Don't say 'pregnant' in front of them. You never know what will happen when you make them fantasize.

No, it is posing an important and interesting question, one proposed inadvertently through the interpretations of the dogma by many Christians and carried out by many more.

From the mouth of famed Apologist William Lane Craig:

I am loathe to speak for karl44, but, I would bet he is certainly not advocating that position or calling for violence but simply illustrating the inherent immorality and inhumanity as presented by your religion. Why can't you see that?

Hey NS!

My take on this...

There have been those that have said...God did not spare the children because...

He wanted to save them from hardships later in life

He knew that they would not make the right decisions thus he saved them from a life in hell

He is punishing the parent for something they have done.

He wants them in heaven with him.

If all of this is true...

Then what about the children that are left behind...does he not care about them?

What happened to free will?

How often have you heard...it was for the best or God works in mysterious ways...it is not for us to question?

Fact of the matter is...people like the "feel good doctrine" even if it is not in the Bible. Why??? Because they don't want to admit...they don't know or that the God that they believe in would do such a thing.

Truth of the matter is...bad things happen...and there is no good reason some of the time.

There are no explicit words in the Bible that God takes all children to heaven. There is no explicit "age of accountability" either. Nor does it say...mentally challenged people have an automatic pass. At best...it is only alluded to. Even theist have differing opinions.

Here is one opinion that I have read on this subject...I found it a little discerning but it did make me think.

http://www.scionofzion.com/age.htm

This whole conversation reminds me of Micah. To the dismay of those posters on WSJLM he was always asking..."When is God going to grow back the arms and legs of those that were missing their arms or legs." LOL He about drove them nuts with that! I don't know why it makes me think of him...but it does.

To reiterate:

I caught that those who posed the question were lamenting the obfuscation and avoidance of facing a very real, very tragic, very irrational interpretation of the dogma as presented by many Christians and as carried out by many others.

Karl44 was positing the question. Curiously, you are avoiding it by calling karl44 an extremist even though he is not the one advocating for it. Your fellow Christians don't advocate it but with the twists of the dogma they pose its possibility and by action they carry it out.

http://myth-one.com/memorial.htm

Nor did karl44 in the example you provided me do any of this...

Which is what I responded to you as having not seen. Why are you moving the goalposts? Yes, it is an extreme position, but it is one that is presented by non-extreme interpretations of your dogma and carried out by too many Christians.

http://myth-one.com/memorial.htm

You can not lament the posing of the question. You have to lament that your religion can even lead to such a position.

Same to you NS4m. I can see your point too. I just sit back and wait for it to cumulate sometimes, and the evidence becomes more evident...especially if it appears out of character.

Why did God stab the Jews in the back by changing his eternal promise after 4000 years ?
the eternal promise is & was always 'justification by faith', not by the works of a law. Jesus is the specific object of saving faith.

c'mon pal, quit being so obstinant about the obvious; otherwise you're being a natural jew and not a son of Abraham by faith.

Thanks!

I've got ten minutes left in my lunch break, so I gotta make this quick.

Final post to this thread; Stephie's kind of angry with me because it seems I spend more of my down time here than with her. I think she might be right. Arguing with fundies is a waste of time anyway, considering their hatred of and resistance to simple logic and reason, not to mention compassion and caring.

I'm gonna miss you, DoC; and macumazahn, W_N, Double Fine, Tide With Beach, Catcher, Hip Gnosis and all you other free thinkers whose names do not immediately come to mind; I'll miss you, Grace, because even though we stand at opposite ends of the religious spectrum you have always been tolerant, kind and polite. I will miss you guys a lot. Blessed Be, and Merry Meet and Merry part; and, hopefully, perhaps Merry Meet Again some day. Ciao a tutti, miei buoni amici.

Waaasssuuup, G_O_D, viking and your various socks & other intolerant, goose-stepping Taliban christian cohorts; to you I say, It's *your* hell--*you* burn in it.

Your religion is made up from whole cloth. You simply slapped a yamilke on Zeus and Hercules and called them Jews, then proclaimed yourselves God's chosen people.

You have no clue what you are talking about. All you do is repeat 1700 years of Roman gibberish.

If Jesus hadn't been crucified by the Romans, He would have choked to death on all the words Christians have shoved in his mouth.
