Sorry, but you're not addressing the topic, you're dancing around the subject.
Remember the topic is verses removed from the Bible. You were going to share what you learned, but you never actually shared anything.
Perhaps it might help to actually look at one of those passages, since that IS the topic.
A great introduction, IMO, is always 1 John 5:7-8, also known as the Johannine Comma. This is the >only< verse in the whole Bible that describes the Trinity.
In the KJV it reads like this:
"For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the Spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.
See the Trinity? Father, Word and Holy Ghost, these three are one. That is the only place where you will find that in the entire Christian Bible.
Now modern editions will typically read similar to the English Standard Version:
"For there are three that testify: the Spirit and the water and the blood; and these three agree."
Holy Cows, Batman! No Trinity!
So here is THE important question. In what early Greek manuscripts can this sole reference to the Trinity be found?
Answer: None. It is only found in later Latin manuscripts and later Greek manuscripts.
Now check this out from http://www.bible-researcher.com/comma.html
"The earliest instance of the passage being quoted as a part of the actual text of the Epistle is in a fourth century Latin treatise entitled Liber Apologeticus (chap. 4), attributed either to the Spanish heretic Priscillian (died about 385) or to his follower Bishop Instantius.... In the fifth century the gloss was quoted by Latin Fathers in North Africa and Italy as part of the text of the Epistle, and from the sixth century onwards it is found more and more frequently in manuscripts of the Old Latin and of the Vulgate."
Voila!
The reason that it is not in modern translations is because it's not in the early manuscripts. It was a later addition to the texts. The translators are trying to be faithful to the original authors' intent, to the best of their abiility.
The reality is this:
The corrupt translation is the KJV, one of the worst mainstream versions on the market today, which got this corrupted information from .... the Catholic Church.
Now ain't that a hoot?
Seems like a lot was left out! LOL

Jhn 21:24 This is the disciple who is testifying to these things and wrote these things, and we know that his testimony is true.

Jhn 21:25 And there are also many other things which Jesus did, which if they were written in detail, I suppose that even the world itself would not contain the books that would be written!

Now, ain't that a hoot?

Thanks for showing the readers how the text of GoJohn proves that it is anonymous hearsay testimony.

Hi, I haven't had the pleasure of following your posts, so I don't have the insight as to what you believe... but thank you for joining in...
Oh, I been around, "going to and fro in the land, and walking up and down on it" >grin<, just not so much lately. Life happens, and all that, yaknow. Thanx for the shout and backatcha. My beliefs? I believe (he said, striking a noble pose) as sayeth the prophet Steven of Martin, that sex is the most beautiful thing, that money can buy. Beyond that, ehh.....>shrug< I try to just roll with it.
Snevaeh legna wrote:
<quoted text>Who are you referring to as a mythical culprit? God? If so, do you believe he is/was just a simple man?
No, not at all. I'm addressing the antagonist in Gen 3, from your proposition. I think it's an assumption that the creature was the critter named satan, and an even bigger assumption that it is a real being, "causing" this or that changes in the Biblical texts down thru the ages. man can get enough mischief on his own without getting away with blaming it on chimeras and sprites.
Snevaeh legna wrote:
<quoted text>Okay, what say you on this...Fact, The so-called "revisions" of the King James Bible prior to 1800 were to correct typographical errors, add notes, and omit the Apocrypha from between the Testaments.
There were no changes in the actual 'Text' of the King James Bible.

***The REAL changes (over 36,000 of them) didn't start until the modern revisionists came on the scene.
Oh my!

Let me be sure I understand. It's your position that the KJV itself exists in some pristine divinely-inspired state, and that it was primarily subsequent to that, that the most numerous and egregious changes were made? >scratches head< hmmmm....

If I gotcha right, you might want to check into the first 400 years of Christian history, prior to the solidification of the proto-Catholic Church. THAT'S when it was hellzapoppin' in the realms of "sacred editorial license".

Perhaps he has become aware of a New Thing.

"When you wake up in the morning, Pooh," said Piglet at last, "what's the first thing you say to yourself?"
"What's for breakfast? said Pooh. "What do you say, Piglet?"
"I say, I wonder what's going to happen exciting today?" said Piglet.
Pooh nodded thoughtfully.
"It's the same thing," he said.

- Hoff, "The Tao of Pooh".
