I am always a bit confused as to when men refer to their "Member" in their pocket...as if it is detachable...or and add-on that they pick up and stick in their pocket in case they need it...
I find it amusing that they call their penis a "Member"...member of what??? Social club??? Garden club??? Maybe...I don't know...I wonder though. Why in the world would they carry their penis in their pocket?
I kind of skipped over that part. I thought about asking why his 'memeber' was in his pocket and then decided I really didn't want to know.

<quoted text>Thanks for the bread recipe, even though it was for NS. It sounds a lot like the Cattleman's bread I make, but the ingredients are slightly different. I usually go the whole-hog route on the Cattleman's bread and use two tablespoons of bacon drippings instead of cooking oil. Cattlemen would probably have had neither. If anything, they would have had bear grease or lard bought in some cattle town. But I guess that's neither here nor there, as the bread is a good rustic one that suffices with smoked meat or fish.
No worries, mate :-)
I suppose the cattlemen, who we call drovers, had the same idea. They were out in the sticks, so made a simple bread over their campfires.
The Aborigines made a form of damper apparently. But they would have used some seeds, as they had no wheat flour.

In terms of timing, there are "tells" that can do much to identify the period in which a text was written. But it's hardly a perfect science, really more of an art.
Yup. I don't mind theories. It is claiming they are facts that they end up becoming "religions" <wink>. I think it is the "rigorous defense" of many researchers that puts me off. I like a researcher who can put forth several theories in full and let the reader decide which to believe.

There were laws against male homosexuality and rape of Hebrew women. Lesbians, slavery, raping foreign women, castrating foreign men and murdering foreigner's babies was just fine and dandy though and often ordered to be done by God.

now....when, where, why & how did you ever become so wise in your own eyes and stopped looking at what's directly in front of you?

You mean like "John"'s pagan hatchet job of Genesis 1:1 ?

"intimidated by self-righteous & pretentious bullies" is exactly what made you a 'christian' in the first place.

<quoted text> Since war has existed ever since mankind has been on this earth, there is little to do about it but get on your knees and pray that you will be safe, or have those who are willing to die for you to stay safe.
While I do think that the commercialism of war is prolific in the US and other countries, I also think that we would have the same conditions in the US that those in the middle east have if not for those willing to keep it from being so. But people like you don't see that. You do not realize that even as I type this, Muslims are marching across this country bearing signs that demand only Muslim law instead of Constitutional law.
It may be mercenary, but the secular laws of this country are what have kept you from having to bow to the east 5 times a day or be killed.
Now that is a scary thought! Esp when u know exactly what Sharia Law involves.
Your Founding Fathers were so strong on separating church & state. So they gave the world the 1st Amendment. Great principles!
Section 116 of our constitution, giving religious freedom, is worded very similar.

Annie and WN, I know sometimes life can be confusing. Maybe this may help...

And I quote:

This comes in handy a lot of the time. I can leave it home, when I think it's gonna get me in trouble, or I can rent it out, when I don't need it. But now and then I go to a party, get drunk, and the next morning I can't for the life of me remember what I did with it.

First I looked around my apartment, and I couldn't find it. So I called up the place where the party was, they hadn't seen it either. I asked them to check the medicine cabinet 'cause for some reason I leave it there sometimes But not this time. So I told them if it pops up to let me know.

I called a few people who were at the party, but they were no help either. I was starting to get desperate. I really don't like being without my penis for too long. It makes me feel like less of a man, and I really hate having to sit down every time I take a leak.

After a few hours of searching the house, and calling everyone I could think of, I was starting to get very depressed, so I went to the Kiev, and ate breakfast. Then, as I walked down Second Avenue towards St. Mark's Place, where all those people sell used books and other junk on the street, I saw my penis lying on a blanket next to a broken toaster oven. Some guy was selling it.

I had to buy it off him. He wanted twenty-two bucks, but I talked him down to seventeen. I took it home, washed it off, and put it back on.

I was happy again. Complete.

People sometimes tell me I should get it permanently attached, but I don't know.

Even though sometimes it's a pain in the ass, I like having a detachable penis.

You include other fundies in your remarks but decide to chide someone else for including those who have similar opinions. That's hypocritical, you know.

could you answer me this:

if the cain & abel account in genesis were true, who do you think the good guy in the story is; i.e., who do you identify with:

a - cain for being angry with his believing brother?
or
b - abel for offering the acceptable sacracife to God?

There is a primary author of the text. Did he use material before his text? Yes. Where there changes after him? Yes. That is my point with the "we passages" of Luke. I think a redactor inserted the first person plural in those passage the prime author.
It makes sense but so do a lot of other ways of looking at it.

In general what we do "know" is that it is far from a first hand account of any activities of Jesus, the Apostles or Paul let alone a "true and accurate account" of much of anything except the gullibility and self deceit of humans.

If a Christian 1st cent.'DSS' is ever discovered I think many people (believers and non) will be sorely vexed.

Maybe because they were the Laws of Moses, rather than God.
