Thank you all, for your comments. It is painful to see Dad being out of his normal character. He doesn't need a sitter as he gets up and goes all over the assisted living doing things all day. I'm glad I phoned his doctor. I'm taking him there on the 14th.

Mrs. Poe, I'm so sorry about the 8 years with your mother with Emphysema. My husband still smokes. Already has mild emphysema. We all beg him to stop smoking but he won't.

I understand to stop buying jewelry. I already have quite enough.

Nora,
If he does this in the late afternoon it could be Sundowners Sundrome. He could be tired by the afternoon and thus overly tired and fractious in the late afternoon. The Assisted living staff could help with this.

I'm sure he has sundowners. Also, when everyone went out of town to the church convention, it scared him. So I won't leave him alone again. I hear this is also common, but I thought he'd be OK since he is cared for in the assisted living.

Dan's Mom had a bad case of Sundowners. An afternoon nap seemed to help avoid the overly tired behaviors in the evenings.

Well, I was supposed to have contractors here fixing my water line. They called at 7:30 AM to say their equipment broke down. They have to fix this boring tool that goes under the ground and keeps them from having to dig up the whole yard. Here it is almost 2PM. They said they thought they would be able to get here by 2 PM. I hope they come soon. Storms are rolling in.

They got here, and they have drilled into the house to run a new water line. Lots of scary noise. I hope it all goes well.

I am very tired today. We went on a nice lunch cruise on a big 63 foot boat yesterday and it was so much fun. The cruise lasted two hours and the guide talked about the wildlife along the way. It is on Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia and the lake has 525 miles of shoreline and is as deep as 250 feet. We use to go there back in the 80's and stay at a house right on the lake. We would keep our boat at the dock next to the house. Now hubby says he would like to find a nice travel trailer or fifth wheel and keep it at an rv park on the lake year round. That way we could leave our boat over there and just drive back and forth. Land there is so darn expensive so rental at an rv park is the next best option. First we have to find a nice camper to stay in. They are as nice inside as a house and fully equipped.

The only thing I have bought so far was winning a bid on ebay for an opal bead necklace and it just shipped from India today.

Has any of the ya ya sisters bought any jewelry lately other than Nora with that gorgeous tanzy pendant?

Well, they finished the water line and the meter has stopped turning when there is no water being used in the house. No more leak in the yard! Yay! The rain held off until after they left. Some thunder and a little rain tonight.

Mrs. Dolittle, that lake sounds wonderful. I love the water, but my hubby is not one to want a boat. I am glad he will go on a cruise once in a while. To have a place to be a weekend getaway on the lake sounds nice.

Anyone hear from Shopping Gal today? Wasn't she supposed to go back to the doctor with her husband today?

Shopping Gal, how did it go with the doctor today for you hubby?

Mrs.Dolittle,
That lake sounds wonderful. I think the RV there is a great idea. Do you have a picture of the opal bead necklace? I am still enjoying the bracelet I was able to snag with that 20% off.:-)

Mrs.Peacock,
That is great your water meter ain't a twirling constantly.:-)

I too am anxious to hear from ShoppingGal about her husband.

Oh that necklace is gorgeous!!

I hope we hear from ShoppingGal soon.

It has been raining here daily too. The ground is so soaked that hubby can't play golf or mow! No one can mow. It is really going to be hard to mow when he can.

Oh that RV sounds wonderful! It would be wonderful to visit the lake.

My dog is on Prednizone for immflammation in that ear she had surgery on. We have given up and will leave the last ear hematoma alone No more.

I think I'm going to take social security at age 62.

I'm not buying right now.

Our next door neighbors are moving out. That house is a rental and the neighbors were so great. Now we await to see who moves in next. Gulp! I pray for someone nice who likes to mow.

Hi, Ladies...... I guess the doctor's appointment went pretty well. He is going to have two surgeries. First on his neck since that is the worst and then on his back. Two specialists will be there for both surgeries. We go to see doctor #2 on August 19 and then a date will be set for the first surgery. The doctor said it will take him 8 months to a year to recuperate. Sounds like all kinds of fun and games coming up.
Thank you all so very much for asking about us. It means a whole lot to me!

COPYTHAT.....How did the bone scan go? I'm so taken up with what's going on with my hubby that I can' remember anything else I guess.

MRSPEACOCK.....Aren't you glad to have new pipes? At least you won't have to be paying for water you aren't using.

BELLA.....How are you doing?

MRSPOE.....I agree with you 100% about eBay. I have to top buying there too. It's too expensive and I have enough to open a store.

MRSDOLITTLE....That boat cruise sure sounds nice. I wish they had something like that were I live. There is nothing around here.

NORA....Taking care of an aging parent is horrible and very stressful. I took care of my Mom for ten years. My prayers go out to you and your Dad.

ZaZa's,
You bring lots of news....

Copythat...keep us posted when you know more.

Shoppinggal, I hope that the surgeries work well. There truly is never a dull moment. God willing, all will go well.

Mrs. Peacock...so finally, water is no longer haunting you. Home repairs stink except for cosmetic ones like new paint, furniture, etc...

Mrs. Dolittle,
sounds like what ya been doing has been fun and tiring. I have so appreciated the freedom of not working to have a little fun, but going back after next week.

Bella,
How ya feeling in general? You need to give yourself some spa treatment and a fancy dinner..you poor girl. Hopefully on the other side of pain.

Did I forget someone? Scarlet just pooped a big one on my living room area rug. Kind of blends with the pattern, so it' dangerous. Gotta clean up before it gets walked on.....yuck....

Shopping Gal! Wow! 2 surgeries! I hope that it will make his life pain free. 8 months to a year? Sound like he will have lots of rehab and physical therapy. My prayers go up for you both!

Mrs. Peacock, It is wonderful when a problem like your leak is finally repaired. What will your water bill be like?

Today my dad had a great day. They took a group of them to a special tearoom for lunch and a tour of the mansion it is in. He loved it. And we have mineral rights to a piece of land in a county. We all got certifed letters (My sister, Dad and myself) for a oompany to drill on our land! I say yes!
