Atheism requires as much faith as religion? bearvspuma : The only problem with this rationalization is that ita s assuming all athiests are so because theya re intelligent in the ways of science and reasoning and all people that believe in a form of god are unintelligent.

That's impossible to answer. It's all relative.
It also depends on what you mean by "better".
lmao - It also depends on what you mean by "scientifically proven known history"....
Cop-out, you could not debunk my assertion so now you're making excuses as to why you opposed it. Just admit you were wrong, you cannot demonstrate why this time is any worse for any place in the world, and you cannot oppose the assertion that this is the best time in all of known history to be alive. Until you can, you should avoid making any assertion to the contrary.

You can be wacko in any economic strata. Catcher and others like him are proof of that.
Using economic strata in this type of argument tend to be discouraged in religion and secular humanism both. It ain't got no class.
I'm poorer and have been poorer than any of you, and that is a fact. I will deal with those that want to make a joke of that later.
Be nice.
Goodnight.
I dunno, Dave. I've been pretty damn poor... When I was a kid, my family of 6 lived in a broke down, converted school bus. No electricity, no running water....

The wealth of the populace is evidence to support or debunk any claim of how well off society is today. Thus, it is relevant to the topic which was being discussed. If you don't like it, don't post your status, but your sudden opposition to it suggests that you are probably less wealthy than most of the homeless in Seattle.
But you said that now is the best time to live. I think the starving Americans would disagree with you.

I think you're the most vague person I've ever seen. You really don't understand that it's all relative, can you?

I'd guess that someone in 1700's would say that's the best time in history.

I'd guess that someone in the 1950's would say the same.

What is it you love so much about the 2000's? Is it email?'cuz we don't need that.
Is it cell phones? Don't need that either.
How 'bout medicine? It's ain't all that great. Half of America is hooked on pharmaceuticals, and they don't need to be.
Is it TV? Don't need that, either. It's a huge waste of time.

So again, Koder. Quit wasting so much Topix space & just be specific.

What is it to you that makes 2012 the best time to live?

I'll have to check in to that but with all the kids them two had I seriously doubt it.
There’s 31 days and 8 hours until Christmas. At least from the US Central Time Zone.
My wife, bless her heart saves money all year just for Christmas. Then during November she goes on one grand spending spree.
At her job she picked 4 kids from the needy tree. Buying gifts for each one so that some less fortunate child can enjoy something for Christmas.
I remember one year as a child getting a Mustang bicycle with the banana seat and 20” tires. Man did I ever have fun with that bike. We would make up parachutes and put them on the back of bikes. Then race them like dragsters. Pulling the rip cord and deploying the parachutes at the finish line. The days of our childhood were wonderful around Christmas.
So Tim Boe, tell me about your Christmas past.
There's nothing definitive, but look at that dude, listen to him talk, and you will probably agree. And then there's the fact that he runs a gay conversion camp, and constantly says things like "we all have desires that we shouldn't have, but we can control them through jesus."

The fact that he has kids doesn't preclude him from being gay - we have the term closeted homosexual for a reason - many people go most, if not all of their lives hiding their sexuality behind a front of "normality."

mine's strawberry!

noooooooooooo! LOL, if it was that I would be screaming and dancing on the roof, you would know, trust me!

I watched it, I watched it!! I can't believe I’m saying this, but I was disappointed with The Dark Knight Rises. It was ok, not as good as the other two. I miss Joker!:(

I don’t even know if they were meant to be, but some of the dialogues weren’t even funny. What really annoyed me was Catwoman. Bruce correcting Catwoman’s pronunciation, in a patronising manner, kind of reminded me of dumb ‘Clementia’, yeah me. That wouldn’t have been too bad if you were watching Harley Quinn on screen, but not blumin’ classy Catwoman. Also, I couldn’t feel the romance between Catwoman and batman; they tried really hard to pretend not to like each other that it actually worked. Catwoman had everything but something was still lacking. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but for some reason I couldn’t see the cat in her. Overall, it was not that good!!

The one thing I did like about the film was the surprises; you’ll have to watch it to find out! Also it was a VERY long film; I could have been married in that time!! Lol

Our troll of many names once claimed to own and run such camps.
He's a pathological liar though. Perhaps he wishes he could run such a camp, but is stuck in a basement watching gay porn "in order to better understand the enemy".
I'm reminded of warning labels I sometimes read on building materials: "This product is known to the state of California to cause cancer." I think California has a ban on gay conversion therapy. It's only a matter of time before the rest of the country wakes up and decides to start doing the right thing. We both know why they don't. More work for the Atheist Agenda.
The Atheist Collective certainly has a lot of work to do. In time notions of gay conversion will go the way of animal sacrifice, witch burning, and other such nonsensical christian ideas.

You can't be this clueless.

People in the 1700's died in their 20s, so not even a close comparison.

You don't like living longer? That's all because of medicine, without medicine you'd be lucky to be alive, much less healthy enough to even type.

Seriously, you are dense, and stuck in the stone ages.
