Sorry so late getting back to ya as I am sure from the other posts you have an idea now but a pretty popular rock and roll singer from the 80's and 90's. I dont know if he is still around now. i havent followed him for a while now. but has at least a dozen of what I would consider 'classics' Piano Man may be his most well-known(T) Peace

I see the point that what is significant is that it worked, and still works today, for Sunday School Christians.
It would change an aspect of Acts if it was edited. It would mean that the original author never intended to commit fraud. Given that there is no 1st person inserted into Luke or much of Acts, I'd say it is certainly plausible.
Could it be an attempt to make Luke the author? That would be about the third quarter of the second century, eh?
I suspect the original author is not the fraud -- in this instance. Not that it matters much, given his willingness to swipe earlier sources, such as Mark, and modify them at will.

It is just my sense he was a better fraud than this particular instance demonstrates, and with his credibility riding on acceptance or rejection of this ruse, I don't see him picking these passages as places to cut corners.

So yes. These passages probably were aimed by a redactor to bolster Luke's connection with Paul.

I'm not sure on the timeline. I think Irenaeus is citing this gospel as Luke's work by roughly then, so probably no later than then.

Paragraph one describes a nursing home.
Change paragraph two as follows:
I'm sure many on here are retarded, possibly deranged, posting from a PC that is slow, or even living off the taxpayer. Most are more home-bound.
Paragraph three: It matters that someone occasionally points out their sucky lives to them in hopes of breaking this addiction to Topix. Escape while you can.

Bah.
"Five years have past; five summers, with the length
Of five long winters! and again I hear
These waters, rolling from their mountain-springs
With a sweet inland murmur.—
Once again
Do I behold these steep and lofty cliffs,
Which on a wild secluded scene impress
Thoughts of more deep seclusion; and connect
The landscape with the quiet of the sky.
The day is come when I again repose
Here, under this dark sycamore, and view
These plots of cottage-ground, these orchard-tufts,
Which, at this season, with their unripe fruits,
Among the woods and copses lose themselves,
Nor, with their green and simple hue, disturb
The wild green landscape. Once again I see
These hedge-rows, hardly hedge-rows, little lines
Of sportive wood run wild; these pastoral farms,
Green to the very door; and wreathes of smoke
Sent up, in silence, from among the trees,
With some uncertain notice, as might seem,
Of vagrant dwellers in the houseless woods,
Or of some hermit's cave, where by his fire
The hermit sits alone..."

Interesting.
You wrote that Ham, the son of Noah, founded the land of Sumer.
Could I safely then conclude that Noah and Ziusudra are one and the same?
If that's the case, then you can also conclude that Enki is the creator of man, and Enlil is the dual role god/satan, and Abrum was in cahoots with Enki as a commander of forces in the battle of the kings....that would also assume that the Annunaki are the "gods" that created man, and that all the succession of kingships came from for thousands and thousands of years. A-N-D--that Marduk was also Aten/Akhenaten at the time Abrum as well as Moses was in Egypt when Tut was killed...and Abrum was indeed the general that was in place to stop the advance of the army set to invade Sinai and/or Egypt ---and the reason was to kill Marduk(Aten/Akhenaten/Tut(son) )...and that being the reason "Abrum" was chosen to be "god's" (Enki's) leader of a new "race".
If this is the real story, Abrahamism takes on a more realistic beginning, at the cost of the credibility of the "Abrahamic" fabrication that you know of today as the Torah-OT-NT of the abrahamic tradition(and of course Quran).

Which churches, exactly, don't believe in the Booble? That must be a shorter list, since Christerdom is based on that not-good-enough-for-rolling-pa per screed. So, tell me, Jester, which churches are and which are not Bobble-belieberin' churches?

Hello,

Hot nymphs, Irish vagabonds, Vidorian legends, Chess-playing jurists, Catholic pugilists, Hip Diagnoses, Spiritual guides, wolves, witches, and dumb-ass Christer snitches, how is everything in the hippest, coolest, most Xcntric, most eclectic, most electric, most ridiculous, meticulous, vertiginous, solicitous, ambiguous, solicitous, religulous thread on the tubes? I see WINLAC's little mascot, Beijar's Beyotch, is still wandering and waxing poetically about how he has to spend so much time worrying about how much time he has to spend so much time worrying about how much time he has to spend so much time worrying about how much time mac nymphs.

Same as it ever was.
