Nope. A god who hates its creations so much that he'll torture them because they don't believe as another of his creations believe is not an acceptable choice.

Yeah I love Narnia too and you're right, Lewis was a lot more obvious than Tolkien with his Christian influence as Tolkien had other Mythic influences combined and one really needs to know the Bible to see it clearly in Tolkien's work and vice versa. I'm saying that because I read Tolkien before I read the Bible properly so then it was pretty obvious to me which parts came from the Bible.

People have been walking away from Christianity from the very beginning.

What else would you write if you were trying to start a new religion, teaching Jesus would return in your lifetime, and wanted to put fear into the people who walked away and those who stayed out of fear?

I still don't understand why fear is so very necessary for some people.
