We have cracked down quite a bit on gun laws. Go to any US gun shop and they will act like they are outlawed or will be next week. It's a sticky situation with no easy answers.

I myself was in a situation in So.Cal where if I didn't have a gun I would have had my car stolen and myself and my lady friend hurt badly if we were lucky and not dead. Instead I fired a few warning shots, said how many of you want to die tonight? And they ran. There was at least 6 of them and there was no talking or reasoning.

I am grateful I didn't have to use it.

It already arrived on another thread.
What took so long? These people really need to do the research on how much less violent Atheists as a whole really are. Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Iceland are all Atheists countries and are the healthiest countries to live in. Very low crime rates, much better conditions involving education, gender equality, infant mortality and per capita income. American teens are 70% more likely to have STD than the above countries. Even in the most religious parts of America are not were you see less crime and less domestic violence.

I know people like that.
I do think that sexual behaviour should be controlled whether you are gay or not.
It's not their fault if someone feels attracted to their own sex, it can't be a sin.
There is no such thing and SIN. It's a made up religious word. A sin is when you refuse to obey the laws of that particular club. If I murder someone it's not a SIN, I have committed a crime against humanity, against the society I live in. I have failed to follow the laws of that society, and should be punished accordingly. Having homosexual desires is a natural occurrence in some people, they have no control over these tendencies, to fight them is unnatural. People who are gay have no more control over that than being white, or black, male or female.

Of course being Gay can't be a sin, their God appears to fully approve of those tendencies. He instilled it in almost every species found on the planet. If God created all living things, and many of these living things display same sex tendencies, then it is God who instilled these traits, how can it then be a sin?

I think I'll stick with Satan. He has a much better record than your demon God. According to the bible your God is responsible for well over 1 million deaths. Satan on the other hand, according to the bible, killed only TWO, Job's two sons, and that was only after God allowed him to. So those two death should go on God's side of the ledger. Satan is also NOT a baby killer, and a fetus destroyer. Satan looks more and more like the better option, yes?

Laughing now, of course any intelligent human KNOWS that both of these beings are strictly imaginary, but it's fun to toss them about, especially with the remarkably gullible.

I didn't mean that they should control themselves and not be gay, I meant gay/straight/bi/other should learn to control sexual desire.

"I have failed to follow the laws of that society, and should be punished accordingly."

But in some societies killing is not against their law, so is killing right then? Killing is a 'sin', it's wrong no matter what society you are from.

That's what we say if God created everyone/thing how could he have created something bad? He created the 'devil', my God is merciful and perfect so how can I hate the 'devil'? How could my God make a mistake? He can't!!

Define killing. Is it only a sin to kill humans? Do you have any idea how many sentient beings are slaughtered each day for profit?

Yes, that would definitely be them, and no, I'm not considering moving there, but I am hoping to visit someday. Just wondered how large a problem they actually are. Your description seems to indicate they're more of a localized problem as opposed to a widespread concern. Thank you for answering.

yh, if you are going to stick around with educated people and visit the nice areas then you won't even see any. If you do, you don't have to associate with them! It's nothing to worry about!

Most civilized people Do control their sexual desires.

Killing another man being will always be wrong, not a SIN. SIN, once again, is a religious word made up to conform to their idea of Good and Evil. Killing is against the laws of humanity, the act of killing another has NOTHING to do with religion. Evolution has ingrained in us the importance of cooperation with one another, or caring and compassion, and of kindness. If I am kind to another, I have cultivated a feeling of trust that will hopefully be afforded to me. We don't need religion to tell us that killing another human being is terrible wrong. The GOLDEN RULE is much more useful than religious edicts. "Don't do to someone as you would not want done to you." No God involved and no SIN. Why is it so hard for you people to understand that we can all be kind, careering, and compassionate, without a belief in an imaginary God thing?

It isn't fair.

I hope that we can someday synthesize all kinds of food using only basic elemental ingredients.

If we can't stop killing humans though, how are we going to stop killing other things?
