It was probably gonna go south either way!

I don't think any of you would like the tragic death of a loved one to be the center of a graphically diturbing "joke".
I know it is dfficult to make the "human connection" over the internet but showing a little respect on such a tragedy would be nice.
Ok, yes, it was probably an insensitive joke, but I didn't make it in the first place, and I am not evil incarnate for laughing at it. And the reason that it was funny to me has nothing to do with her sister, specifically.

I wasn't aware that it was a sick joke about a girl being burned to death, and I apologize for that.
However, I do maintain my opinion that the many nutcases who post to Topix do have a non-existent sense of humor, even when the topic is funny and not tragic.
It was, but it wasn't. Serah could have wondered how her great great grandfather who passed away peacefully in his sleep was doing, liberty could have said what he said, and it would have been the same joke. Her sister has nothing to do with why it was funny.

<quoted text>Don't feel bad for showing your true colours, I am sure there are many who can laugh at the burning death of a 2 year old baby girl.... you are amongst them! Stand forth, don't apologise for who you are, and laugh as loud as you can, I am sure there will be those who will stand with you laughing. Thank GOD I am not nor will I ever be, one of you or them......
I am so sorry, that you had to endure such evil form these people. The bad thing about Topix is that the dredge of societies crawl out.

I know. I am not blaming anyone. Just adking for us to learn from this and be a little more careful and thoughtful in the future.

If the joke was made about Moses or Jesus then I would have been rolling on the floor in laughter.

I have had experiences I can not explain, if that is what you mean.

I saw a shadow that looked like a small animal 'run' across the room...twice...the night after my ferret died. I had premonitions of their deaths the day before two of my ferrets passed away unexpectedly.

Thanks for the Pillar of Fire nod, good story. He mentions Poe and a few other of my favorites in the writing and it was just at the last I figured out that he was writing a "Poe like" story himself.

Had Poe been of this era.

The story over all had that musty, and dank Poe mood about it.

Atheism requires no faith. It requires a brain. Sadly 90% of humans don't know how to use it.

And that's why religion exists. Liars like to fool themselves and others.
