Yo man, what's up.

The Roman Catholic Church would never take part in any type of coverup.

Wait, they have.

Strike that.

<quoted text>Exodus 21:20-21 "When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. If, however, the slave survives for a day or two, he is not to be punished, since the slave is his own property."

Deuteronomy 22:28-29 "If a man is caught in the act of raping a young woman who is not engaged, he must pay fifty pieces of silver to her father. Then he must marry the young woman because he violated her, and he will never be allowed to divorce her."

2 Chronicles 15:12-13 "They entered into a covenant to seek the Lord, the God of their fathers, with all their heart and soul; and everyone who would not seek the Lord, the God of Israel, was to be put to death, whether small or great, whether man or woman."

Isaiah 14:21 "Make ready to slaughter his sons for the guilt of their fathers; Lest they rise and posses the earth, and fill the breadth of the world with tyrants."

Exodus 12:29-30 "And at midnight the LORD killed all the firstborn sons in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn son of Pharaoh, who sat on the throne, to the firstborn son of the captive in the dungeon. Even the firstborn of their livestock were killed. Pharaoh and his officials and all the people of Egypt woke up during the night, and loud wailing was heard throughout the land of Egypt. There was not a single house where someone had not died."
What's your point? Your opinions matter more than God's Laws for His people? Show me where God tells His people to have slaves in the first place? Or that they should oppress anyone? The Jews considered slaves to be their monetary property as did the Egyptians. God gave the laws to the Jews as to stop them avenging slaves, and it relates to financial circumstances. As to how to treat people God's law is found in Leviticus 22:21-24; 23:6-9.

As for your other examples, served them right for invoking God's wrath, especially the Pharaoh, he was pure evil.

Thank you Lord for Moses and for Jesus.

First, half of that post attributed to me actually comes from you.

You were pretending that my response was a matter of semantics.

It was not.

And yes. I know better than your pretend deity.

And I know your religion, its texts, and its history better than you, which is odd if that religion is so important to you.

Well, maybe not so odd.

If you really want to believe, not knowing is the best course of action.

To be clear, I'm not saying that it wasn't written by someone named John, just asking why shouldn't we entertain the possibility, since it is a common element of other apocalypses of the era.
I remember having this argument with Ehrman when I read Forged. The book never responded to my questions. If it had, I'da probably started drinking, heavily.
No. It doesn't back up the assertion that I recall. I may have missed it, but the case I made was mine, not his. And I made it merely as a possibility.

It's what they do. Can't say we weren't warned. The funniest of all things today, so far, was them showing their lack of credibility then advertising the writings of an "extian", who writes books about things he hasn't read. I'm starting to regain some respect for pure atheism. Oxymorons everywhere.

It is like a lazy man's hobby to most it seems.

My bewilderment is how anyone who "believes so deeply" has no inclination to learn as much as possible about the origins of their "beliefs".

IMHO they have no "beliefs" or they are incredibly gullible and deluded.

Then again, it is just my opinion.
I do love to read that :)

I encounter responses like this on a daily basis. Since nobody can counter my argument that two 'heterosexual' men should 'never' be allowed to raise a child people change my name and throw the largest insult a gay can throw at as a proud father with children and a wife of 20+ years. Call him a queer. The gays ultimate insult.

Try again:

You obviously didn't read the entire post. I stated that in both scenarios children will be deficient of either a father or a mother. There can be no denying this fact. But because of money, votes, and vice our no good polititians continue to place children in harms way. Some say this even constitutes as child traficking to place a child into a home where two people forfeited the natural ability to conceive a child and forfeiting the parenting process entirely. There's no way around it except for the fact that this govt is owned and run by the decadent devil himself. And it is.
Just ask the Muslims.
