Have u ever read Sam Harris? He says much the same.
I have read some of his writings, and to be honest, I don't know why anyone takes him seriously. He just has circular arguments with himself. I could only make it half-way through "The Moral Landscape" and I gave up.

What I loked was that there was something ethereal and profound beyond the "creator".
I saw something totally different.

Each doll was a piece of the scientists soul...

The source...the answers...found within man.

Here are the lines from the movie Stigmata:

"The Kingdom of God is inside you and all around you,
Not in a mansion of wood and stone.
Split a piece of wood and God is there,
Lift a stone and you will find God."

I have not seen this movie...can anyone give me a recommendation?

Another Law concerning ownership of slaves as well as protecting His people from being regarded or treated harshly.
If that passage answered my question it would have said something like;
You shall have or must have or will have slaves, as I command you.
God is not telling them to have slaves, they already had them, he is allowing it but with the addition of Laws and exceptions.
Whence did the ownership of slaves originate? On whose authority? Anyone?
It may have been in early Africa. There were those with larger heads and brains who taught peace and compassion, and those with smaller heads who were not. The smaller conspired to kill off the docile leaders, and the result was warring generations and nations. I forget now what they were called, but it is a very ancient legend.

It's my understanding that Mithraism had a type of communion with bread and wine, a form of baptism, a form of the sacrament of Chrismation and of course the birthday of Mithras was said to be December 25th.
Last Xmas, I wished everyone a Merry Mithras' birthday.
