The human body is in no way perfect. The fact that men lust after anything on two legs does not make it perfect, just desirable to men.
The eye, which is a great taunt of creationists, is not able to see at night, like some animals and birds. It is not able to withstand UV rays, and is easily damaged by the smallest piece of trash.
While functional, an owl's vision is much better and more telescopic.
The body breaks, becomes arthritic, and is riddled with the ability to decline from disease.
No omniscient god would have made such imperfect bodies for his 'glory'.

I am curious as to what christian sect some of you believers are members of. I showed my parents and brother this thread and they were shocked by some of the so called christians on here. They are quite active members of their church and have been members for, in my parents case 60+ years each. They were shocked that "people called themselves christians after berating and insulting people who believed differently than them considering that all good christians strive to live as christ-like as humanly possible. Ephesians 4:15-19 says 'We are to speak the truth in love and use our words to build others up, not allow rotten or destructive words to pour from our lips.' So from two 60+ year old good god-loving christians, shame on you."

Also quite needy and insecure to say love me above all others. As a mother and a wife, no love can even come close to that. As a parent, I would stand in eternal flames before I allowed my children to be in pain. When I was a kid, I was taught how loving and caring god and jesus were. They never tried to use fear on us. Sure we had learned of sins and hell but we were not threated with them to keep us in line. I watched the documentary Jesus Camp.....scared the shite out of me. I wanted to cry seeing all those young children being scared and threatened until they broke. It was disgusting.
Imo, there is no difference between jesus camp and taliban-type indoctrination. That was a horrible portrayal of child abuse.

First, they'll ask you what denomination your parents are, then declare them not 'true' christians for disagreeing with their behavior. It will go downhill from there.

Hip, I'm gonna save this one for later. I'm in a great mood today and I'd rather not get tee'd off if I can help it. Thanks for the link. I still get sick thinking about the jesus camp one.

I can't even watch the videos to completion. It is just so horrific my mind cannot grasp it and my heart breaks for those who have to endure this kind of thing.

Really? OK, so you explain why the "Master Designer" made our breathing intake and food intake at the same place producing thousands of choking deaths every year.

Or how about the reproduction area is in the same plumbing as the waste disposal. That was a crappy idea, pun intended.

What the heck is a Coccyx for? Why are some humans born with tails?

You've got a lot of 'slaining to do!!

<quoted text>D, I grew up in a trailer. You gonna call me white trash too? I have read some pretty deplorable stuff you have posted too you know. Should we call you some names as well. Love thy neighbor or have you forgotten that little verse. Seems a shame to have to go back and start pulling all of your nasty posts for all to see all over again. I may even have to start a thread just to put them all on so all of topix can see how you can be. Play nice now D.
Did I say anything about being brought up in a trailer ? My comments concern an adult female who see's nothing wrong with cussing in front of children.

How very christian of you to call another person trash! I would think you would be a little more afraid of hell. To quote your own favorite work of fiction Matthew Chapter 7, "Judge not lest you be judged."
I'm not judging her. By her own words she has made judgment upon herself as to the type of person that she is.

Did JQ Christian or any other 'christian' come up with an explanation for the fact that Christianity is borrowed from earlier religions?
Here's a fun thing to do with two fundies.{Yeah, I know, but burning them is illegal. LOL Just kidding}
Get two bibles and have one read from Isaiah 37 "When King Hezekiah heard this, he tore his clothes and put on sackcloth and went into the temple of the LORD..."
and the other read from 2 Kings 19 "When King Hezekiah heard this, he tore his clothes and put on sackcloth and went into the temple of the LORD..."
After a few minutes of them reading what they think is from the same book, ask them to tell you where they are reading from.
I done this several times and the answer I get is, "I don't know, I never heard of this before. Is this a trick bible? Well, I will asked my preacher on Sunday!" I never hear another word from them concerning the duplication.
Free thinkers may hate to be wrong as much as anyone else, but you know, they normally except the truth when they hear it. Religious people lie, ignore, deny, hate; anything but accept the new found truth.
And just what is your point ? Is it because both verses say the same thing ?

I'm beginning to think that the surgeon general needs to put a warning label on your church "Attending these services will cause you to experience massive loss of gray matter and cause you to have delusions including but not limited to delusions of grandeur." You made your own judgements about her based on what she said about herself. We all read it and now you deny it?! How can you be so blinded by your myth that you cannot see the truth when it stares you in the face?

How is that any more literalist than believing that a snake talked to Eve? Or that there really was a tree of good and evil? Or that Noah really put all the animals of the world into his ship?
Or that the xtian god burns people forever? You don't believe in that concept of hell so perhaps you are not the literalist which puts your belief a step or two higher than those who do take every word of the Bible literally.
But perhaps there really isn't such a person, just people who interpret some verses literally and some verses more freely.
Because the serpent "satan" did speak.

AY: I don't believe in anything supernatural. I just ask people why they worship a sadistic god that burns people forever. Discerner does not believe in that concept of hell. He has a more civilized belief.
Yet when you speak of hell you speak of it literally.

Yeah, i had to go back and look at that story again. Interesting... but not asexual reproduction, rather a form of virgin birth. Faulty meiosis of the sex cells allowed one of the leftover cells to somehow join its genetic information to the one egg cell. The downside: all resulting progeny will be female...so, they can't start a new line of sharks that way. Also, only one pup to a litter has ever been born that way, so survivability would be reduced as well.
However, this misses the point. I haven't studied evolution, but I was wondering if those who believe in evolution consider it a LEAP OF FAITH to believe that organisms that were doing fine with asexual reproduction could suddenly reinvent themselves into male and female?
Maybe the earthworms got this thing started and we owe our existence to the hermaphrodites?
Who said anything about "suddenly" reinventing themselves? It could have taken millions of years for this bit of evolution to have taken place. And just because oragisms might have been "doing fine" does not mean that they continued "doing fine" and thus natural selection led to the evolution of the male and female forms. And maybe "doing fine" was just that, "doing fine," and something better came along.

Remember, though, that there are millions of bits of evidence to support the theory of evolution, but there is no evidence to support the theory of your supposed god.
