, which was that they have some of the same characters.

Daily Horoscope for May 23

Leo

You're in a very idealistic mood today, making it almost impossible for you to view loved ones in their true colors. If they've got any faults you won't see them because you'll have blanked them out. This rosy vision of your nearest and dearest is fine if it doesn't last long but it will cause problems if it persists and you continue to brush any problems under the carpet.
