See that's the thing. I don't care if they're mean jokes.

Because they aren't mean to the light hearted people, only to the closed minded shut ins.

I'll talk to you anytime, just don't leave me freezing at Marble Arch in the cold, dark, London night.

You are equivocating here.
Huh? Where? Do you expect me to guess?
mtimber wrote:
But let us follow your argument to its logical conclusion.
If morality is subjective, then there is no absolute "good" or "evil".
I don't know of any absolute "good" or "evil". It's possible to attain consensus among all minds who make moral distinctions, but I would not call that a moral absolute, because it is subject to consensus, which could be lost at any time.
mtimber wrote:
There is nothing absolutely "wrong", because two subjective opinions on morality, would both have equal authority.
Each person is only truly accountable to themselves, unless they volunteer accountability to other people, or systems (real or imaginary).

Moral authorities vary in type and influence. We have different types of moral authorities. Most of them are based on consensus, moderated by social mechanisms, and ruled by force. The authorities are far from equal.
mtimber wrote:
So with that in mind, nothing is wrong of itself.
Do you understand where your own reasoning leads you, have you ever considered and thought through what you are saying?
Yes. Have you read much about philosophy?
mtimber wrote:
If morality is a merely subjective construct of society, then nothing is absolutely wrong or absolutely right.
This is your argument.
It's a premise. Do you accept that premise?

I can try again to demonstrate how morality is subjective, but all I can do is rephrase it.

There is a much more interesting argument about comparing different moral systems, but if you think there is one moral system with absolute moral authority, arguing about it with you would be one sided.

So you don't think that we are all here due to an accident in the universe?
What does that have to do with fizzing superiority? You brought that up, as a strawman argument.
mtimber wrote:
And if we are just two chemical accidents fizzing away, how do you know your fizzing is superior to mine...
Is anyone here claiming a superior fizz? I'm not. Who are you arguing with here? A strawman?

Misrepresenting the other side is a logical fallacy, and a cheap trick.

Very simple.
God has to be absolute in all things by His very nature.
I do not accept the premise that "God" exists. You need to demonstrate that your god exists before you can speak of his nature, and what that might mean to the rest of reality.

If your argument hinges on faith, it is equal to all arguments that hinge on faith.
mtimber wrote:
That being the case, all transcendant knowledge proceeds from God and is accountable because of Gods absolute nature.
You haven't demonstrated that your premise is true.
mtimber wrote:
The gods you refer to are not able to meet that measure.
Why? As of right now, the only thing you can demonstrate are that claims exist about your god. Claims exist about many gods. Those claims are similar enough to be analogous to the claims of your god.
mtimber wrote:
This is why your analogy is a false analogy...
It does not matter how much you deny it, it doesn't change the fact you have not been able to reason around this simple problem.
Elaborate on what you think this simple problem is.

The analogy is about the absurdity of the claim, not the god, which is why the Flying Spaghetti Monster was used instead of a traditional god claim with mythical similarities. Do you accept that as the reason for the analogy, or would you like to attempt defeating a strawman?

So if society dictates human morality, there are times when it is acceptable for adults to have sex with children?
That is essentially your argument taken to its logical conclusion.
There are societies that exist, and have existed in the past, where it was acceptable for adults to have sex with children.

Would you like to make a point about that?

You say your jokes are for the light-hearted, meant just for fun.

But they are nevertheless rude, which makes you rude.

I didn't say "that bigot RR."

Although you do give the impression of being something of a bigot.

Typical religious nonsense. Inorganic objects cannot reproduce on their own, therefore they cannot evolve, and nothing "turns into" anything. That's your canard, not our understanding of evolution.

See, that's what I mean. For someone to say that a joke is "rude", that tells me that person is a wimp.

A joke is a joke is a joke. People need to understand the difference between somebody telling a joke and somebody just being out right rude and/or racist.

My grandpa was a bigot, I'm not.

Okay, now I get it. lol

My area, Walmart is frequented by pretty much everyone, even Bill Gates shops there. Cultural differences can easily ruin a good joke. lol
