That means Polybius is about 17 when Hannibal dies in 183. ''Fifty years after the end of the war with Hannibal, Polybius began to write his comprehensive history of Rome.'' http://www.epubbud.com/read.php... http://www.epubbud.com/read.php... Okay. I'll buy your argument. Hannibal is God. Are you satisfied now?

local yokel wrote: think about it 'Dearth'. I've heard many people say they left going to church because there was no love and they got hurt, I was one of them. But in checking myself out, I realized that far worse had happened in bars, pool halls, etc, but for some reason I never left the other places for the reasons I left church. I found that odd about myself. So I kept looking inside. What was I really looking for? Then I realized, I was looking for love and happiness. I'll go on and on........my point is this, look squarely at mr wiggles, the guy is a assh_le. Admit it. Are these assh_les really any better than the other assh_les? I think not. I'll close out here. As you can see, I don't have low self esteem. I just came in to hang out and see if you had thrown out the Baby with the bath water. Take care. Then you are projecting your hurt onto DoC and others who weren't hurt at all. What makes you think DoC didn't look inside? What makes you think you are superior in this way? Do you think calling others who are not Christian an asshole will endear DoC or anyone else to you...on a thread of non-Christians? You just came BACK here because you can't stand being away. And you're so sure you can 'save' those who aren't part of your mythology that your ego won't let you leave. Go ahead now and laugh normally.

My my, christianity as a religion and non-religion (according to you) has the same end result for those who dare to disagree with you and you kind. That's OK...I wish you no harm. Only you wish harm to me. See why I don't like your religion or whatever you want to call it??

You might ought to look into that in VA. See how many burned bodies they found.

My argument is there are no contemporary accounts for either Jesus or Hannibal. If you reject Jesus because there is no contemporary accounts then by that standard you must also reject Hannibal and a host of other ancient historical persons. And that is why i keep printing you have delusional comprehenion.

It always boils down to threats of burning (in this life or the next) when you don't conform to their viewpoint, doesn't it? Hell is having people on this earth who are so hate filled that they only want harm to come to those who don't believe as they do. Their mind burns up way before they could reach a physical hell, even if there was one.

And that is why i keep printing you have delusional comprehenion. When you start using historical figures in comparison with Jesus, it's your argument by default. I don't reject the historicity of Jesus. I reject any and all claims that he was the Christ. So get your fact straight before climbing all the way to the top of the fundie bandwagon. Maybe you should learn how to make an analogy. That would help you in your pursuit more than your vain and silly arguments.

That changes the crux of the debate and it's necessity to be able to claim any absolute.

lightbeamrider wrote: <quoted text> Do you? <quoted text> T-Clown was telling you what you need to hear. That is far different from degrading someone. Which cannot be done in the first place. people can only degrade themselves. They cannot degrade others. They can name call but in the process only degrade themselves. <quoted text> Get off your high horse. <quoted text> Telling you what you need to hear is loving. More loving than feeding you lies.''Faithful are the wounds of a friend. Deceitful the kisses of your enemy.'' You think you have saving relationship with God apart from the Cross of Christ? You do not. That is what you need to hear. First off lightbeamrider...I will apologize for the back and forth arguing. I forget sometimes that it is senseless to ever argue with someone that wants to justify their actions. Funny how people can read the same passage of scripture...some will find a message of love while others find an excuse to hate. It is senseless to try to reason with the later group. I have thought seriously about what you have said in your above post. I find it troubling...that one will use the Bible...use their faith...to justify their lack of respect or actions toward another human being. How far will you go to show this "love" that you refer to? Would you become physically abusive to show this "love"? We ALL say things here in this environment that is uncalled for...that steps over the line of human decency. Not all of us do it however and then call it "God's love"...or shout "in the name of Jesus". Jesus condensed all the commandments down to two. Love God. Love your neighbor as "yourself". I find the word "yourself" to be the most interesting... Maybe it explains that "love" that you talked about...maybe one treats themselves in the same manner that they treat others. Before you can respect your neighbor you must first respect "yourself". Before you can show compassion, kindness, love you must first have those same feelings toward "yourself". You brought up the issue that this is Topix...as if no rules apply here. Maybe we should change the following to include... 37 Jesus replied:“‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it:‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.” Verse 41 Unless you are on Topix then don't worry about following any of this.

They can not come up with any other Logical input so...damn them to the hell-place...that will fix 'em... The cool thing is...I don't damn them to anywhere...I don't have to. They are suffering in their delusion without my wishes or direction.
