Actor Jack Lord of the CBS television show "Hawaii Five-O" was a Christian Scientist. He was a "class-taught" student of the Christian Science Teacher Mrs. Madora Holt, C.S.B. of Beverly Hills, California

You do know that this has nothing to do with Scientology dont you? Just in case you are trying to find another actor to stick up there with Tom Cruise, that is.

This is a cult religion. They don't believe in going to doctors, the world is just an illusion.
I was one but NOT now. This is a dying church. It's a shame that he did believe CS. If he didn't he would be here today.

Yes both Jack Lord and his wife were both Christian Scientists. My parents belonged to a ballroom dance group in the late 50s located in Pasadena, CA. where they became good friends. While in Hawaii Jack Lord was active with the local branch of the Christian Science church in Honolulu.

I disagree that his being a Christian Scientist caused him to die young (age 77). His father died at the age of 79, his older brother died at the age of 64. His sister died at the age of 78, and his two younger brothers died at the ages of 78 and 68. Only Jack's mother lived to an old age, 102. Those who died young died of heart failure. No doubt, it ran in the Ryan family.

I should add that all members of Jack's family -- as was he, himself, in his younger years -- were Catholic.
