It is a crazy, insane, exhilarating feeling to know that I am saved forever from all my sins.
It does sound crazy and insane to those who are not of the family of God yet.
I don't blame you for concluding that we born-agains are liars, because many erudite scribes, Pharisees and Sadducees concluded the same thing.
"to know that I am saved forever from all my sins."

but dear dusty, how on earth could you ever know for sure if all your sins are forgiven, if indeed you're not saved by grace alone but also by your good works? i.e., what do you use to measure if you're doing enough works to compensate for your inability to meet God's holy standards?

please remember that "to him who knows to do good but doesn't do it, to him it is sin"

speaking of being responsible: wouldn't it be grand if all those with AIDS quarantined themselves to a restricted area until this mass epidemic was eliminated?:)

What is your description of the true Messiah?
There is no such thing as a "True Messiah".

There is a Jewish Messiah:

The mashiach will be a great political leader descended from King David (Jeremiah 23:5). The mashiach is often referred to as "mashiach ben David" (mashiach, son of David). He will be well-versed in Jewish law, and observant of its commandments (Isaiah 11:2-5). He will be a charismatic leader, inspiring others to follow his example. He will be a great military leader, who will win battles for Israel. He will be a great judge, who makes righteous decisions (Jeremiah 33:15). But above all, he will be a human being, not a god, demi-god or other supernatural being.

It has been said that in every generation, a person is born with the potential to be the mashiach. If the time is right for the messianic age within that person's lifetime, then that person will be the mashiach. But if that person dies before he completes the mission of the mashiach, then that person is not the mashiach.

There is an Islamic Messiah:

The Qur'an states that Jesus, the Son of Mary (Arabic: Isa ibn Maryam), is the Messiah and Prophet sent to the Children of Israel.[Quran 3:45] Muslims believe Jesus is alive in Heaven and will return to Earth to defeat the Masih ad-Dajjal (false Messiah),[6] a figure similar to the Antichrist in Christianity, who will emerge shortly before him before Yawm al-Qiyāmah ("the Day of Resurrection"). After he has destroyed al-Dajjal, his final task will be to become leader of the Muslims. Isa will unify the Muslim Ummah (the followers of Islam) under the common purpose of worshipping Allah alone in pure Islam, thereby ending divisions and deviations by adherents. Mainstream Muslims believe that at that time Isa will dispel Christian and Jewish claims about him.

The Jewish and Islamic Messiah concepts are similar except that Islam claims Jesus is the Messiah.

Neither are anything like the pagan Deity you call a Christ.

No kidding. Commit bad deeds? Evil thoughts? No problem! Jesus already took responsibility for all that. Pity about your victims though, but whatever.

i thought we were talking about taking personal responsibilities. therefore, Jesus says/would say "love your neighbor as yourself" i.e., if you wouldn't want to get AIDS, don't be running around and possibly infecting others.....so THERE!;)

You sound ripe for the deceiving... The anti-Christ should fill your bill. He's due any day. But, all this can be found in The Revelation of Jesus Christ.

And that relates to quarantining people how?

Christianity has not taught you much about logic, has it? Or compassion, for that matter. Which is odd, since I though compassion was one of Jesus' most important lessons. I guess you don't consider what Jesus said to be of much importance, at least not for you.

since you (an atheist-gay) continues to insist that it's your job to tell me (a christian) how to be christian, i in return will assume that it's my job to tell you how to be a better atheist-gay!

you should be out commiting genocide against all those who won't submit to your socialist agenda AND you should be surrounding houses demanding that people come out so you can have group-sex with them like your forefathers did in sodom
