Roll Me Away by Bob Segar is a bad mamba jamba as driving songs go. Born to Wild/steppenwolf has to take the cake though.

Hey Fundiesmacker,
I love ANY song from Physical Graffiti when driving! Custard Pie, The Rover, In My Time of Dying, Black Country Woman, Boogie With Stu...all of them. Also, anything from Zep one, esp. the bluesy stuff.
I can't believe I forgot Foghat! I meant to put Slow Ride in the options.
Yeah Fish, agreed on Physical Graffiti - it spawned a lot of "metal bands" too from what I hear.

Fight Fire With Fire ( Metallica) keep listening after the slow intro!

http://www.youtube.com/watch...

Pretty Woman (either Roy Orbison or Van Halen)

http://www.youtube.com/watch... (VH)

http://www.youtube.com/watch... (Orbison)

Little Sister (Elvis Pressley)

http://www.youtube.com/watch...

Keep a Knockin' Little Richard (listen to the drumbeat in the beginning - Zep's drummer Bonzo Bonham copied it for the intro to Rock and Roll because when they recorded it he was listening to this song in his headphones)

http://www.youtube.com/watch...

Shotgun (Junior Walker and the Allstars)

http://www.youtube.com/watch...

Great Balls of Fire (Jerry Lee Louis)

http://www.youtube.com/watch...

Okay...time to go off to my weekend job. Have an awesome day all, you too Fish! Let's keep this going! I'm gonna have to add some to my collection!

<quoted text>Yes, definetly a good driving song.
I use to have ones I would listen to as I was drving to certain places.
For instance when I would frequent a certain bar, I use to listen to In The Flesh?-Pink Floyd
Another favorite is Interstate Love Sons-Stone Temple Pilots
The STP song is another excellent choice! Thanks!

Yes, I had Neil Young on my mind last. While driving back home on our long trips from Pittsburgh, PA to Grand Rapids, MI we use to listen to "Everbody Knows This Is Nowhere" as soon as we reached MI state line.

Road House Blues definetly! LA Women also.

Ahhhhh, you're cool, I like you. Anyone else who mentions Van Halen makes me feel happy. I love that band, always did and always will!
Oh Yes. I love Van Halen also.

Back in 1990, I volunteered myself as a Hair Model, but had no idea I was going to be walking a CatWalk. We were a bunch of hotties dressed in black with "Ain't Talkin' Bout Love" playing. Much better than the one before us who played "Vogue" by Madonna. Not that I don't like her or the song but we were way cooler! LOL

Hearing "Everybody Wants Some" while driving is always a pleasure to.

Basket Case by Green Day is another fun one.
Basket Case is such a fun driving song and fun song in general. American Idiot and Holiday are great Green Day driving songs. I also love listening to the entire Jesus of Suburbia/St. Jimmy, etc. medley when I'm driving!!!

Late last year, I saw Van Halen at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia. It was awesome. We were in a private suite, drinking our butts off, dancing, rock n' rolling! The best part: it was the REAL Van Halen with Roth. They played all the old-school Van Halen and not one peep of any of that crappy Van Hagar stuff. It rocked!!!

Someone mentioned earlier about day time songs and night time songs. I'm like that sometimes too and Robert Plant's Big Log is a great song for me at night....."Rider's on the Storm"/The Doors is another one I enjoy on a night trip.
Great thread Fish!!!
Thank you, Nightflyer. It's just a little fun-aside from the serious threads. Gotta inject some levity now and then!

I'm checking in for a few minutes, then I'm out for the day -- and a party tonight. I'll probably check in again late before bed time.

Oh yeah, Pal? Can you PROVE there is no arguing on this thread or is it just your belief? LOL!!!

It's great to have a thread with nothing but brotherly and sisterly love, solidarity and story-sharing! I know it's a cliche but it speaks volumes about the power of music -- any kind of music, doesn't it?
