What began as a call for hearings and a full and transparent investigation into the deadly terrorist attack on our Benghazi consulate has now been turned into something more akin to a bad reality TV series -- complete with mystery, intrigue, beautiful women, powerful men, government agencies and enough sordid details to make even a Hollywood producer blush. However, amidst the scandalous storyline, Grassfire finds it curious that just days before Senate and House hearings into Benghazi are set to begin, details about an affair between CIA director David Petraeus and his biographer explode across the front pages.
Is this a carefully orchestrated smoke screen by the media and the Obama administration to shift focus from the terrorist attack that claimed the lives of four Americans on September 11, 2012? The hearings will proceed as planned, but without former CIA director David Petraeus, prompting Senator Lindsey Graham (R-SC), a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, to tell CBS’“Face the Nation” on Sunday,“I don’t see how in the world you can find out what happened in Benghazi before, during and after the attack if General Petraeus doesn’t testify.”
As New York Times reporter Frank Bruni writes: "There are bigger issues here. There are questions of real consequence, such as why the FBI got so thoroughly involved in what has been vaguely described as a case of e-mail harassment, whether the bureau waited too long to tell lawmakers and White House officials about the investigation, and how much classified information Broadwell, by dint of her relationship with Petraeus, was privy to. The answers matter." The answers do matter, and despite the best efforts of the media and this administration to mislead and misdirect the attention of the American people, the truth is that Ambassador Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty and Ty Woods were brutally murdered and someone must be held accountable. That's why in the morning hours of November 15 -- just prior to the start of the hearings -- Grassfire will be on Capitol Hill hand-delivering petitions to the House and Senate intelligence committees. Go here now to ensure that you are included in this important delivery on the morning of these hearings: ...
From our vantage point, it is obvious that the American people are being played as fools by the Obama administration and the media. We are asking that you step up right now and fight for the truth by adding your name to our petition calling for a full and transparent investigation into the Libya cover-up. Unless grassroots Americans continue fighting through the smoke screen, demanding justice and accountability, the real truth about Benghazi will never come to light. And there will never be closure for the victim's families. Go here now to take immediate action by signing our petition:
After signing, please alert your friends and family members. Don't let them be misled by this Obama/media smoke screen. Urge them to take quick action with you by signing our petition so they too can be included in our Thursday morning delivery to the House and Senate intelligence committees. Thank you, in advance, for your efforts.
Grassfire Nation
P.S. PETITION UPDATE: We are less than 7,000 petitions shy of reaching 110,000 petitions. Please sign our citizen petition and urge your family and friends to do the same. Don't allow the Obama administration and the media to play Americans for fools. Demand the truth today!
