What are you rambling on about now.
I don't believe in "satan" or an entity like this, so you must have me confused with another poster.
"Satan" is a construct of men. You've been duped.
<quoted text>
Where are you getting this twisted notion from?
First off - I don't believe the Bible is accurate.
Secondly - it was written by men, who are considered fallible, thus, an infallible dictation is impossible.
Thirdly - The Bible may have some good morals to teach, but nothing of what Christianity thinks is happening, will or has. These are just musing of scared people living in fear.
WHy are you no longer a Christian, if you are visiting this forum? Sometimes I have wondered why I am even trying to help you.

Interesting.
Are you familiar of how an annual year is established?
It's very elementary, storm, and you've should have learned about it in elementary school.

If you haven't then let me have the honor of presenting it to you.

A year is based on the interval of the planet earth's revolution around its solar star, aka, the sun.

What you're stating is that our solar system will be inexistence for at least millions upon millions of years which would well exceed the trillion mark.

But according to many fundamentalist christians, claim that the bible god is supposed to create a new heaven and a new earth disposing of the current one.

So who is lying?

Even though men decided not to use them in their interpretation of Jesus, and even though they contain many sayings and teachings by Jesus, they are still teachings by Jesus.
In essence, if one does not utilize these teachings, they are actually in many ways, just "half-Christian" or liars.
I can't really differentiate between the two.
*shrugs*
Yeah, good analogy...1/2 christian.
Perhaps this topic site should be revised to "WINLA1/2C...lol

Parts of Thomas may date to the first century and be as early as any canonical gospel.
Judas not so much.
I believe most date it's text -- not the single surviving copy -- to the 2nd century. I believe the surviving copy dates to the 4th century.
I may be wrong.

Thanks for the info, chess.
I'm not too familiar with the non-canonized texts and really have no interest in them, at least to a point of actually reading them.
However, I do know that the canon and non-canon differ a lot.
Hey, maybe the self-appointed clown knows?
I'll ask him.
Hi high neam and CJ.

CJ has it pretty much aligned.

GoThomas - by some scholars do date it as the earliest gospel. Others think that it may a source for Luke as well, due to the many similar uses of the Thomas sayings. This has not been confirmed, although IMO - it is very likely.

As for GoJudas, the earliest talk on this non-canonical text is 180 CE by Iraneaus in "Against Heresies", so we know it was in circulation at least at this point.

And yes, the current and only known copy is a true ancient text, and a date has been established by the Natnl Geographic team:

"Tests on five separate samples from the papyrus and the leather binding date the codex to sometime between A.D. 220 and 340."

http://ngm.nationalgeographic.com/2006/05/jud...

This only proves that this edition is of a later origin. It doesn't prove that the document was not in existence prior to 180 CE.

This is a major problem with tenents of belief - people place their faith with men and their decisions, instead of understanding the words spoke by many different men from different cultures and utilizing those statements to achieve success in "salvation".

ooops sorry - thought you were asking for a citation for something else. the citation for God's enemies becoming His footstool is found in Ps 110, but it is elaborated on in Heb 10:12,13:
"But this Man(Jesus), after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool"
you're welcome!:)
Why doesn't the author of Hebrews ever mention the virgin birth?

2 Timothy 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God” This is repeated over and over in his epistles (1 Cor.1:1; 2 Cor.2:1; Eph. 1:1; Col.1:1; 2 Tim1:1.) If this is not true then the Scripture is not inspired by God

the devil lost his power over me when i got born again.
why do you feel the need to follow him in his rebellion against God/Christ???
I don't.
The character of the devil is a mid 1st millenia BCE phenomenon.
It is impossible to rebel against christ because the christ is still pending.
