It's very easy to explain why, the fact that the US has seen its best days, and is in the process of becoming a footnote in history. It's all in the old saying; United we stand, divided we fall. Between the problem of Political Correctness and discord between the races, gay vs. straight, this ever-growing us-and-them mentality, we are most certainly – a nation divided. And therefore, we are in the process of "falling". At the base of this are issues like citizens identifying as African-American, Chinese-American, or any other [insert ethnicity here]-American. If it could be brought about, the realization that every citizen is an American, with nothing in front of it, all of us equal to one another in the eyes of the law, and the Constitution, then we could be more united and we would have a chance of "standing" in this brave new world economy. But we don't, and we won't, and therefore – we shall not. Stand, that is. And this is why America is circling the drain.

Dave, your 9 points above.--------- You are 150% right on the mark.

But, I don't think that this stuff can be stopped.

Because the United States has "Identity Politics".

This nation has group dynamics, racial dynamics & racial politics.

From February, 2009 till now.------ The United States has become more & more divided & polarized along these lines.-------- Ideology, class & race

Regarding race, it is primarily between African Americans (Descendants of black American slaves) & White-Americans. By a very, very long stretch.

Regarding the ideological divide. Examples.-------

1. The Tea Party protests.------ There were (Still are) many supporters of the Tea Party protestors.

But, there were (Still are) many detractors of the Tea Party protestors.

2. Disagreements over the Democrats Health Care Plan.------ There were many opponents (Still are) of the Democrats Health Care Plan. But, there are also many supporters of the Democrats Health Care Plan.

There is NEVER going to be unity in this nation.

There will always be division & polarization along these lines.----- Ideology, class & race.

Regarding race.------- It is primarily between African Americans (Descendants of black American slaves) & White-Americans. By a very, very long stretch.

The Failure of Democracy

author unknown

"In those days there was no king in Israel. Each man did that which was right in his own eyes. "(Judges 21:25 )

The last verse of the Book of Judges is a summary, the bottom line, of the entire book. It reminds us of the repeated pattern for the previous 21 chapters. Israel kept sinning against God. But what was their problem? Why did Israel go wrong? And what does the Book of Judges, and this verse in particular, have to tell us about God’s ideal civil government – and America today?

By comparing Scripture with Scripture, one comes to the following conclusion: God’s ideal civil government is what may be called “the Righteous Republic.” It is a republic. That is a civil system of limited government. A republic is not a monarchy nor anarchy. Israel had been granted such a government by the direct grant of God. But Israel strayed, and their republic degenerated into a kind of anarchy that was wide open for the rise of a monarchy

More importantly, Israel’s republic was no longer a righteous republic. It was not righteous because the vast majority of Israelites followed their own inclinations and opinions rather that the Word of God. And when that happens, a republic cannot stand.........
