I gotta lol at this post of yours.

When I was writing mine, I got to thinking.

"Is Hip gonna think I'm calling him a music snob? Nah, he'll get that it's descriptive of what I'm not."

(Yes, I think in correct verbage, with commas and all.) big :)

You weren't being a snob, I was being silly, but truthful. I do like what I like.

I'm still thinking of that island list.

Peace, of course, ya big silly!

"What are the facts? Again and again and again — what are the facts? Shun wishful thinking, ignore divine revelation, forget what "the stars foretell," avoid opinion, care not what the neighbors think, never mind the unguessable "verdict of history" — what are the facts, and to how many decimal places? You pilot always into an unknown future; facts are your single clue. Get the facts!"
I didn't remember that one, Mac, but I've got it C&P'd now. Thanks!

I like this one!

Matthew 16:28 the following interesting quotation is ascribed to Jesus: "Verily I say unto you, there be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom."

So, if we do not have 2000-year-olds walking around, JESUS LIED! AGAIN!

Wait! I know! Jesus was talking to the Jews at the time and the Greek word for "Cupcakes" was mistranslated as "Death", so this really says, "which shall not taste of Cupcakes". By the way, Cupcakes was actually the prostitute that Jesus saved.

So, the Bible, which is 100% accurate was simply mistranslated. And, in fact, many of those men standing around at the time did not get to taste Ms. Cupcakes. So you see, the accuracy of the bible is proven.

"THE LAW" is the 10 Commandments.
The Law to Jews are the hundreds of laws that are described in the OT and that orthodox Jews still follow. That was the Law that Bible Jesus talked about when he supposedly countered criticism of his followers working on the sabbath or when he made kosher laws secondary to one's speech [Matt.15.11]

Not:Jesus said if we obeyed those 2 great Commandments, we would have to obey the other 8.

AY: Citation? And those two great commandments are also in the Torah.

Not:If the Jewish laws had any value to us, we would still be making sacrifices to God,

AY: But the laws did have value to the people Bible Jesus supposedly lived with, and he did not say in the gospels that the laws are without value.

Not:The 10 Commandments are in the N.T. and will always be of utmost importance.

AY :Where are they in the NT?

So, if death doesn't taste like cupcakes, what does it taste like?

<quoted text>That is often how it works, ain't it? Most favorite songs evoke some person, place, or time. Back before Rod Stewart went Vegas, he had some great stuff solo and with the Faces. His version of Hendrix's "Angel" is indelibly linked to memories of my hs freshman year girlfriend (who happens to be my wife today).
That last sentence is sweet.

Two years ago, a friend and I attended a concert at the Daughters of the Revolution Constitution Center (mouthful, eh?) in Washington, DC. It was a Jimi Hendrix tribute with various artists taking turns during the evening playing Hendrix material. Among others, the list included Noel Redding and Mitch Mitchell from Jimi's band, Robbie Krieger of the Doors, Kenny Wayne Shepherd who was amazing and performed the most heart-felt Hendrix guitar work and Blues legend Buddy Guy.

<quoted text>A testament to his musical talent beyond lyrics and vocals. For my money, Anderson has the loveliest male voice this side of Roy Orbison.
I love Roy Orbison's voice. When he, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty and Jeff Lynne formed the Traveling Wilburys, Dylan remarked that listening to Orbison sing in the recording booth was like experiencing opera.

Though I'm not a huge fan of U2, Bono has a terrific voice and I love the range he shows in New Years Day. An artist whose voice is underrated is Paul Rodgers. I have seen him four times, once with Queen and let me tell you, that guy's pipes are still powerful yet crisp even after all these years. One guy in the audience next to me said "I hate him." In the context of the conversation, he was simply stating how incredulous he was that his voice has held up so.

Zep or Beatles? Oh, man. I guess I'd have to fall back on the rocker ethos and pick one, and smuggle the other in.
Ha! Very clever! Too easy, however. Beatles or Led Zeppelin?

Ten artists for the deserted island:

The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Jimi Hendrix, The Moody Blues, The Electric Light Orchestra, Deep Purple, Bob Marley, Louis Armstrong, Rush.

Beatles or Zeppelin? For me, The Beatles.

<quoted text>You've spent your entire life trying to please others and their expectations of you. You somehow mixed pleasing others with pleasing Jesus. Jesus adds no pressure to your life. You do that. Your primary focus has been the reactions of others toward yourself. Don't blame Jesus for that. He says in His Word that His yoke is easy and his burden light. But we can made things difficult for no reason at all - and then we blame Him. Your focus at a young age obviously influenced you later. Personal relationships - whether natural or spiritual - are all built and maintained thru trust. Not thru expectations. We maintain friendships not because our friends or us are perfect. But in spite of our imperfections we yet love and trust. That's life. Your relationship with Jesus should be the same. It should be based on your trust in Him, and His in you. You sound like you are disappointed for Him "failing" to completely reveal His grace towards you. He's already done that. We just take it for granted. Things like breathing, talking, comprehending, walking, etc. Besides the fact that there was no greater grace than God offering up Jesus for yours and my sins. So, in essence, He has never failed you, or refused you. You just really haven't taken the time to be real with Him...and get to know HIM. He still longs for that from you. It's all about your trust of Him - and His trust in you. It's mutual, but you've been one-sided with this for too long. He alone is worthy. We are not. He owes us nothing. Yet has given us EVERYTHING. Don't give up hope in Him. Even now...HE needs you.

The true believers squirm around on this clearly worded scripture, Saying things like " oh, that was fulfilled at His transfiguration", or "He meant the establishment of the church", or...and so on. They have no single satisfying answer to this obvious contradiction.

Daily Horoscope for January 5

Taurus

Everything seems to be getting under your skin at the moment, but this is no excuse to lose your temper, and you know it. Better by far to be discreet and plough on steadily, without looking to the left or right. If you keep your feet on the ground and don't get discouraged, there are definitely fair winds that will blow you along. It's just a question of finding the right balance between confidence and commonsense.
