<quoted text>In addition, there is only one reason for Christians to deny Jesus' words here.
Only one?
That is that it would take away the fear tactics used by Christians to get people to join the church so they can end up having God and his kingdom only if they join and believe as instructed. It would mean that they already have it but have not recognized it, just as Jesus' was saying. It IS in your midst. It IS here now.
It could have meant the presence of Jesus
Having the God and his Kingdom here now would play havoc with Christianity as it is interpreted today. You would then have to realize that it is YOU who has to recognize it, live it, and show others by your actions and words that it IS here now. But in your version, you don't get it till you jump through the hoops, begging God to forgive you and treating people as badly as you like in the meantime, showing that you have no understanding of the teachings of Jesus.
Well without critics like you who point out our every flaw, where would we be?
It's always entertaining to watch you and others twist your brains into pretzels to discredit the words of the God you claim to worship. And it's ever so helpful.
Glad you enjoy it.

First...most people on this thread do not define themselves as atheist. It is a common problem that most Christians that come here however define us all as atheist simple because we do not believe as you do. That is why I asked...who YOU were including in your definition of atheist.
<quoted text>
I don't know about exclusive...there seems to be an overlap of beliefs between religions. As far as who is right...who is wrong...I dare say that no one religion is either. Truth generally is found somewhere in the middle.
<quoted text>
Do you know what the definition of atheist is?
So...by your standards...when you "sin"...you become atheist? Then later go back to being Christian? Sounds as if you are flipping a switch. A thought occurred though...do you lose your salvation during these atheist moments?
<quoted text>
Those that claim to be atheist have variables to their beliefs just as Christians do...well maybe not as many variables as Christians.
You yourself tried to define them by the remarks in your post that I responded to initially. You defined them by attributing crime/sin to their beliefs. You defined them by claiming they did not hold themselves accountable for their actions.
<quoted text>
All I was getting at is...how and whom do you classify atheists.
Let me ask...did you consider yourself an atheist when you posted what you did to "G"? If so...did for that time that it took you to write it did God not exist for you? Did you stop believing in him during that time?
LBR...your theory IMO sounds as if you are trying to put your wrong doings on to the shoulders of others...instead of just admitting that even those that are "saved" do wrong.
It also...at least IMO...sounds as if you have taken the words atheism and atheist and defined them to fit your agenda...your needs.
Atheism assumes no ultimate accountability to God. If an atheist can escape human justice then there is no further consequence for them to worry about. Under atheism killing a neighbor or not killing a neighbor is equally valid solution if human justice can be avoided. Atheism denies God because of lack of evidence only to go to a position in which there is no evidence. That means evidence is not the problem in the first place. I am at work and my time is limited. Bye.

I'm so sorry that you have experienced what you have, I've been there, and I wouldn't even try to change your mind because I know what it feels like to be in your shoes. The one thing I would ask you to think about before you completely make up your mind about religion is to visit a particular church. If you still feel the same way after you visit this church, then it's not hurt you to go, and you can still have the same opionion. The church is located on Highway 205 just outside of Jackson, KY. get off of highway 15 coming from Campton toward jackson, get on highway 205,make a left and go toward Lee city. It's exactly three miles on the right. You don't have to go, but just think about it. The pastor of this church is a very wise woman. I've seen God bring people out of wheel chairs, open blind eyes, heal cancer, and a lot more things I've seen God do through this woman. She's been preaching for over 40 years. If you go, and you don't feel any different, then that's fine, it's not hurt nothing by going, but if you go and get help you'll be glad that you did go. I don't like to see anyone go through what you are because I've been there, but God has really helped me through this lady, and I believe if you go, you'll get help to. Just think about it before you make your mind up:) If you want you can go through the door on the side that has the stairs, and come in late and sit in the back so you won't be bothered, it's a big church so the back pews are quite a distance from the front.

Here again is what I wrote and to which you responded:
<quoted text> Belief, not fact.
When did Jesus ever wish people to curl up like bacon while burning or wish them to have a torture worm?
YOU are the one who said you'd get to watch people curl up like bacon in a frying pan. YOU are the one who said people get torture worms. That had nothing to do with DoC, but your silliness and your own fears.
Take a break from fantasy and come back to reality.
So far the only people who have disrespected the late DOC have been Christians. Nobody else would be so low.
It makes u wonder...

I'm so sorry that you feel the way you do. I wouldn't try and change your mind because I've been there, and I know how it feels to think the way you do, but I would ask you to think about something. I would like you to visit a church that is located in Jackson. You take highway 15 coming out of Campton going toward Jackson. You get off on Highway 205, make a left and go toward Lee City. The church is exactly 3 miles on the right. The pastor is an elderly woman who has been preaching for over 40 years. I've seen God bring people out of wheel chairs, I've seen blind eyes healed, cancer healed, all kinds of sickness healed through this woman's ministry. She herself was give up to die 14 years ago, comletely consumed with cancer, treatment wasn't even an option, she was too far gone, but God healed her. It's been 14 years and she's still going strong. If you go, and you don't receive help, then that's fine, you can continue to believe the way you do, but if you go, and do get help then you'll be glad you went, and it won't hurt either way. There is a side door of the church that has stairs. You can come in a little late, and sit in the back where no one will bother you, the church is large so the back pews are a good distance from the front. They have services on Thur. 7:00p.m, Sat. 7:00p.m., and Sun. 6:00p.m. Just think about it before you make up your mind.

Now I have 138 pencils and 136 erasers that I'll never be able to sell.
Did I mention that they were made from the cross of Jesus?
Whittle the ends of the pencils a bit and use or sell them as replacements for the sticks in Tinker Toys.
Since you already have the taste of the erasers...they might taste pretty good in some beef or chicken stock.

Or you could advertise them on eBay and make a mint...cross of jesus and all...

Yet another faith healer.
Wassssup has done you better...he can raise people from the dead and remove those nasty demon things you christians worry about so much.
How much will the tithe be by the way?? Certainly these wonderful services can't be for free. Have you considered contacting the local Hospital...I'm sure they'd be very interested in healing capabilities that defy any logical explaination.

<quoted text> Matthew 26:63.''I adjure you by the living God that you tell us whether you are the Christ,(Messiah) the son of God.'' That does not mean the high priest was expecting a mere man as Messiah.
26:64....''You have said it yourself; never the less i tell you, hereafter you will see the son of man sitting at the right hand of Power (Psalm 110:1) and coming in the clouds of Heaven.''
Son of man and clouds of heaven are both referencing Daniel 7:13. It does not have to be exact. Right hand of power is beside God. This is not a man only.
<quoted text> Where?
And who inherits the new kingdom?
<quoted text>Don't know off hand what you are referencing. Most interpret Isaiah 53 as referring to Israel or a righteous remnant but Psalms 110:1 has the servant as seated at the right hand of God. They use Isaiah 49:3 as context for Isaiah 53 where the servant is Israel. This ignores Isaiah 49:5-6 where the identity of the servant is distinct from Israel. You are looking for explicit references but most are implicit. Either way the reaction of the high priest indicates he understood the claims of Jesus as the Isaiah servant or Messiah very well.
You still don't understand how the word 'Messiah/Christ' was used at that time. It simply meant a High Priest when that was written. All messiahs/christs were high preists and 'sons of God'. Period. When you can understand that you need to use words as they were used in an original text, you'll get a lot more out of it.
You have been taught what others wanted you to think you know about Isaiah. You have listened to preachers and aplogeticists for your information instead of asking the people whose book it is.

Jesus is nowhere predicted in Isaiah. I urge you to read the whole book of Isaiah without either your preacher's interpretation or apologetics.

<quoted text> Not true. <quoted text> None of that has anything to do with primary source material or the teachings of its founder which is how Christianity is defined. Critics such as yourself define it by abuses which has never been the right definition. Not only that you distort its teachings to mean we can live as we please and all is forgiven. This is all simply false.
So God doesn't forgive all your sins once you are saved? Please show me where the line is drawn from where he forgives you and where he doesn't.

His name?
Is that like a desert version of writing one's name in the snow?
There are lots of answers, but common ones include the names of the accusers, as a tie-in to Jeremiah 17:13, and the sins of the accusers, since Jesus purportedly said, let the person with no sin cast the first stone.

Truth is: No one knows.
