Actually, we know what the meaning of "666" or "616."
http://www.youtube.com/watch...
This video explains it pretty simply. It's honestly one of the cooler aspects of the Bible, in my opinion. It's kind of like a code or a riddle, but it doesn't hold any particular meaning to us today because it wasn't meant for us.
I don't have time to watch it, but I have heard a lot on 666 and different interpretations; some can show it in the barcodes on products although I am always a bit lost with that one :)

Let me summarize it for you: Hebrews, Romans, etc., use their letters as numbers, too. The letters that spell out "Neron," or Nero, who was the ruler when Paul wrote his letters (and was also incredibly cruel to cultists/early Christians) add up to 666 if spelling Neron (what the Hebrews called Nero) or 616 for Nero. They used it as a sort of code, if you will.

I am not on all that much either, so I understand that. It is just a tread that I noticed. When you hit a believer with some tough questions, ones that they cannot simply deny, such as the fossil record, or carbon dating, they say, "I am too busy right now to answer, but I really want to!" It turns out that they are just BSing me, stalling until the subject is forgotten.
No BS, it's not true, I have been extremely busy, saving souls... lol I shall post tonight. It is New Year's Eve in 10 minutes. It's safer to stay home with all the 'Party People' on the road... than it is to go out... Happy New Year 2013. I wish you and yours only the best!:)

What will you do during a disaster? Most people that I have seen have handled things quite well, but what happens when someone decides that they need your food more than you?

You are, from what I can tell from your posts, a very intelligent person; how many governments disarmed their people to better control them? How many of those were what we would call, good governments?
I can only think of three, rather small, island nations. Granted, Australia is about the same size as the contiguous states, but few live too far from the coast. And Australia has about 10% of the U.S.'s population.

1) The snake handlers brag that they handle deadly snakes for god.
Answer- My snake died... The Vet couldn't save it...

2) Every sect claims that the holy spirit came to them.
<quoted text>
Answer- I'm not every sect, I'm the daughter of 'God Almighty', who was filled with the Holy Spirit after a Baptism in Anaheim, CA. I was 21. To choose not to believe me, is okay, it's a hard thing to comprehend. Again, it was no delusion. I wasn't the only one...

3) You cannot change the definition of a word to suit your beliefs:
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/rel ...
<quoted text>
Answer- If you say so...

4)I don't believe that there is even one case of proven faith healing and many cases where a person died trying, mostly defenseless children.
<quoted text>
Answer- There's been several. I will find them for you..I was a child, healed of a lump that required immediate surgery, my grandmother laid her hands on it,(in the name of Jesus) and it went away within 24 hours.. Doctors were baffled...

5)Indoctrination, you loved and revered your grandmother, so you believed what she taught you.
Answer- That might be one way to look at it... I have questioned her for many things concerning God... I Even told her that I did not believe in God, saying, it can't be true, it's not logical. But God went after me, just like I am doing to you...
<quoted text>

6)Didn't jesus turn water into wine? Choosing not to drink has nothing to do with religion.
<quoted text>
Answer- Yes he did, and choosing not to drink is personal, on the other hand, if I cause an alcoholic to stumble, or if I were to get drunk, and act foolish,...that person might think that's how Christians can act...Some of my Christian friends drink, I don't... I also don't judge, because I, don't want to be judged.

7)And because there are a lot of nasty things in there that you are required to do!
<quoted text>
Answer- Now you lost me on this one. Can you elaborate on what bad things in the Bible, I'm supposed to do?

8)Sounds a wee bit on the arrogant side, but... Well, just maybe I can get you to read your bible more, read up and some history and science.
Answer- Not arrogant, just confident. Okay, What would you have me read? I also like am a fan of 'Science& History'

TBS, Please don't get so caught up in mans interpretation of what God wrote in the Bible. It would confuse anyone. God wants your heart, not your head. What ever you choose to believe, makes no difference in the way I feel about you, or anyone else. I would still call you friend...

ps. I do agree with you about our gun rights...:)

I can only think of three, rather small, island nations. Granted, Australia is about the same size as the contiguous states, but few live too far from the coast. And Australia has about 10% of the U.S.'s population.
If I may I would like to make some observations and I am well aware that I am an outsider to your country. Let me start with that the US and OZ are very similar but the there some subtle differences. As a friend of mine once said on his first trip out here said “everything is the same but different”. For example the cars are similar but we drive on the other side of the road.

SOCIALISM:
Socialism is a means of economic production as is capitalism. Neither extreme works and all countries are some where between the two. We have universal health care and unemployment benefits, is it perfect, NO, but nobody gets turned away from hospital and everybody gets treatment. The same goes for unemployment benefits.

To me it is important to try and look after those in need and not make them feel like rejects.

It seems to us outsiders to the US that Communism has become synonymous with Socialism which is not true. Communism is a political system as is Fascism.

CORRUPTION:
Why would a democratically elected government become excessively corrupt? Well from the outside we see people like J.E. Hoover (one SOB) who seems to have blackmailed politicians because of sexual conduct. Out here we could give a rat's about who our pollies f..k as long it is between consenting adults, as long it is not us.(which they do anyway). That's why we all have elections.

But it seems us that the US is almost paranoid about it.

DISASTERS:
Having no experience in the US I can't say. But having gone through a cyclone, floods and bushfires I have no fear of been shot for food.

A couple of years ago my youngest girl had her house burnt down due to arson. The community response for her and four children was staggering.

MEDIA:
One really big difference I see is in the media. We receive a huge amount of TV from the US but also from other countries and here lies the difference. An enormous amount of US programming is extremely violent, but have a real hang up sex and nudity. The reverse tends to be true from other countries. I am in noway saying that TV violence causes real world violence, but rather its acceptance as the norm is a symptom. I mean lets face it how many people do you know have murdered and how many do you know bonk?

bitly it, because my searches won't pull up anything you are attempting to show, I only frequent scientific papers on such matters and a result like yours will likely wind up below hundreds demonstrating that the resource itself is incorrect. So, in order to address it without bias I need to see it without such information prior.

* Here's what your not saying...
Rick... I have relatives in Scandinavia and they all agree Socialism doesn't work. Since everyone gets about the same wage, the only reason to be a Doctor, instead of a sanitation worker, is the status it provides. At 18, & if you don't have a job, there Social system gives you (pays for)a flat( apartment) and a TV. There system also pays $300.00 a month when you have a child, until the child is 18. Welfare? Tell me, why would anyone bother to get an education, or work harder than the next guy, when it doesn't matter. No incentive, of having a better life, for yourself, or your children, because there wouldn't be one! When my Swedish family comes to visit, they are all in awe of our country. My Aunt would ask, "Do you mean you can make as much $ money, as you want here?" and I would answer, for the most part, yes.(provided your not lazy,)They would give anything to stay. While I was visiting there, the billboards in Sweden say,'Cradle to Grave' and they mean it! It was nice for a visit, but I couldn't wait to get back to home to the United States.*
I do agree that 'all' children should be covered under health care. But as an able bodied adult, if you choose not to work, why should your hard working neighbor pay for 'your' medical bills, while you just sit around, or as you put it, feel like a reject. Just a thought.:) Happy New Year 2013

From what I've been able to glean from the 'net, guns were originally designed to defeat armor.

As weapons advanced, so did armor. The gun, which at first was more of a hand held cannon, was designed to penetrate the armor of the day.

Most of that armor contained a human being.

So, unless one was just trying to provide ventilation to the occupant of said armor, I think it's safe to say that the intent was to kill or sufficiently injure said occupant.

Shooting targets is just a practice method for improving the ability to kill. Using live targets for practice seems a bit cruel to me. Don't you think?

Those were like every invention Aero taken and contracted into something that kills other people.

Olympics target shooting is not practice to kill people.
Neither is USPSA competition. If you invented the power source
like in the Dark Knight rises , someone would turn it into something that kills people. People somehow feel the need to kill other people , that's why it happens.

Take away all the guns and people will use clubs to kill each other. I'm actually not bothered by a non permanent assault weapons high capacity clip ban. The rest of the bill sucks crap
because that's just a prelim to confiscation. It also tacks a 200 fee to owners to register a grandfathered gun. Do you seriously think that's fair to the gun owners across the nation?
Especially collectors who have dozens to hundreds of them.
