How can it be any more specific than what proof is there that these changes are not simply adaptation compared to the claim that they are really part of a larger ongoing evolution?
I think I am beginning to see the problem and that is you have no basis for claiming evolution is ongoing. It is absurd to think anyone else could think they could prove something like that. Of course you can't know if evolution, something that takes millions of years per change and something you can't follow sequentially, is ongoing. There is no possible way that I have seen yet you can know that we haven't stopped evolving, if that is what even happened.
What do you base your position on that evolution is ongoing? How can you know that? How can know some things don't undergo 1 change or a dozen changes and stop? You are making up your own facts and then calling other people uninformed. While it is true i don't know a lot about this, I know when I am not getting an answer
OMFG you can't really be this stupid, can you? What college did you go to, Technical Cable Institute? "Yesterday I was watching cable. Today, I's installing it." Ugh.

I have no problem believing in God. However, organized religion has always and will always be a scam designed to do at least 2 things.
1.)Control your mind, and prevent you from thinking for yourself and
2.)Take your money so they can become more powerful and live better.

You do not read...it has nothing to do with Christianity in itself...it is however how I see you display it.
Your Bible speaks of giving up things of the flesh...sometimes those things happen to be what others do.
Colossians 3:5 says it fairly well...
So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don't be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world.
<quoted text>
Believe me...I have no desire to be your boss...or anything else to you.
However...as long as you continue to come here and use scripture to beat someone over the head...then you will continue to receive an opinion on how that scripture was intended.
If you can't take the heat Wasup...maybe you should stick to prison ministry...those that are looking for an hour or two out of their cells instead of people that can read and study for themselves.
I was sincere in my previous post to you as I am this one...yet you still can not address what was written to you.
if you like how good christianity is, why aren't you christian?
c'mon....show us all how it's really supposed to look instead of just being a hypocrite & criticizing others.

I didn't vote for Obama, personally I don't like him, he's better than that Romney douche but meh.
I hate environuts, they're idiots who jump on bandwagons, not any different than christians, act first, think afterward, then dump all the consequences on the smaller populace since they can't fight back.
So, care to make anymore baseless assertions? I'm a conservative, lacking the god delusion, it's sad that I have to actually add that second part because morons like you took over the label and twisted into ... well, something really stupid. Obama is no worse than Bush was, and actually probably better than Romney would have been, however you think that the president actually makes the decisions, you think the president has real power, no wonder you can't vote well, you don't even know how our government works.
"you don't even know how our government works"

i know that you didn't vote, or at least not for a candidate who had a chance. therefore you hve no room to talk about politics IMO, and no room to complain

verb (used with object)
1. to express an unfavorable or adverse judgment on; indicate strong disapproval of; censure.
2. to pronounce to be guilty; sentence to punishment: to condemn a murderer to life imprisonment.
Or...a non-believer to hell...
What part of you telling those who don't believe as you do that they are going to some hell-place is NOT condemning them?
well i guess if all y'all didn't judge & condemn, it wouldn't be measured back to you accordingly. i can't change the spiritual/moral laws that are naturally in place.....

You have a severe problem where women are concerned. I would suggest that in part your religion is to blame for that and in part it is due to something that happened to you as a child.

LOL, I am not the failed businessman who has spent over a year following me around to argue on an Internt chat-room. I think literally one single post in over a year did I write you first. other than that you just follow and follow and follow.
My brother runs his own business and made well over 6 figures last year and I know he would look at me like i was crazy if I asked him if he had the time to do what you do and play on the internet and engage in year long internet grudges. But he runs a successful business.
It is ok that you have all this free time because your business is doing terrible. Some people just aren't gifted with the know-how to run their own business. I am glad I don't have to as I earn a decent living and will be going to work in a few hours. Enjoy your soap operas and bon-bons and stalking people on Topix. Apparently you have the time!
Seriously skombo, you should lay off the drugs before you get sent back to prison for parole violations..........

I'll talk to you later when you get to work and post from work all night long. It's really no wonder Chevy is in the tank again when they let fool employees like you text all night long instead of doing their job..........

Ok, now we are getting somewhere. Thank you for that
So my question is, because evolution takes millions of years per change and we can't follow it from A to Z so-to-speak, how do we know for sure the change in humans is not simply adaptation and not part of a larger evolution?
Whatever level you are able to answer on is fine as I am sure it will be above my knowledge base anyway as this is not in my wheelhouse. So it doesn't have to be super technical. But do we have any way of knowing for sure this isn't simply adaptation?
I'm no expert on evolution either however...
Each word, evolution and adaptation, can stand on their own as individual concepts with unique and also similar qualities. The diversity and yet similarity of the many species here on Earth speaks for this.
There would be no Logical reason to combine the 2 words as each one compliments the other.

Actually, the use of the word “adapt” instead of evolution rather sounds like a cushy way to allow a religious curve that’s acceptable to religious folks.

Just sayin’…IMHO…

Adaptation is the product of evolution. It is the mechanism by which bodies solve problems. I wrote this above, but I'll try to clarify here.
<quoted text>
No. You're confusing genetic change with developmental plasticity.
The snake example - and we're talking species here, over millions of years - is an example of some genes going extinct while new ones evolve (in gene pools, over time).
The "raise your kids at high altitude" ex. is one of developmental plasticity (that is itself a product of evolution).
All species have windows of homeostasis - parameters within which they can function. These are adaptations - the normal range is what species are adapted for. At the extremes of the range is where individuals can no longer adapt, their bodies are pushed to the limits, and some individuals die w/out reproducing.
So, you raise a child in California - no problem, good conditions. You raise your second child at Machu Pichu - you have all kinds of problems here, b/c you're a lowlander. The child may or may not do find, depending on genetics and development, but s/he will be pushed to the limit of his/her adaptive response to developing at altitude. S/he will have developmental adaptations you do not posses because those are within the range of human development. However, at the limits, some children will do better, some worse and, over long periods of time, those who do better because of genetic advantages will out-reproduce others.
Natural selection produces adaptation. Where adaptation fails (at the edge of homeostasis) is where natural selection produces more adaptation - to specific environments.
<quoted text>
Evolution is ongoing. It never stops. Mutation never stops. Every generation has new mutations and slightly different environments. These cause evolution. All species are still evolving. When they stop evolving, they are extinct. Humans and snakes are yet evolving.
I'm sorry, you don't seem to understand evolution very well. That's not your fault - there's a lot of disinformation around. You have to be more specific in how you understand it. Start with evolution is "allelic frequency change in gene pools, over time" and work your way up.
I'm stepping aside and referring all questions to you.

By the way...Excellent...thanks!!!

Okay...I will go first...
The First Amendment includes all of us...
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; (meaning that our government has no say in what religion that you nor I must follow)
or
abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; (just think...this allows us to say or write (in the case of Topix) our opinions...even if they differ that someone elses)
or
the right of the people peaceably to assemble,(giving us the right to assemble here on this internet site and discuss our views)
and
to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.(aaaah...if our rights (or blessings) are being trampled upon we can take it to the government)
For all of the above...I am blessed.
Now as far as China and other utopias (where ever those are) why would anyone have to travel so far when we have all of those rights here in the US as outlined in the First Amendment.
Now for a few more blessings...
I have access to the internet and a computer in order to exercise that First Amendment.
I have vision to read your post complaining about others exercising their First Amendment rights...I won't however tell you to move to China and those other utopias (where they might be) since that First Amendment also applies to you.
I have many other blessings but I will turn it over to someone else...
So...I leave you with this...

Annie I do count my blessings everyday, and one of them is thanking the Good Lord, I was not born in an atheist based country that has no tolerance for those that disagree with them. I am not complaining. I am sure the souls of those that live in these "spiritually challenged" places requested to be there. Why? I don't get that, but neither does your soul. Ooops i forgot you do know yourself, and you will tell me you have no soul. Oh so be that too.
