Agreed. If I beleived that when I die I am guaranteed eternal bliss, I would put a bullet through my brain in a heartbeat.

WOW!

You need to read the Bible/

Paul was NOT Jewish. He said he was "of the Tribe of Benjamin", one of the Lost Tribes of Israel. Only those of the Tribe of Judah were Jews.

I think you just die and your matter and energy returns to the cosmos or in religious terms, your bady returns to the earth and your spirit returns to God.

They do quote the Bible a lot don't they, it's interesting.
I have often seen some Christians get their panties in a wad over the fact that we non-Christians will read and study the Bible. I have often wondered why that is so.

I have thought maybe it is because we read it and study it far more than what some Christians do. They seem to get quite perturbed when they use a verse out of context and it is pointed out to them by a non-Christian.

For me personally...I want to know what it is and why I can't believe it all. Considering how I was raised...the family that raised me...I just think that I owe it to myself to find out why I think differently.

We all read books that we don't believe to be true...I am sure that you have. I grew up reading The Hardy Boys...Nancy Drew...etc...I never believed that they actually happened but it didn't stop me from reading them.

I know that along with myelf...several people here read the Bible. We each get from it what we search for. Some like me find parts of it worth basing our own set of beliefs on...others love it for the history...while others find it to be revealing as to how people thought more than 2000 years ago.

What I think is interesting...why do some Christians get their panties up their crack over it.

Well, I have always wondered what being super doped would be, if there was an afterlife I'd waste this one on that, just say I believe and zoom right in with the "in" crowd.

I just realized that drug addicts have more faith than most christians. Wow.

Hey, clown boy, don't worry, you will get there soon enough and find out what it is all about, you and your paltry statements aren't going to fool the saved. Fact of the matter, one does not even have to go to church to be saved! For what? To hear the Morals and Dogma of an organized religion. Prayer, in the right way, in the spirit, for spiritual understanding, not material gain or whatever it is you are a clown about, but spirit. Understanding, which you obviously lack, will soon come your way. When you draw your last breath, who you gonna call on, your god, satan. It is plain to see you are not a well read person, otherwise you would watch what you say about the Master.

Beautiful poetry...

JR might not have even known that it was quoted from his very own Bible...

or...j

That part of his Bible is torn and tattered from so much reading.

Regardless...

I love the gentle and flowing verses and how they express so much emotion.

On a side note...I learned to stay away from the "Christian interpretation"...all of a sudden...they didn't hold as much beauty.

Correct, furthermore he was the apostle assigned to preach in the west. Therefore most of the church doctrine started here is Pauline.
Wrote most of the new testament, after the convention in Nice, pulled and burned all the other holy writ to keep clowns like you stupid.

I guess it isn't quite that easy just to say "I believe" Words without deeds are dead. Clown-boy will, invariably draw his last and then his eyes will open. You see, Clown-boy, in physics, we see a very small part of the whole picture, hear very small part of the whole conversation, evidently you see a miniscule part. Everything is vibration, even the atoms in the body do not touch each other, but yet we coalesce into human form as does all matter. figure that one out.

I wouldn't know. I usually ask or wonder about something because I'm curious. Not because I have a problem with it. What you say makes a lot of sense actually, I just don't see the sense in rebuking a Christian by using a book you consider to be fictional. It's a curious thing really.

<quoted text>Sorry. I was thinking about another poster's link to an abortion support group. If abortion is supposed to be so moral why do so many women feel the need to assuage their guilty conscious with strangers at some stupid group hug meeting?
The same could be said about any religion...if it is so fulfilling...why the need for weekly "group hugs"...or entire threads dedicated to people sharing their beliefs...or...so many web sites for people to use for support from strangers.

I don't know...why do you think Christians need to get together with strangers and discuss their beliefs...if they are so sure that they already know the truth?
