<quoted text>Then why did you write you felt bad for laughing??
Oh, what the heck, you said you are young and you are obviously too proud to say you stuffed up laughing at the posting in response to a young girls grave....
I am not anger, I am just very very happy indeed that I would never have laughed at the posting, ever!!
Because the joke was, as I said, related to an unpleasant event in your life. For the last time, this does not mean that I was laughing at your misfortune. I was laughing at the joke. At the time, I did feel a little bad for laughing at it, but can't really say that I do anymore.

And I don't think I ever denied laughing at the joke, so there goes your "too proud" comment.

He was for real. I'm not without skills. I researched.

You quoted only the joke about how she was doing? Is she not, as was written, decomposing in the ground? What is so funny about a 2 year old decomposing is absolutely beyond my comprehension, and if it is that comprehension, that in your eyes would make me mentally efficient, then thank GOD I am mentally deficient!!
You are getting me really frustrated. Are you really this dense, or are you messing with me?

For the last time, I hope, I do not find the actual decomposition of your sister funny. Ok? Write that down on a note pad or something.

What I do find funny is the split/dichotomy (two words you apparently do not know the meaning of) between the christian version of the afterlife vs. the "atheist version" of the afterlife. You wondered how your sister was doing, implying that you assume she is experiencing some sort of afterlife, or else you wouldn't wonder how she was doing. The joke was that you could easily find out how she is doing (or, within the context of the joke - her level of decomposition), by doing a little research. That is the joke that keeps going over your head - the contrast between two different versions of what happens after we die. The actual death and decomposition are not the funny parts of the joke.

I don't think I can explain it any clearer. Now please cut it out. I'm sorry that we have had to constantly discuss a painful memory of yours, but you need to understand that I don't think it's funny that your sister is dead. I'm afraid you aren't going to get it, but I tried.

I don't think Tim would make fun of your sister's death.
I know posters that would. The ones that call me hoppy and Eileen. I take it in stride :)
It's just a message board, dear.
Thank you. The only reason I keep responding to her is because I want to make her understand that it's not the death itself that was funny to me.

Well done, Mr Smartypants, there are at least 3 of you that find her little decomposing body a funny topic for a joke, let's see how many more step up with you!!
I wasn't aware that it was a sick joke about a girl being burned to death, and I apologize for that.

However, I do maintain my opinion that the many nutcases who post to Topix do have a non-existent sense of humor, even when the topic is funny and not tragic.

Under other scircumstance the joke might have bene appropriate. It was too close to home IMHO.

I don't think any of you would like the tragic death of a loved one to be the center of a graphically diturbing "joke".

I know it is dfficult to make the "human connection" over the internet but showing a little respect on such a tragedy would be nice.

Ok, yes, it was probably an insensitive joke, but I didn't make it in the first place, and I am not evil incarnate for laughing at it. And the reason that it was funny to me has nothing to do with her sister, specifically.

It was, but it wasn't. Serah could have wondered how her great great grandfather who passed away peacefully in his sleep was doing, liberty could have said what he said, and it would have been the same joke. Her sister has nothing to do with why it was funny.

I know. I am not blaming anyone. Just adking for us to learn from this and be a little more careful and thoughtful in the future.

If the joke was made about Moses or Jesus then I would have been rolling on the floor in laughter.

I have had experiences I can not explain, if that is what you mean.

I saw a shadow that looked like a small animal 'run' across the room...twice...the night after my ferret died. I had premonitions of their deaths the day before two of my ferrets passed away unexpectedly.
