Start with Exodus 20 and read through 20, 21, 22, and 23. Those are the commandments of which Jesus was speaking. Jesus was a Jew. He taught the Jewish laws. Why would say keep those cammandments and then at the last moment change his mind? I don't think Christians ever , EVER think about what is actually in the Bible. the commandments are good; only problem is that no one has been able to keep them without fail. the Bible (james) says that failure in one point is failure in all. that's why the world needs an A T O N E M E N T! you may think you're a good enough person without an Atonement, but the laws says you're not

If you want sensationalism for the sake of sensationalism, Fox News is the channel for you!

I think you'd better fun along now. Thanks for playing. Funning along, Wordjerk.

Could any of you involved explain to me how is it thinking clearly to state that the logical outcome of Christianity, is killing our children at birth to keep them from harm? Someone even saw fit to question hickup for being a literalist…. No matter how I try to look at this discussion, it simply reads extreme to me.

In this world of sin and pain, we only meet to part again. But when we reach that heavenily shore, we there shall meet to part no more , the joy that we shall see that day shall forever chase our griefs away. I find that we as humans can't let go..were weak that way..so we need to make believe that we shall see the ones we loved and lost...but its a fools game that i can no longer say that i buy either..its a bet i use to think, with big stakes, believing can give u great power..if u can just let go of all reason and give ur will to him only now i have more than doubts.

I think that was the underlying point to begin with...and religionists have gone to those extremes when not restricted by society's laws.

Well, of course it is extreme, but in light of the extremism inherent in Christianity, it is really not much of a stretch. Some Christians claim all the time that there message is a warning against eternal torment. Some Christians also claim all the time that those under a certain age get a free pass. Since parents ultimately have no real control over their children at adulthood, and since apostasy is clearly a possibility, ensuring against that apostasy and to the free pass is really not that extreme. In fact, this impulse has been acted upon many times. Here is a website dedicated to the children of Andrea Yates which is a memorial to the victims of just such a mindset. http://myth-one.com/memorial.htm It is your religion. That it can be used to commit these and millions of other atrocities on the orders or interpretations of an imaginary force should cause you to reconsider, not to call those who simply point out the obvious extremists. They are just illustrating one of the vile aspects of the inhumanity of pretending gods exist.
