At some point the US must make clear that freedom of speech means the ability to express ideas including those of criticism of those in power but not so people can intimidate and threaten others or deliberately harass and cause distress.

Protesters at funerals are not necessary for free speech. They can express their hatred and bigotry without distressing people at the grave of loved ones.

KKK can express their beliefs and even protest publicly but not through the residential neighborhood of predominantly Jewish people.

Some restrictions do not prevent the expression of ideas but there is no reason to allow the type of rhetoric that encourages or threatens physical harm.

Objections and criticism of health care does not have to allow that type of rhetoric and would not infringe on the purpose of freedom of speech.

Absolutely no indication that the person arrested was in any way associated with the tea party. The use of the term t-bag is a demeaning sexually explicit insult that only immature grade school children or insecure politicians would use.

As an independent I am beginning to wonder if I should not have some interest in the tea party if the radical left wingers feel that threatened.

You must mean under Obama's Patriot Act, since he wouldn't allow it to expire.

The liberals are selling this country out and then they wonder why people are mad at them. They just don't get it. Come November they will.

Ever notice that when someone strongly dissagrees or publicly oposes either Republican or The Democratic Status Quo they are INSTANTLY LABELLED AS UNSTABLE or CRAZY OR WHATEVER IT TAKES TO QUIET THEM. LOOK AT WHERE OUR MISERABLE TWO PARTY SYSTEM HAVE DONE TO AMERICA AND THE AMERICAN PEOPLE. OUR POLITICIANS SHOULD ALL BE TRIED FOR HIGH TREASON THEN TAKEN OUT BACK AND SHOT. THEY HAVE SYSTEMATICALLY BEEN SELLING US DOWN THE RIVER FOR FOUR DECADES. Nancy Pelosi is a FREEKIN DISGRACE AS A LEADER AND WORSE YET SHES A DISGRACE AS A HUMAN BEING.

Most protesters I guess are jobless or underemployed. People who works full time don't have time for protests.
