Fortunate, I'm well employed and it's looking as secure for the long run, as much as a guy can tell. Plus I've been in my industry long enough to have lots of contacts and dealers, if we get when things are changing I can always move sideways into a different position with a different company. But lots of people are like that, they've been out of work for lots of months and have used up their unemployment benefits (which was never intended to be a long-term welfare set up) and I don't know what they're going to do, but lots of people have just given up on looking for work. Do you know anybody in this situation or are there yourself? What's it like? Discuss.

I have tried Unemployment Benefits after I got fired from work. I won the case. I was on unemployment for 7 months. then someone hired me.

then after working again, I have decided that working is better than using the Unemployment Benefits.

working has more benefits: more savings, better food, feeling more secure, and working is better for my brain function and health.

in case I get fired again, I promise never to go back to unemployment. the income is low. I will find another job right away and enjoy the benefits of a higher income.

No two people who have done like you said, just given up looking. Friends of the rents who's been out of work for like a couple of years, just got burned out and exhausted on the job search process. I recently graduated HS and have been making better money than 'hamburger jobs' by continuing with the modeling gigs I've done for sevrl years (not big-time stuff you get rich at, just sitting for local art courses and freelance photog things like that) and I can tell you the job market really is tough. Have finished classes for getting my certificate in therapeutic massage, and spa/tantric massage, have resumes out in that field which is at least a growth industry. But lots of competition! Especially for the good jobs, like the dream jobs of being a masseuse on a cruise liner, or at a destination resort things like that. I was going to move in with bf but decided why spend any money on rent, so still living at home long as that let me! LOL – saving the money.
