The assumption that "Nazarene" meant that it was a village or whatever is totally incorrect as stated in the gospels. He was a "Nazarene" alright, but that was a sect (radical) of the Essenes.
The writers obviously were not from that area or time, and did not have a clue what they were talking about.--They just <assumed>
