<quoted text>I hear that a lot. Paul wasn't really a bad guy, just very insecure.

Who you follow is your bidness.

The reality is that when someone claims to follow Jesus, ignores the teachings of Jesus and then quotes Paul, they should expect to get corrected.

This is the 21st century, ya know.
It is? Cheers X. The irony of this is that I never paid much attention to Paul before reading these, um, Paul rants but it's cool, you can after all, think what you like about me. Hardly any point to being serious in toxic.

<quoted text>I am still not in agreement with you on Paul. However, I agree with you on your statement regarding Christians. I just wish they would be honest and/or intelligent enough to admit that they follow Paul and Constantine's religion, not Jesus' teachings and religion.

On a side note I wish Jews would admit they follow the teachings of Maimonides not the relgion of Judah or Moses.
Equal opportunity prejudice, that I can respect, a little.

<quoted text>Mary Magdalene. The first to arrive at the empty tomb and "carry the message" of the 'risen' Jesus. Without her the men would still be hiding in the upper room.

A woman who Pope Gregory called a whore in 591 and Christians continued telling this lie to this very day.

A woman who was most likely the "Apostle Jesus loved" and may have even been married to, and fathered children with, Jesus.
Nuh uh... It was Steve Rogers, he told me.

<quoted text>Yeah, I do tend to villify Paul more than he deserves. He was probably as decent as the average used car salesman, not 'evil'.
Interesting description. Reminiscent of certain toxic posters...

Ooh, I agree.
Now throw Hezekiah's Tunnel into the mix and we find pieces of history.
History is always more fascinating than mythology, IMO, of course.
Hah! I was just reading about Hezekiah's Tunnel..
*Absolutely, history is always more fascinating than mythology...IMHO as well...
One of my favorite places that I have traveled was to Rome... Lots of history there...eh?
*In one of the museums in Florence, I almost knocked over a bust. I was a curious child, and pushed on it, and it started to wobble... Lol Luckily, it did not fall. The busts were just on pedestals for all to see and touch. Not good. ha!

It would be more accurate to say that verses were added into the Bible and then recently removed when earlier manuscripts without those verses were found.
It is an attempt to be true to the authors.
Actually what I am finding is that the verses were already there, and have been removed... More to come.:)

I think it might be enlightening...:)

Have you ever heard this before?

* What do you think of Psalm 117 - being the shortest chapter of the Bible. Then, Psalm 119 - being the longest. The center chapter being 118.
There are 594 chapters before ch.18
There are 594 chapters after ch. 18 / Add them together = 1188
*Stay with me now...
What is the center verse in the Bible? Psalm 118:8 Cool huh?

*What does Psalm 118:8 say? It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.

Coincidence? or God's plan...
Just thought it was kinda cool...:)

Exactly the same, almost word for word. The compilers of Isaiah appear to have copied verbatim from the Deuteronomistic Historian's story...
It is pretty common throughout the 'Scriptures'. Done for a variety of reasons. Sometimes the "copying" changes only a word or phrase to add a completely different meaning to an otherwise well know story.

Like replacing "young woman" with "virgin".
